Victor Orban vs EU Kommissar Ursula von der Leyen

Hungary rejects EU’s new calls for open borders, insisting on right of sovereign states to control their own borders

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has for a considerable period declared his commitment to protect his Christian country against mass migration and Islamization. In 2015, he said that the swarm of migrants flowing into Europe looked more “like an army.” Now, he adds: “I don’t even want to think about the integration of Muslim people in Europe. The most we could hope for is a peaceful life next to each other, which is called a parallel society.”

Orban also warned in 2015:

What we have been facing is not a refugee crisis. This is a migratory movement composed of economic migrants, refugees and also foreign fighters. This is an uncontrolled and unregulated process.

The Hungarian Prime Minister has meanwhile been spending millions to help persecuted Christians in Syria and Iraq, despite accusations of being “racist”; the EU has ignored these persecuted people.

“Hungary Strikes Back Against E.U. ‘Open Borders’ Propaganda,” by Thomas D. Williams, Breitbart, September 15, 2020:

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen
European Commission president proposes new EU asylum rules to force member states to take migrants

The current Dublin agreement regulations state that “asylum seekers must apply for asylum in the first European Union member state they enter,” but the EU is moving toward redistributing the migrants all over Europe, and it will likely succeed. The aim of what von der Leyen calls a “new strong solidarity mechanism” is to firmly establish and coordinate open doors all over Europe, so as t0 welcome as many economic Muslim migrants from Africa and the Middle East as wish to come. This represents a more sophisticated means to legitimize illegal migration, in full accordance with the previously agreed-upon UN Migration Pact. Remember that the Pact raised much controversy, but it was never abandoned. Even during the coronavirus pandemic, invasions have continued in Italy, Greece and the UK.

Last year, a report by the European Commission’s Legal Service declared that “the UN compact should have legally binding consequences for every EU member state including those which withdrew from the agreement. The compact describes mass migration as ‘inevitable, necessary and desirable.’” Now this idea is taking shape.

Expect tensions, and possibly even a showdown, as von der Leyen drives her agenda. “Hungary has long resisted proposals to redistribute migrants in the EU and is likely one of the countries that will object to changing the asylum rules. The Austrian government has also made it clear that it will not accept new migrants.”

In fact, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán vowed six months ago to protect Europe from renewed mass Muslim migration.

“EU Considers Scrapping Dublin Migrant Agreement,” by Chris Tomlinson, Breitbart, September 17, 2020:

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has proposed abolishing current European Union asylum rules, suggesting new measures could force member states to take migrants through a “new strong solidarity mechanism”.

President Von der Leyen told the European Parliament on Wednesday that the asylum system needed to be changed, likely to make it easier to distribute migrants from countries where they first arrive, such as Greece and Italy.

Current Dublin agreement regulations state that asylum seekers must apply for asylum in the first European Union member state they enter, which often means a larger percentage of migrants in countries along the EU’s border.

“We will abolish the Dublin regulation, and we will replace it with a new European migration governance system,” von der Leyen said, according to Swedish broadcaster SVT.

“It will have common structures on asylum and return, and it will have a new strong solidarity mechanism,” she said and added: “I am very much looking forward to the debate. Let’s discuss. There will be things where we will agree and places where we will not. So, I’m looking forward to the next few days and weeks.”

While the proposal could see support from Italy and Greece, SVT’s correspondent Christoffer Wendick noted that many other countries within the EU could oppose the idea.

Hungary has long resisted proposals to redistribute migrants in the EU and is likely one of the countries that will object to changing the asylum rules.

The Austrian government has also made it clear that it will not accept new migrants, stating last week that it preferred to send aid to Greece following a fire at the Moria migrant camp that left more than 10,000 migrants homeless.

Since the fire, six migrants have been arrested in connection with the blaze, which Greek authorities have claimed was a deliberate arson.

The Negligence of Western Leaders

It’s more than just negligence. It is ineptitude. It is the lack of intellectual curiosity, the total absentia of historical knowledge, mixed with a total lack of intellectual curiosity. Add to this the arrogance that comes with holding high office & the dereliction of duty to protect. Our leaders have a lot to answer for.

From the Gates of Vienna

Michael Copeland’s latest essay concerns the horrendous ignorance of Western leaders on the issue of Islam.

The Negligence of Western Leaders

by Michael Copeland

Western leaders have uttered a catalogue of statements about Islam, many of them with a traceable connection to the Muslim Brotherhood.

  • Islam is peace. — George W. Bush
  • Let’s be clear: Islam is not our adversary. Muslims are peaceful and tolerant people and have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism. — Hillary Clinton
  • Authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence. — Pope Francis
  • The Koran is a book of peace. — Mr. Justice Haddon-Cave
  • At the root of the crisis lies a radicalized and politicized view of Islam. An ideology that distorts and warps Islam’s true message. — Tony Blair
  • This is not our war against Islam. This is a war fought by extremists who pervert the true faith of Islam. — Tony Blair
  • There is NOTHING in Islam that justifies this truly dreadful act. — David Cameron
  • …it is a poisonous ideology of Islamist extremism that is condemned by all faiths and by all faith leaders. — David Cameron
  • It is an ideology that is a perversion of Islam. — Theresa May
  • There are LOTS of churches in Saudi Arabia! — Leader of Worcester City Council

Every one of these statements is wrong, wrong, wrong. Alas, many of them, repeatedly publicised, have become widely known and uncritically accepted.

George W. Bush was duped by the Muslim Brotherhood front group, CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations. They had craftily invited him to a mosque to feed him the false narrative that “Islam is peace”. This untrue assertion, obligingly read to the camera from a script by Bush in his best person-to-person-sincerity mode, was widely parroted by other leaders for years afterwards — complete with reverential hushed tones.

It was, however, a deception all along. “Using deception to mask intended goals” is one of the Muslim Brotherhood’s strategies, as set out in their secret Explanatory Memorandum, captured in a police raid a few years later. Islam authorises deception in the cause of Islam: it has the Arabic name taqiyya. The “Islam is peace” lie was a masterpiece of strategic propaganda. It has run and run.
