The same reporters and commentators who insist that it is absurd to worry about sharia coming to the West are, in fact, ideologically arm-in-arm with those in authority who are aggressively introducing sharia-style laws in the West, prosecuting speech that violates those laws, and issuing dark warnings — in tones unbefitting public officials in a free country — that you had better learn to be sharia-compliant or you will be sorry. The real lesson of all this is that we had better learn to be aggressive in our resistance to this proliferation of sharia-influenced prohibitions or we will, indeed, end up being very, very sorry.
Last September, a man named Mark Feigin posted five comments on the Facebook page of an Islamic center. They were not Islam-friendly. “THE MORE MUSLIMS WE ALLOW INTO AMERICA,” he wrote, “THE MORE TERROR WE WILL SEE.” He called Islam “dangerous” and said it has “no place in western civilization.” A couple of his comments included vulgar or profane language. On December 20, the State of California sued Feigin, charging him with violation of a penal code that reads, in part:
“Every person who, with intent to annoy or harass, makes repeated telephone calls or makes repeated contact by means of an electronic communication device… to another person is… guilty of a misdemeanor.”
According to the state Attorney General’s office, Feigin was guilty of a crime because he had engaged in “repeated harassment” of people whose religion he sought to “mock and disparage.”

The spate of African crime has divided public opinion on the severity of the issue.
Immigration Minister Peter Dutton recently made comments about Melbourne people being too afraid to go out for dinner, a claim which was stubbornly refuted by residents.
Labor accuses the federal Liberal government of playing politics with African crime in Victoria. But Labor has played politics with ethnicity for decades. The result is a booming industry that trades in a culture of complaint and blame-shifting. The industry is funded by the taxpaying public but breeds hostility towards Australians. Its beneficiaries enjoy access to special funding and affirmative action while claiming to be oppressed. Its leaders cry racism but can rationalise racist violence when the aggressors are black and the victims are white.
It takes a long time for ideologues to concede error. One would have thought a mob of African males invading a home and punching a woman in the face might make multiculturalists repent. Perhaps a mob of African males attacking teens on the street might stir Melbourne’s green-left to unmitigated sympathy — for the victims.

Rohingya “Militants” in Myanmar Claim Responsibility for Attack
Rohingyarebels attacked an army truck in Myanmar’s restive Rakhine state and wounded five soldiers, state media said.
“A vehicle … was attacked by 20 insurgents from the mountain using homemade mines and small arms,” the government said, adding about 10 rebels were involved.
Arsa has carried out only sporadic attacks, but early on 25 August last year, it launched assaults on about 30 police and army posts, triggering a fierce military response.

BANGKOK — A resistance group in Myanmar claimed responsibility on Sunday for an ambush of government forces in Rakhine State that left three people wounded, saying it had no choice but to defend the Rohingya from “state-sponsored terrorism.”
In a statement posted on Twitter, Atta Ullah, who identifies himself as commander of the rebel group, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army, said the attack on Friday morning in Maungdaw had been staged in response to efforts by Myanmar’s security forces to drive the Rohingya, a Muslim minority in a Buddhist-majority country, from the area.
Mr. Atta Ullah accused government forces of continuing to kill civilians, rape women and destroy villages in a campaign of genocide.
More than 650,000 Rohingya have fled to Bangladesh since the Myanmar military began its campaign in late August, joining roughly 87,000 who had fled earlier. Survivors have given consistent, harrowing accounts of gang rapes, torture, random killings and the destruction of villages.
The campaign against the Rohingya has been called “ethnic cleansing” by the United States and the United Nations.
Arsa operates in Rakhine state in northern Myanmar, where the Rohingya people have faced persecution. The Myanmar government has denied them citizenship and sees them as illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. Clashes erupt periodically between ethnic groups, but in the past year, an armed Rohingya insurgency has grown.
TEL AVIV — The U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which ministers to so-called Palestinian refugees, would not comment when asked by Breitbart Jerusalem to provide the total number of Palestinian “refugees” that UNRWA services in Lebanon.
This after Lebanon’s census data recently placed the number of Palestinian “refugees” living in the country at about one third of the nearly 500,000 reported by UNRWA.
UNRWA runs camps and projects for so-called Palestinian refugees in the West Bank, Gaza, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. On its website UNRWA claims “5.1 million refugees” are “covered by our protection mandate,” purportedly including about 500,000 in Lebanon.
Washington has frozen a $125 million payment to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency that was scheduled for January 1, according to a report citing unnamed diplomats. UNRWA provides aid to Palestinian refugees.

A group of ex-Muslim converts to Catholicism are criticizing Pope Francis’ approach to Islam. In an open letter to the Holy Father recently published online, the former Muslims say the pope’s teaching on Islam as it appears in the apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (EG) implies that Islam is a good religion in itself.
If Islam is in itself a good religion, as you seem to teach, why did we become Catholic?” they ask. “Do not your words question the goodness of the choice we made … at the risk of our lives?”
The Pope has to answer this question. He cannot simply walk away from this. Catholics worldwide deserve an answer. Converts deserve an answer. Converts from Islam who have risked their lives to become Catholics deserve an answer. Does Pope Francis believe that Islam is superior to Catholicism? If so, why doesn’t he convert? Does he think that those who converted to Catholicism from Islam, risking their very lives, have made a terrible error? Perhaps he believes that yes, on the whole, Catholicism is just an eensy-weensy bit better than Islam, but not enough for anyone to risk his life by converting to it. Victoria police have revealed confronting photos of men rioting outside one of Milo Yiannopoulos’ conferences during his controversial visit to Australia in December.
Thirteen men are wanted over the violent altercation, which erupted in Melbourne after the secret Kensington location was leaked by Yiannopoulos’ critics.
Left-wing protesters descended onto Stubbs Avenue, in the city’s north-west, on the afternoon of December 4 ahead of the right-wing firebrand’s speech.
Germany isn’t the only nominally free country cracking down on free speech. In the name of suppressing “fake news,” France is at it too. Weenie in Chief Emmanuel Macron announced new rules yesterday:
“When fake news [is] spread, it will be possible to go to a judge … and if appropriate have content taken down, user accounts deleted and ultimately websites blocked,” Macron said. …
Sites that distribute fake news would face punishment and media regulators would have more power to fight them.
Given that virtually all news is characterized by spin, what exactly is fake news? Whatever the regulators say it is.
Alarmingly, the EU has “launched a high-level group of experts” to address the menace of supposedly fake news.
Freedom won’t die by a frontal assault. It will die because we let the authorities convince us that Muslims’ hurt feelings and preventing “fake news” are more important than being able to speak your mind without interference from the government.
The editor in chief of Bild, one of the top newspapers in Germany, harshly criticized a very new law Thursday that aims to significantly reduce online hate speech, while still protecting other forms of expression.
The law, which came into effect at the start of the new year, was used almost immediately, with authorities in the country already launching an investigation into Breatrix von Storch, deputy leader of the country’s far-right party Alternative for Germany (AfD). The politician is suspected of violating the new rules by equating many Muslims to “barbarians” in posts published on Facebook and Twitter.
“Please spare us the thought police!” a headline in Bild’s Wednesday edition read.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán of Hungary and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki of Poland have predicted a “year of great battles” with the EU establishment at a summit in Budapest.
“We don’t want to live in an empire. For us, the European Union is still the alliance of free European nations”, declared the veteran Orbán, who has been in office since 2010.
“The EU’s immigration policy is not working. What is more, it is not only not working but it has failed spectacularly,” he said.
“It’s clear that European people don’t want immigration, while some European leaders are still enforcing the failed immigration policy.
