A Sydney man arrested over his alleged marriage to a 15-year-old girl has walked free from court after charges against him were dropped.
Mustafa Abdelghany, 20, was discharged by District Court Judge Paul Conlon in Sydney on Tuesday after the prosecution told the judge the matter would be discontinued.
No reason was given for the withdrawal of charges.

Why does Merkel, and the rest of the European and North American political and media elites, believe that Trump might not uphold “the dignity of man, independent of origin, skin colour, religion,” etc.? Because he wants to stop the Muslim migrant inundation in order to keep at least some Islamic jihadis out of the U.S. As far as Merkel and her ilk are concerned, defense of one’s nation is contravening the “dignity of man.” The bloody assassin of Germany will only cooperate with Trump if he assassinates America, too.

A Muslim leader has said that young people in the US are in fear as the country is on the brink of a “Brexit moment”.
Linda Sarsour, head of Arab American Association of New York, told ITV News’ Julie Etchingham that her daughter is at home crying at the prospect of a Trump presidency.
She said: “Muslim kids across the country are in fear. I think the country is on the verge of potentially having a Brexit moment.”
A Sydney woman, who attended Islamic colleges in Sydney’s west, says girls as young as 12 would be married off overseas and some were dropped off at school by husbands aged in their 30s.
Iraqi-born Bee al-Darraj, now 24, said she tried to report multiple counts of child marriage among her friends and relatives to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) without success.
She told News Corp she wrote to the AFP asking for something to be done to help girls she knew at school who had been taken out of Australia and married at 12 or 13, often to much older men, who were, in some cases, related to them.
Ms al-Darraj, who attended al-Faisal College in Auburn, said she was especially concerned for a girl who was married off at 13 and was “14 when she gave birth in a public hospital, with a 28-year-old father signing the birth certificate”.
“She was in school, but nothing was done until he started to beat her and then she was put in a safe house,” Ms al-Darraj said.

The government should narrow its definition of ‘political Islam’ and recognise that many Islamic political movements share the same values as Britain, according to a report by an influential committee of MPs.
The report criticises th Foreign Office for using the term to describe both groups that embrace “democratic principles and liberal values” and others that instead hold “intolerant, extremist views.”
It was also heavily critical of the FCO’s recent report into Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, which was conducted by Sir John Jenkins, while serving as British Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, which gave the impression that it could have been influenced by a foreign state.
Malcolm Turnbull will need the backing of Pauline Hanson and other crossbenchers for a crackdown on asylum-seeker visas after Labor decided to oppose government legislation.
The Labor caucus decision on Tuesday to reject the lifetime visa ban on asylum seekers who use people smugglers sparked a furious government attack in parliament.
The laws would effectively mean that if an asylum seeker or refugee who arrived on a boat is resettled in another country, they will never be able to come to Australia on a tourism, business or any other sort of visa without the immigration minister’s special permission.
In announcing the decision, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said Labor would not support the ‘desperate gesture by a floundering government’.

Just four years ago, young Noongar man Junaid Thorne was working as an intern at a global property agency in Saudi Arabia and planning a lucrative career as an investment adviser in the Middle East’s financial centre, Riyadh.
The Perth-born 27-year-old now believes it was his destiny to instead become a radical Muslim preacher suspected by Australian counter-terrorism authorities of leading a terror cell in south-western Sydney.
“It’s not something I had as a goal of mine, it’s not something I worked towards,” Mr Thorne said in an interview to be aired on 7.30 tonight.
“As Muslims we believe our life is predetermined for us, we believe in what’s called destiny and this is something that Allah has written for me and I accept it.”
Mr Thorne was born in Perth and raised in Saudi Arabia, where his brother was arrested on terrorism charges in 2011.
In 2013, Mr Thorne campaigned publicly for his brother’s release and was briefly jailed before being deported to Australia, cutting short his finance degree.
Since then, he has gained a following among young extremists by giving hate-filled sermons across Australia and making posts online supporting Islamic State.
Last Thursday, Mr Thorne’s home was raided and two people were charged with foreign incursion offences as police from the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team searched six Sydney homes in a move to disrupt a suspected terror cell.
Police believe the cell is trying to source weapons and have issued Mr Thorne and his associates with firearm prohibition orders, which allow officers to search their properties without warrants.
