Switzerland tightens rules for mosques and imams

The Swiss National Council, the parliament’s lower house, voted by a narrow majority to ban the financing of mosques from abroad and increase the transparency regarding the funding of mosques.

The Swiss parliament is preparing to take action mosques and imams in the country in order to control the mosques that are reported to have connection with jihadist groups and foreign intelligence agencies, especially Turkish MİT.

The draft bill lodged by the Lega dei Ticinesi party aims to tighten the rules for mosques in Switzerland. It was approved by 94 votes in favour with 89 against in the National Council, and was submitted to the Swiss Senate for approval.

According to the new bill, mosques in Switzerland should not be financed from abroad and imams should be obliged to preach in a Swiss national language; French, German, Italian or Romansh.

In addition to that, with regard to the financing, the mosques will have to declare where their financial backing came from and for what purpose the money would be used.

Although the Swiss government and Federal Council opposes the draft bill it has a popular support.

There are more than 20 mosques in Switzerland that are suspected of having ties with radical/jihadist organizations. A number of them are operating under Turkish Religious Foundation of Switzerland which is supported by Turkey.

Steyn: ‘In the Space of About 20 Minutes, We’ve Gone From ‘The Confederate Flag Is Racist’ to ‘The Star-Spangled Banner Is Racist”

Friday on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” conservative commentator Mark Steyn reacted to the report that a Massachusetts librarian deemed the works of children’s book author Dr. Seuss as racist.

Steyn pointed out how things being deemed as racist as progressed in recent months, including the national anthem and Dr. Seuss.

“I think when you said, it’s trashing anything older than the milk in your fridge – that’s right, Tucker,” Steyn said. “This is like year zero in Cambodia. The world has to be created anew. So, in the space of about 20 minutes, we have gone from the Confederate flag is racist to ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ is racist. We’ve gone from General Lee is racist to Dr. Seuss is racist. We have gone from, ‘Way down on the levee in old Ala-bammy’ is minstrelsy to ‘The Cat in the Hat’ is minstrelsy, which is actually this librarian’s argument. I looked up the piece she referenced in the ‘Journal of Social Justice Librarians’ or whatever it is, and it is incredibly moronic. It is part of the dumbing down of American society.”

“The piece argues that the Cat in the Hat’s bow tie is meant to be an evocation of 19th-century racist minstrel shows,” he continued. “Now just off the top of my head, cartoon characters who wear bow ties — Porky Pig, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Huckleberry Hound. Yogi Bear doesn’t wear a bow, he wears a tie like me, but his boy sidekick Boo Boo the Bear wears a bow tie. Ambrosia, I think the name is, in ‘My Little Pony’ wears a bow tie. I’m not one of the many men in the western world who are obsessed with ‘My Little Pony’ and have ‘My Little Pony’ parties, but I happen to know this one character in ‘My Little Pony’ wears a bow tie. Cartoon characters wear bow ties. That has nothing to do the minstrel shows. We are making ourselves a society too stupid to survive, as that California’s student demonstrates if we go down this path.”

Another head-scratcher for those who insist that the Islamic State has nothing to do with Islam or Sharia, and that those who joined it knew little and cared less about Islam.

Khadija al-Humri came to Raqqa by choice.

“I came for the Jihad, for Sharia and the Islamic State,” the 29-year-old Tunisian woman said, roughly four years after leaving her hometown along with her first husband.

“I really believed that there was a state where we could live like the Prophet.”

But Raqqa was not all it was made out to be. Khadija’s first husband was killed in battles with the Free Syrian Army, and the widow was transferred to a dormitory were unmarried women wait to be selected by ISIS fighters.

“It was horrible … I had to get married if I wanted to leave that place,” she said.

Her disenchantment would be expounded by the time she remarried. She described rampant drug abuse and a thriving sex trade in a city where people were killed for no reason. She recalled clashes between ISIS fighters and described a group of French ISIS brides who used to abuse Captagon, an amphetamine-based drug nicknamed the “Jihadi Pill.”

“My second husband who was an ISIS fighter opened my eyes,” she said. “He told me that the [Islamic State] did not exist. We had made a big mistake.”

Muslim ‘hate preacher’ has right to Swiss asylum revoked

A controversial Libyan Muslim preacher accused of spreading hate speech at a Biel mosque has officially had his right to asylum revoked by the Swiss authorities.

Ramadan has consistently refuted accusations of hate speech at the Biel mosque, arguing that his Arabic speech was mistranslated.

Being an asylum seeker in Switzerland, he’s received more than 600’000 Swiss Francs in aid.

The decision of Switzerland’s Federal Administrative Court in St Gallen is final and cannot be appealed. However, whether or not the 64-year-old Libyan national, Abu Ramadan, will be allowed to keep is residence permit and stay in Switzerland is up to the Bernese authorities to decide. Ramadan currently resides in Nidau, canton Bern.

Ramadan, who obtained Swiss asylum in 1998 and has drawn regular social security benefits for the past 13 years, holds a Libyan passport and has made some dozen visits to his homeland since 2013. The last trip, in 2017, lasted over a month. The Swiss court argued that Ramadan made these journeys despite knowing that a recognised refugee must not return to his or her country of origin, as this is a violation of refugee status.

The court’s ruling confirms an earlier decision by the State Secretariat for Migration on Ramadan’s asylum status.

The story of Ramadan’s “hate preaching” at the Ar’Rahman mosque in Biel, canton Bern, was first broken by Swiss Public Radio, SRF, and the Tages Anzeiger in August when a recording was circulated that featured the preacher calling for the destruction of Jews, Christians, Russians and Shia Muslims. However, Ramadan denied being an imam at the mosque, and argued that he had not been engaging in hate speech, citing an inaccurate translation of his words from Arabic.

Whilst our reliably-Islamophile press and any number of Useful Idiot intellectuals predictably wail and wring their hands  on behalf oft the so-called ‘Rohingya’ Muslims in Myanmar – whose ‘plight’ appears for the moment to have entirely eclipsed the previously-most fashionable ‘progressive’ cause du jour, that of the so-called ‘poor “Palestinians”‘ [i.e. of  a carefully re-branded subset of the local Arab Muslims in and around Israel, who have been used for decades by the Ummah as stalking-horses, much as the Sudetendeutsch were used by Hitler against Czechoslovakia] – the ethnically Melanesian indigenous peoples of West Papua, overwhelmingly and ancestrally, historically non-Muslim (originally animist, now mostly Christian) have been and are being crushed by ethnically-Malay, overwhelmingly-Muslim and suffused-with-Islam Indonesia, which has not a shred of a real historic claim to any part of the island of New Guinea.  If people-group A and people-group B, historically different and separate in every imaginable way, were for a period of time ruled by the same colonial ruler (C), does that really imply that the rulers of people-group A have a natural and absolute right to dominate and domineer over – indeed, to steadily dispossess and destroy – people-group B, after C departs?  But that is what Indonesia insists; and what Indonesia is doing – dispossessing and destroying, and by so doing, not coincidentally, expanding the Dar al Islam.  And the world in general seems to think this is a jolly good thing and that Muslim Indonesia has every right to thus behave.

Now, we hear a report of an underground petition in favour of West Papuan Independence – which if achieved  would mean the pushing back of the borders of the Dar al Islam and then either the creation of a new free Infidel sovereign state, West Papua, or else its union in some form with its neighbour to the east, the ethnically Melanesian and majority-Christian Infidel sovereign state, Papua-New Guinea. which inhabits the eastern half of that same island of New Guinea –  that has been quietly circulating from village to village among the native Infidels of Papua, garnering a vast number of signatures.

Taxpayer, call Anne Aly and demand your money back!

Deradicalization programs, upon which the West has placed so much hope, have long been an obvious failure. Such programs are based on the premise that the true teachings of Islam are peaceful, and so all that needs to be done is show the jihadis how they’re misunderstanding the Qur’an and overlooking its teachings of peace, and all will be well. But since the Qur’an and Sunnah are full of commands to make war against and subjugate unbelievers, the idea that jihadis can be “deradicalized” by reference to them is just a myth told to Infidel authorities to lull them into complacency.

Well, let’s see. De-radicalization programs have been implemented elsewhere, notably in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. Let’s look at how they fared. From the Jihad Watch archives:
