These creatures do not hide anything about their intentions, their depravity, or their love of killing—and Dadullah, who was released in a hostage deal made by Italy, makes a point of noting that kidnapping is a tactic that very obviously works for them, and promises more.

Activist’s remarks about Islam, sex probed

By Pete Vere – SAULT STE. MARIE, Ontario — Organizers of a conservative online forum in Canada say their free-speech rights are under attack after they received a letter saying a complaint has been filed with the Canadian Human Rights Commission.

The complaint, filed by a private citizen and accepted for further investigation by the commission, protested a critical posting on the forum’s Web site regarding Islam and homosexuality.

The remarks were posted on FreeDominion.ca, a sister site to the conservative U.S. forum FreeRepublic, by FreeDominion member Bill Whatcott, a former homosexual prostitute turned outspoken Christian activist.

“I can’t figure out why the homosexuals I ran into are on the side of the Muslims,” Mr. Whatcott wrote on the Web site. “After all, Muslims who practice Sharia law tend to advocate beheading homosexuals.”

He also attributed the worldwide Muslim fury at the Danish Muhammad cartoons to “violence and discrimination inherent in Islamic theology.”

The complaint, which has not been made public, reportedly said the posting “has a discriminatory content against Muslims, and Free Dominion contributes to disseminating hate literature by allowing it to be on its Web site.”

A spokeswoman with the Canadian Human Rights Commission in Ottawa said the commission tries to conciliate between a complainant and the accused and only if that fails is a tribunal set up to hear the case.

As a matter of policy, the commission does not discuss details of individual cases before they reach the tribunal stage, which has not happened in the complaint against Free Dominion, said the spokeswoman, Carmen Gregoire.

If the case does reach adjudication, she said, the tribunal would be empowered under the Canadian Human Rights Act to order the Web site to “cease and desist” the publication of hate speech or to impose a monetary fine.

Canadian hate speech laws are more stringent than in the United States and outlaw some remarks that would be protected in the United States by the First Amendment. Miss Gregoire said she was unsure whether a tribunal could order the shutdown of a Web site.

Conservative bloggers across Canada have rallied to the defense of the Free Dominion organizers, who suspect they are being victimized for their conservative leanings.

“I cannot help but think that this is a politically motivated attack on our members’ free speech; the commission is behaving like Voldemort’s Death Eaters in the new Harry Potter book,” said forum co-founder Connie Wilkins.

“Whatever your political persuasion, you can’t possibly condone this attack on free expression by an unaccountable, unelected bureaucracy,” wrote Kathy Shaidle of Toronto, who denounced the complaint as a “secular fatwa” on her widely read Relapsed Catholic blog.

July 24, 2007 – “Jihad in the way of Allah, for the cause of Allah, can be pursued either with your financial resources or your bodily strength when you go to fight the enemy in the battlefield. So jihad, the highest form, is fighting in the cause of Allah.”

These words did not emanate from a Middle Eastern mosque. They aired on a “multi-faith” Canadian TV channel last week. The speaker was Israr Ahmad, who operates a bookstore and religious seminary in Lahore, Pakistan. Ahmad is also the leader of Tanzeem-e Islami, a group that wants to transform Pakistan into a fundamentalist Islamic state and to make it a base for Islam’s eventual global domination.

After a listener complained about the broadcast, reporting that it stated Muslims have the obligation to wage jihad until Islam dominates the world, station head Mark Prasuhn offered this lame defense: “Definitely, the viewer is correct. [Mr. Ahmad] does make the point about, you either contribute financially or through your body, and he uses the word fight. But none of this, as far as I could see, is in any way correlated or referenced to the present day. It is strictly a historical context and reading of the Koran by a Koranic scholar.”

Prasuhn’s defense of his station’s broadcast is wrong for two reasons.

First, it is the disingenuous defense that Muslim apologists often level against critics of Islam: that they take things out of context, while Islam’s pronouncements about Jews, Christians, and jihad are tied to specific historical situations. The problem with this defense is that even today, in the world’s most prominent and respected mosques, these same teachings are wrenched from their context and applied to the present. Today’s Jews are called “apes and pigs,” today’s Christians are “idol worshippers,” and today is the day of jihad. This is only natural, since Islam considers the Qur’an God’s eternal word not limited by time or place.

Second, a familiarity with Mr. Ahmad’s own writings makes his intentions clear. He predicts the “global domination of Islam,” calls Jews “parasites,” claims the Holocaust is their “divine punishment,” and looks toward the “total extermination” of the Jewish people. He writes in his book Lessons from History that Pakistan will spearhead Islam’s revival because only Pakistan “has the potential for standing up against the nefarious designs of the global power-brokers and to resist the rising tides of the Jewish/Zionist hegemony.” He predicts that Islamic rule will emerge in four stages: the Ultimate World War in the Middle East, the appearance of the Anti-Christ, the extermination of the Jews, and the “domination of Islam over the entire globe.”

So it is safe to conclude that in his broadcast Ahmad was not referring to ancient history.

Such expressions of religious hatred are becoming increasingly common, even in the West. Those who preach it do not predict the domination of “Islamism,” an unfortunate euphemism whose purpose is to deny an ugly truth. They are speaking of Islam. We may call it radical Islam, in the hope that other forms of Islam exist and will begin to assert more influence. But there can be no doubt that it is Islam.

My preferred term for “Islamism” is “radical Islam.” My preferred term for “Islamist” is “Islamic extremist.” These terms respect the Muslim authorities who so interpret their religion. They, not non-Muslims, have the right to tell us what Islam is. As Melanie Phillips stated,

* Obviously another PR stunt by ‘Egypt’s official religious adviser’- the Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa, who is, like all good Muslims, concerned about ‘the image of Islam’- as if it could get any worse. But you got to hand it to them: Muslims are rather persistent to pull the wool over infidel eyes and ears. Meanwhile, the Christian Copts, the remaining 8 to 1o million of the original inhabitants of Egypt, are living in fear of violent reprisals (‘Backlash’ yours truly) and are discriminated as dhimmi’s, subjected to ‘protected peoples’ status and forced to pay the ‘jiziyah.’

Should ancient statues be destroyed or preserved? Should women be allowed to drive, to work, to travel without permission of men? Can boys and girls attend school together? Is it permissible to buy insurance, to wear a sports jersey with a cross design, to shake hands with a non-Muslim, to take pictures, to view family photographs? All of this has been addressed in fatwas. Recently we had some hilariously stupid fatwa’s, like the breastfeeding fatwa and the urine fatwa. There have also been fatwa’s about female genital mutilation which is practised by about 97% of Egypt’s population. But how many hundred years before such a ‘culture’ can change?

Egypt’s official religious advisor has ruled that Muslims are free to change their faith as it is a matter between an individual and God, in a move which could have far-reaching implications for the country’s Christians.

“The essential question before us is can a person who is Muslim choose a religion other than Islam? The answer is yes, they can,” Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa said in a posting on a Washington Post-Newsweek forum picked up by the Egyptian press.

* Sure, they can. But they will end up in jail or dead. Usually both….

“The act of abandoning one’s religion is a sin punishable by God on the Day of Judgement. If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment,” he wrote.

In most Muslim countries, Muslims who convert to another religion are considered apostates and can be subject to capital punishment.

Mr Gomaa warned however that if the conversions undermine the “foundations of society” then it must be dealt with by the judicial system, without elaborating.

* Got it. People have a right to chose Islam. If they chose another religion it ‘undermines the foundations of society’- which means Islamic law applies and that means capital punishment. Why didn’t you say so, Ali?

Attempts by Muslims in Egypt to convert to other religions have been hindered by the state’s refusal to recognise the change in official documents and in some cases have led to arrests and imprisonment.

Cairo: Egypt’s top cleric yesterday denied in a statement that he had said a Muslim can give up his faith without punishment.
Ali Goma’a, the mufti of Egypt, was quoted as saying in a posting on a Washington Post-Newsweek forum that Muslims are free to change their faith and this is a matter between an individual and God.

“What I actually said is that Islam prohibits a Muslim from changing his religion and that apostasy is a crime, which must be punished,” Goma’a said.

The alleged fatwa coincides with an uproar over the case of 12 Egyptians who converted to Islam from Christianity and now want to re-embrace Christianity.

“There is a campaign by secularists to distort the image of Dr Ali Goma’a,” a senior official in Al Azhar told Gulf News.

“He cannot deny punishment in this life for the apostate,” said Mustafa Al Chaka of the Islamic Research Centre.

Egypt’s Mufti affirms religious freedom, sort of
First he said it — or at least seemed to say it: Muslims could leave Islam without fear of incurring a death sentence. Then he didn’t say it.

Actually, Ali Gomaa’s position has been consistent throughout this mini-imbroglio. He says the apostate should be killed not because he has left Islam, but because he is a threat to society. In his original statement that many understood as calling for an end to the death penalty for apostasy, he says: “If the case in question is one of merely rejecting faith, then there is no worldly punishment. If, however, the crime of undermining the foundations of the society is added to the sin of apostasy, then the case must be referred to a judicial system whose role is to protect the integrity of the society….” Now he says, “I discussed the fact that throughout history, the worldly punishment for apostasy in Islam has been applied only to those who, in addition to their apostasy, actively engaged in the subversion of society.”

In an Islamic society, of course, any apostate could be seen as “actively engaged in the subversion of society,” since he would no longer be following Sharia which is that society’s highest law, so this is no guarantee of religious freedom at all. But one could argue — although the Mufti himself is not necessarily arguing — that this should mean that apostates from Islam who live in non-Muslim countries should be left alone. When we see the Mufti issuing proclamations to the effect that Islamic apostates in Virginia need not hire armed guards for their convention, we may be getting somewhere.

A former Guantanamo Bay prisoner who took up arms alongside the Taliban after he was released from detention has blown himself up to avoid capture, Pakistani security forces said today.

Abdullah Mehsud killed himself with a hand grenade after he was cornered by troops at a house in the south-western Pakistani town of Zhob. He was wanted for the kidnapping of two Chinese engineers in 2004.

“My information is that (he) killed himself,” said Atta Mohammed, the head of the police in Zhob. “Thanks be to God that only he was blown up and our men were safe.”

Mehsud, 32, was released from the US detention centre in Cuba after two years in 2004 but immediately went back to violence when the Pakistani government began an offensive against the Taliban in the troubled region along the border with Afghanistan.

That female is our child’s murderer. She was sentenced to sixteen life sentences or 320 years which she is serving in an Israeli jail. Fifteen people were killed and more than a hundred maimed and injured by the actions of this attractive person and her associates.

PARIS, France (Reuters) — Six foreign medics convicted of infecting hundreds of Libyan children with HIV have left Libya for Bulgaria aboard a French presidential jet, France said on Tuesday.

Rossen Markov wears a T-shirt that reads “Justice for our medics in Libya” in Bulgarian and English.

“The aircraft of the French republic has taken off from Libya bound for Sofia with the five Bulgarian nurses and the doctor of Palestinian origin on board,” the French presidency said in a statement.

“The French President, Mr Nicolas Sarkozy, and the President of the European Commission, Mr Jose Manuel Barroso, welcome the agreement that has at last allowed this release and the return to Bulgaria of the nurses held for more than eight years, and of the Palestinian doctor,” the statement said.

Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the medics had left Libya.

“They have left their airport in Libya and are now flying … We expect in them in Sofia,” Deputy Foreign Minister Feim Chaushev told Reuters.

The medics, who spent over eight years in Libyan jail, were accompanied by EU External Relations Commissioner Benita Ferrero-Waldner and France’s First Lady Cecilia Sarkozy, Chaushev said. The two were in Tripoli to help release the medics, who say they are innocent.

The French statement also welcomed the setting up of improved health care for children suffering from AIDS in Libya.

Libya lifted death sentences against the medics last week and commuted them to terms of life imprisonment.

These collections are called Hadith and form the second most authoritative document is Islam, right after the Koran.)According to this page, the specific Hadith in which the number of virgins is specified is Hadith Al-Tirmidhi in the Book of Sunah (volume IV, chapters on The Features of Paradise as described by the Messenger of Allah, chapter 21, About the Smallest Reward for the People of Paradise. The same hadith is also quoted by Ibn Kathir in his Koranic commentary (Tafsir) of Surah Al-Rahman:

So it isn’t the case that only martyrs get the virgins, but the only way to get the virgins is to get to heaven, and Koran is quite specific that the only way to be certain of getting to heaven is to die in Jihad.

TORONTO – A day after saying it regretted broadcasting a lecture by a Pakistani preacher who says Muslim scripture advocates violent holy war and the “extermination” of Jews, VisionTV put him back on the air again this weekend.
A leading Jewish organization said yesterday it would launch a formal complaint with Canadian broadcast regulators after Vision aired another hour-long talk by fundamentalist Israr Ahmad on Saturday.

The preacher’s reappearance on Canadian television came as a surprise to some, since VisionTV had issued a statement on Friday expressing regret for broadcasting Mr. Ahmad’s lecture on violent jihad on July 14.

But despite the statement, Vision aired another lecture Saturday afternoon by Mr. Ahmad, who compares Jews to “parasites,” describes the Holocaust as “divine punishment” and calls Jews “condemned.”
“It is most troubling that VisionTV made a calculated decision to re-broadcast a segment featuring a radical Imam, whose words have the potential to incite hatred and violence,” Frank Dimant of B’nai Brith Canada said yesterday.
“It is a complete abdication of their responsibility to knowingly give a platform to this individual whose calls for jihad can clearly be interpreted by his supporters as a call to engage in terrorism. B’nai Brith Canada will be launching a formal complaint with the CRTC calling for a full investigation of this matter.”
Canadian Jewish Congress spokesman Len Rudner said he was “deeply concerned that Vision continues to provide a podium from which Israr Ahmad can speak and gain credibility.
“It’s fair to say that we know what Mr. Ahmad stands for, the question now is whether or not VisionTV wishes to associate itself in any manner with an individual who holds such a hateful agenda.”
Vision, which is available in 7.8 million Canadian households, has a strict code of ethics that forbids the broadcast of programs that could incite violence, overseas conflicts or strife between religions. Vision could not be reached for comment yesterday.

Last week, a Vision executive, Mark Prasuhn, described “Dr. Ahmad” as a religious scholar –he is a medical doctor –-and in a recent interview the preacher acknowledged that he was not welcome in Canada. “I had no official information about a ban [from entering Canada] but I understood that I was not in the good books of the U.S. and the West, especially after 9 /11, due to my concept of radical Islam; which demands a Muslim to struggle against the prevailing corrupt and exploitative system in the world,” he said.

Mr. Ahmad heads a self-described “revolutionary” organization called Tanzeem-e Islami, which wants to turn Pakistan into a fundamentalist Islamic state and a launch pad for the global domination of Islam.
Although he is a popular speaker in Pakistan, Mr. Ahmad’s theories about a Jewish conspiracy to secretly rule the world through banking institutions have given him little credibility outside the Muslim world.
The controversy comes as Canadian authorities are struggling to deal with a growing number of Islamist extremists who support terrorism against the West. The Canadian Security Intelligence Service says many youths have been influenced by radical spiritual leaders.
Mr. Ahmad’s followers in Canada include terror suspect Qayyum Abdul Jamal, arrested last summer for his alleged role in a plot to detonate truck bombs in downtown Toronto.
