Egyptian Student Admits Producing Bomb-Making Video

In a 12-minute video posted on YouTube, an Egyptian man wearing a white shirt, khaki pants and rubber gloves explains in Arabic how to turn a toy boat into a bomb.

His name is Ahmed Abdellatif Sherif Mohamed, and last month he was arrested in Goose Creek after authorities found four PVC pipes containing a mixture of potassium nitrate, kitty litter and sugar in his car’s trunk.

Mohamed told FBI agents he made the video to teach “those persons in Arabic countries to defend themselves against the infidels invading their countries,” according to federal court documents released late Tuesday.

Specifically, he told the FBI “the technology which he demonstrated in the tape was to be used against those who fought for the United States.”

The Council on American Islamic Relations claimed that Egyptian students Youssef Megahed and Ahmed Mohamed, arrested near a naval base in South Carolina, were only “naïve kids” with “fireworks,” persecuted by racist authorities simply because they were Muslims.

Today the Charlotte Observer reports that Megahed has admitted to the FBI that he produced a video to teach jihadis how to make remote-controlled bombs, “to be used against those who fought for the United States.”

The National Coordinator for Terrorism Suppression (NCTB) Mr. Tjibbe Joustra fears the consequences of the strong anti-Muslim sentiments worded by some prominent Dutchmen in the debate about Muslims.

He refers to, amongst others, the words of Member of Parliament Mr. Geert Wilders. “If someone says such things, I look at it with mixed feelings”, said Joustra in an interview with the Algemeen Dagblad newspaper. “Such radical statements can push individuals, who are already on the brink of becoming violent, right over the edge.”

Joustra has the same feelings about some words of Mr. Ehsan Jami, founder of a committee for ex-Muslims. “We have nearly a million Muslims living in The Netherlands, but the vast majority by far do not approve of any form of violence. The group of extremists we worry about consists of just a few hundred individuals. If you listen to the debates recently, it seems people do not see that perspective.”

Joustra stresses that freedom of speech is the highest good in a democracy. “Anyone can say what he wants, but that doesn’t mean one has to say it. You have to think clearly before opening your mouth.”

Gunman Arrested at St. John’s University Wearing Bush Mask

Doctors at a London hospital treating Nabil Abu Rudeineh had to remove one of his kidneys and implant instead a kidney donated by his sister, the Web site said.

Rudeineh’s family told the PNN Web site that the former aide was recovering and would return to the territories in the near future.

Rudeineh has been feeling unwell for some time now and doctors told his family that the liver malfunction he suffered may have been caused by poisoning.

Italy: Muslims patrol streets following vandalism attacks

Padua, 26 Sept. (AKI) – Some members of the Muslim community in the town of Bagnoli, located 30 kilometres from the northeastern Italian city of Padua, have begun patrolling the streets near their mosque in the wake of a series of acts of vandalism, Italian daily La Repubblica reported Wednesday.

The attacks have often taken place following afternoon prayers, with the the faithful returning to their parked cars and finding the tires slashed.

John Esposito has called the murdered Al-Faruqi his “istadh” or “teacher.” He has collaborated with, and calls a “friend,” Azzam Tamimi, the well-known supporter of Hamas whose hysterical harangue of a crowd in London can, I think, be seen on-line. He describes Sami al-Arian, now serving a long sentence in a Federal prison for his active support, in this country, of terrorism. as a “friend” and, indeed, he hired Sami al-Arian’s daughter to work at his “Center.”

In World War II, anyone who had the kind of connections and “friends” among Nazis or Nazi sympathizers that Esposito does among the supporters of terrorist groups would have lost his job and likely been arrested for treasonous activities.

John Esposito, however, has not been stripped of his Saudi-supplied wealth and put behind bars for supporting the enemy. No, instead he has been invited by the Department of Homeland Security to address one of the meetings it has organized in New Jersey. One’s worst suspicions about the DHS, and about who is doing what in our government, suspicions not allayed by reports from within the Pentagon about Muslim officers and aides swaggering about, or Pentagon officials who continue to be taken for “briefings” on Islam with John Esposito, appear to be justified. We will have to find those who are just as alarmed, but are capable –in Congress or the Executive branch — of doing something about it. The Saudi lobby is very powerful; there is nothing else like it.

SCHIPHOL – Schiphol and Rotterdam Airport are going to provide a hundred disadvantaged Moroccan youth with training to become airport workers. The young people will start a five-week accelerated training programme in November.

Working with customers, platform activities and job application skills will all be covered during the course. A spokesperson for Schiphol confirmed on Tuesday a report on this in the Telegraaf.

Upon completion of the training course, youth will be given a certificate allowing them to proceed to a trainee job or more extensive training. If they want to apply for a job immediately at that point they will be given assistance from the airports.

THE mysterious sheik behind the Australian chapter of Islamist group Hizb ut-Tahrir has revealed the organisation’s support for military coups and revolutions to overthrow non-Muslim governments worldwide.

Ismail Al Wahwah, who was little known until last month when he was banned from a Hizb ut-Tahrir conference in Indonesia, spoke out on an Arabic radio program that revealed him as the “active member” of the group in Australia.

In an interview conducted in Arabic on SBS radio last month, he attacked the West’s lack of values and backed the use of suicide bombings in Iraq and Palestine, even if they killed Australians.

“I say any occupied people have the responsibility to defend their country,” he said in the interview, which The Australian had translated into English. “The victim … should not be asked how he is defending himself.”

Sheik Wahwah is understood to be the unofficial leader of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Australia. The Australian has obtained the first pictures of the man widely known in the Muslim community as Abu Anas.

Hizb ut-Tahrir’s media spokesman, Wassim Doureihi, denied the sheik was the group’s leader in Australia, saying Sheik Wahwah was a senior member and that his brother, Ashraf, a civil engineer at North Sydney Council, was the official leader.

* You see, when they are among Muslim brothers, they are proud ‘leaders’ of the jihad-insurgency. When they return behind enemy lines in the lands of the infidels they lie and deny, classic taqiyya.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is a secretive organisation known as the Party of Islamic Liberation, which advocates the destruction of Western civilisation and the overthrow of governments and their replacement by Islamic rule.

The group is banned in Europe, China and Saudi Arabia, but remains legal in Britain and Australia, actively pushing the idea of the caliphate.

* You go figure: ‘Banned in Saudi Arabia’- so here we have a guy who’s ideology is even more dangerous than the Islam of the Wahabites who fuel and finance the global jihad. How did this ratbag get into Australia?

A very few will follow Ibn Warraq, Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, right out of Islam. Some more will attempt to hold on as Muslim-for-identification-purposes Muslims, possibly pretending to others, and even to themselves, that they can somehow “reform” Islam and convince one billion primitive Believers to accept the suggested “reforms” — though of course no details are ever given or can be given, as to the passages in Qur’an, Hadith, and Sira that would have to be excised. Those who tell us that Muslims can stick merely to the Qur’an delude themselves, or possibly attempt to delude only us, that the Qur’an all by itself, is menace enough, is more than enough.

For almost all Muslims — 98% or more — who will, knowing full well what is in Qur’an, Hadith, and Sira — and yet continue to identify themselves as Muslims, the question you ask about divided loyalties remains moot. There can be no divided loyalty for Muslims. They are clearly taught that their sole loyalty is owed to Islam and to fellow Muslims, members of the world-wide Umma. The very idea of a Muslim pledging his allegiance to an Infidel nation-state, and meaning it, and yet remaining a good Muslim, is absurd. It misses entirely the point of Islam, the whole structure of Islam as a Total System, demanding total loyalty.

Memo to polygamous husbands: don’t tell Wife #1 about Wife #2’s sexual prowess

After all, “marry women of your choice, two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess” (Qur’an 4:3). I doubt that comparing one wife unfavorably to another — to her face — qualifies as dealing “justly,” but human nature being what it is, it’s going to happen.

A ‘good’ Muslimah, however, would be submissive:

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – Malaysian doctors have reattached a man’s nearly severed penis after his first wife, enraged by his comparison of her sex skills with those of his younger second wife, decided to chop it off with a kitchen knife.
The man, a 43-year-old Indonesian worker in southern Johor state, was lying in bed with his 48-year-old wife talking about his newly wed second wife, who is in her 30s, when the incident happened, the New Straits Times newspaper reported.

Despite his shock and pain, the man managed to pull on his trousers and ride his motorcycle to a nearby hospital, where doctors had to put in 11 stitches to reattach the organ.

The New York Times actually notices the phenomenon of honor killing. “A Dishonorable Affair,” by Katherine Zoepf (thanks to DW)

In speaking with the police, Zahra’s brother used a colloquial expression, ghasalat al arr (washing away the shame), which means the killing of a woman or girl whose very life has come to be seen as an unbearable stain on the honor of her male relatives. Once this kind of familial sexual shame has been “washed,” the killing is traditionally forgotten as quickly as possible. Under Syrian law, an honor killing is not murder, and the man who commits it is not a murderer. As in many other Arab countries, even if the killer is convicted on the lesser charge of a “crime of honor,” he is usually set free within months. Mentioning the killing — or even the name of the victim — generally becomes taboo.

A strange article from the Economist. Looks like some liberals are very uncomfortable sitting between two chairs….

THEY hate our freedoms.” So said George Bush in a speech to the American Congress shortly after the attacks on America in September 2001. But how well, at home, have America and the other Western democracies defended those precious freedoms during the “war on terror”?

As we intend to show in a series of articles starting this week (see article), the past six years have seen a steady erosion of civil liberties even in countries that regard themselves as liberty’s champions. Arbitrary arrest, indefinite detention without trial, “rendition”, suspension of habeas corpus, even torture—who would have thought such things possible?
