Christians Fear More Islamic Attacks In Southern Philippines

MANILA, PHILIPPINES (BosNewsLife)– Christians in the southern Philippines feared more attacks Tuesday, October 7, a day after the European Union said it would extend seven million euros, or almost 10 million dollars, in emergency aid for people displaced by the Muslim insurgency in the area.
The announcement by the EU, described as one of the largest sources of official development aid to the predominantly Roman Catholic southeast Asian country’s Muslim region, followed similar pledges of more aid from United Nations agencies. Yet Christian families on the island
of Mindanao have told reporters that they remain concerned amid reports Islamic rebels could attack them at midnight.

German Satire Magazine Plans Muhammad-Look-Alike Competition

A Muhammed look-a-like competition is slated to take place during the Frankfurt Book Fair, and it has already offended and outraged people far beyond Germany. But Titanic, the monthly satirical magazine behind the inflamatory event, insists: “It will be a blast.”

Titanic, the German satire magazine, is never far from polemics, but its latest action takes its reputation for controversy to new heights: It is staging a Muhammed look-a-like competition — and has invited the Turkish President Abdullah Gül to take part.

Turkish newspapers were quick to react to the “unbelievable competition,” which is to be held parallel to the Frankfurt Book Fair, where Turkey will be the guest country this year. The popular Turkish daily Sabah drew parallels with the infamous Muhammed cartoons published in Denmark’sJyllands-Posten newspaper in 2005, which sparked death threats and protests across the Muslim world, with some escalating into violence.

A council has sacked three officers after it was revealed an Afghan family was living in a £1.2million home paid for by the taxpayer. 

Mother-of-seven Toorpakai Saiedi, 35, receives £170,000 a year in benefits, a staggering £150,000 of that is paid to a private landlord for the rent of a seven-bedroom house in West London.

The detached property in Acton has two large reception rooms, two kitchens, a dining room and a 100ft garden. 

Ealing Council is picking up the £12,458 a month bill – which is nearly five times the rent for a similar property in the same road.

After all the fanfare about the launching of the Absalon and the commissioning of Task Force 150, it turns out that the Western Powers are not all that serious about deterring the Somali pirates. The Danes have just released a batch of pirates with a slap on the wrist. Actually, I don’t know if giving them a free ride home and taking away their AK-47s even rises to the level of a slap on the wrist. If this is all the West is going to do to deter pirates, then we are in trouble.

You’ll notice that this insanity is mandated by human rights considerations: we are required to ensure that the pirates are not returned to place where they might face torture or execution.

Canadian Forces seek recruits at mosque, encounter “indignation” among some members

Among the “indignant” members, there is a curious logical disconnect. The same people would most likely insist that the problem of Islamic jihad is limited to a Tiny Minority of Extremists who have “hijacked” Islam. And yet, apparently, neither Muslims nor non-Muslims are supposed to fight those people, either.

* Or could it be that if asked if they were willing to fight against their host-country they would all shout “jihaaaad” and “allahu akbar..?”
