Sky News host Alan Jones says it is clear that Singapore is being “run by smarter people” than those in Australia who “pretend to be looking after our wellbeing”. Mr Jones said a news story out of Singapore has “acknowledged” the city-state as being one of the world’s “most successful” in its COVID response stating it will treat the virus “like other endemic diseases such as the flu”. “Senior Singaporean Ministers have said it is the ‘new normal’ of ‘living with Covid’,” Mr Jones said.
“Singapore city is 5.7 million people, slightly larger than Greater Sydney. It has had a steady undercurrent of 20 to 30 cases every day.” Singapore’s health minister has recently said the country can’t “eradicate” the COVID virus, but they can “turn the pandemic” into something “much less threatening like influenza or chicken pox”. “It is clear that Singapore is being run by smarter people than those here who pretend to be looking after our well-being. The reality is they are sowing the seeds to destroy it,” Mr Jones said.
