Australia doesn’t execute people Muslims for not being like us.  Islam does.  As a paid Islamist PR you’d reckon Waleed Aly might open up a bit about that central tenet of the system he pushes.

We couldn’t give a rat’s about other people’s religion as long as they don’t want to hurt us.

And we don’t decide who’s in or kept out of our country on race, gender, sexual orientation or how they say their prayers.

In our democracy what goes on here is what we the people of Australia want to go on here.    Not Muhammad.   Not Buddha.  And certainly not the views of Sunni Islam’s head office, Saudi Arabia spouted through slick PRs like Waleed Aly.

We don’t like it when people get killed because of something we did.

We are revolted when it’s children who have no say in getting on board leaky boats only to drown at sea while en route to claim a prize for mum and dad.

We’re more Hippocrates than Muhammad.  First do no harm.  We want to know a bit about who’s coming here and their intentions.  We don’t want them dead on arrival.  And self-selection or queue-jumping isn’t on.

Residency or citizenship in Australia is a glittering prize.  Many want it.   Let it rip and ruthless people smugglers will quickly fill the leaky boats again.  That’s what happenned last time Wahabbi Aly’s preferred system was running.  And thousands drowned.

Australians could see that our system was killing people.  Mohameddan fatalist culture might cop that sweet as the will of a vengeful creator.   But just like we do in most things – or overdo at work – it’s Safety First here and decent Australians won’t be a party to industrial scale killing.

I won’t cop two-faced criticism of our caring culture from a paid promoter of its opposite.   The least worst option is the stable one we have now.

Former Prime Minister Tony Abbott’s strong border protection and denial of the prize of residency to those who try to buck our system by arriving illegally by boat is working.   Lives are being saved.

We can’t offer refuge to everyone on earth from those who’d attack or persecute them.   But we can manage Australia and remove further unacceptable temptations and risks to life from our system.

Ever since 9/11, mosques and “Islamic centers” have been conducting campaigns of determined “outreach” to non-Muslims. The point of this “outreach” is to present Islam as the least threatening of faiths, one which has been too often misunderstood and its adherents unfairly maligned, and those adherents are only too glad to clear up misconceptions about their faith. One such gathering was held on September 16 at the Islamic Center of Boston in Wayland, Massachusetts, billed as “Meet Your Muslim Neighbors.”

The first “misconception” that the Muslim hosts thought needed to be cleared up had to do with how long Muslims have been in America. “People think that Muslims have just come here to this country,” said Shaheen Akhtar, who is an “interfaith liaison” and runs an “interfaith book club” at the Center. She told her audience that Jefferson and John Adams had both owned copies of the Qur’an. Her implication was clear: these men took a sympathetic interest in Islam. She even described Jefferson as “advocating for the rights of the practitioners of the faith.” This implies special pleading on his part for Islam. What Jefferson actually did was “advocate” for the principle of religious freedom in general, and famously quoted a line from John Locke’s 1698 A Letter Concerning Religious Toleration: “neither Pagan nor Mahamedan [Muslim] nor Jew ought to be excluded from the civil rights of the Commonwealth because of his religion.”

However, there were those whom Locke expressly excluded from toleration, and applying his own criteria, Muslims might well have been among them.

At the website of Apologetics Press:

Dr. Dave Miller has noted that in a section of A Letter Concerning Toleration dealing with those whom a civil magistrate “cannot” tolerate, Locke lists the following (page numbers refer to the 1796 edition of Locke’s Letter):Those whose religious opinions are contrary to “those moral rules which are necessary to the preservation of civil society” (1796, p. 53);

1. The religion that “teaches expressly and openly, that men are not obliged to keep their promise” (p. 54);
2. “[T]hose that will not own and teach the duty of tolerating all men in matters of mere religion…and that they only ask leave to be tolerated by the magistrate so long, until they find themselves strong enough to [seize the government]” (p. 55);
3. All those who see themselves as having allegiance to another civil authority (p. 56). Specifically, Locke gives the example of the Muslim who lives among Christians and would have difficulty submitting to the government of a “Christian nation” when he comes from a Muslim country where the civil magistrate was also the religious authority. Locke notes that such a person would have grave difficulty serving as a soldier in his adopted nation (cf. the 2009 Fort Hood shooting spree by a Muslim soldier who shouted, “Allahu Akbar” as he opened fire, killing 13 and wounding 32; see Stewart, 2010).
4. “[T]hose are not at all to be tolerated who deny the being of a God” (p. 56).

#1-#4 would all seem to disqualify Islam from such toleration.

But what did those visitors to the Islamic Center know about Jefferson’s reliance on Locke, and Locke’s criteria, that would have excluded Islam from “toleration”? And what did they know about, what could they reasonably conclude, from the Qur’ans owned by Jefferson and Adams?

Because clearly a Muslim screaming “Allahu akbar” and disrupting a Christian religious service must be insane, right? There couldn’t possibly be any other motive. Jihad? Islamic supremacism? Hatred and contempt for the unbelievers whom the Qur’an designates “the most vile of created beings” (98:6)? Don’t be silly, you greasy Islamophobe! This is just another instance of the global outbreak of mental illness.

“The officer said: ‘We tried to calm the obviously traumatised Syrian man.’” The poor dear! Good thing they were there to comfort him!

A newlywed couple have claimed their big day was ruined when a man burst inside the church shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ and then started tearing down wedding decorations.

Groom Marcel Lohbeck, 35, and bride Friederike were celebrating their wedding with 90 guests in the Karmel Church in Duisburg, a city in western Germany.

Lochbeck said: ‘At the beginning of the ceremony, a man with a thick jumper and a hat on came into the church and sat in the back row.

‘Shortly afterwards, he stood up and wandered around the candles. He laughed in a disturbing manner and then fondled the statue of Mary.

‘He had been speaking in Arabic and partly English. He then started destroying the flowers and kept shouting “Allahu Akbar”.’

Police officer Ludger A., 57, the uncle of the groom, reportedly tried to intervene along with the church sexton.

The officer said: ‘We tried to calm the obviously traumatised Syrian man.’

After the man again refused to leave the church, there was a fight in which the police officer got slight injuries to his face.

Yet he managed to restrain the man until his colleagues from the Duisburg police could arrive.

After a medical examination, the 23-year-old Syrian man was taken to a psychiatric hospital.

In Philadelphia I’m struck by how many women I now see on the street wearing the hijab or even the burqa. Some of my friends are annoyed by that kind of “in your face” Islam. But I understand it. The hijab and the burqa say two important things in a morally confused culture: “I’m not sexually available;” and “I belong to a community different and separate from you and your obsessions.”

I have a long list of concerns with the content of Islam. But I admire the integrity of those Muslim women. And we need to help Catholics recover their own sense of distinction from the surrounding secular meltdown. The Church and American democracy are very different kinds of societies with very different structures and goals. They can never be fully integrated without eviscerating the Christian faith. An appropriate “separateness” for Catholics is already there in the New Testament. We’ve too often ignored it because Western civilization has such deep Christian roots. But we need to reclaim it, starting now.

The following video is excerpted from remarks made by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to members of her political party, the CDU (Christian Democrats). In it you’ll hear her hectoring her minions about the lack of Christmas carols at their events, and deprecating their musical skills.

Yes, this barren hag has the hide to tell the Germans they should learn how to sing Christmas songs and play a recorder. She says “we are the party with the C in the name!” And then she wonders “Do we have any self-confidence left?”

Since when did Mrs. Merkel ever care about Christians, Christianity, or Christendom? Is there anything Christian about her except her party’s name? It’s a bizarre performance, but that’s from a foreigner’s perspective. Maybe if I understood the German context more deeply, it wouldn’t seem strange at all.
