Mainstream media stories are all reporting that Fariq Abdul Hamid was “religious” as if that were an indication that he couldn’t have been involved in the plane’s disappearance. The fact that Osama bin Laden and Anwar al-Awlaki and Khaled Sheikh Mohammed and Feisal Shahzad and Abdulhakim Mujaid Muhammad and John Walker Lindh and Adam Gadahn and a host of other Islamic jihadists living and dead were or are “religious” never seems to occur to these “journalists” — or maybe they just don’t want it to occur to you.

Rumors have it that Malaysian pilot Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah took part in tabligh (Islamic missionary) and had expressed his wish to contribute to Islamic schools.

(Muslim)  pilots who had worked with the veteran colleague over the years said they did not believe that he was capable of sabotaging his own flight.

Two thumbs up for his courage, decency and honest reporting! When it comes to Islam critique,  Australia’s extreme left journaillie engages in  vilification, smears and derision against anyone who dares to speak up,  only to run to the next Muslim spokesturd to get their “out of context” suppository.  Good to see that Paul Sheehan  did not fall for the  prescribed political correctness and the groupthink most of his colleagues have succumbed to.

Major Bernie Gaynor jnr has served three tours of duty in Iraq but he is going to be thrown out of the army this week, or next, or very soon. And he is not going quietly.

Last week, I attended a conference in Melbourne called the Symposium on Islam and Liberty in Australia, organised by the Q Society, and Gaynor was one of the speakers. I also interviewed him at length about why a patriotic, articulate Australian intelligence officer, now serving in the Army Reserve, has become an unbearable presence for the Chief of Army, among others.

In his blog, Gaynor describes himself as ”a conservative Catholic who writes what normal men dare not speak out loud”. I put it to him that his commentary online and on Twitter had evolved into a provocation to the army.

”Absolutely,” he replied.

Everyone listening to his speech in Melbourne quickly understood why, and I quote: ”It is my unpleasant duty to inform you that the Australian Defence Force has a fundamentally broken approach to religion, an approach shaped partly by the triumph of bureaucratic administration over battlefield considerations but mostly by plain old political correctness.
