The man who opened fire on a police car on the Champs-Elysees has been identified as Karim C.

Today’s Paris attacker was an Islamic State terrorist who had previously opened fire on two police officers.

Karim C. was sentenced to two decades inside a high security prison in 2003 following the attacks in Roissy-en-Brie, also in Seine-et-Marne.

But he was let out early following an appeal ruling, giving him the freedom to carry out tonight’s attack.

Karim C. was the registered keeper of the grey Audi used in tonight’s attack.

A raid on his home later found guns and ammunition, said intelligence sources.

Karim C. had targeted a parked patrol car full of traffic control officers working to the Paris prefecture.

The officer killed was at the wheel and was having an evening snack at the time of his death.

A statement released through the Amaq News Agency, the news outlet associated with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, said Isis was responsible for tonight’s attack in Paris.

The terror organisation named the attacker as Abu Yousuf ‘the Belgian’.

Finally. At long last one of these preachers notices the obvious: Muslims are annihilating Christians in large numbers. High time something is done about it. And its not “interfaith dialogue” that’s needed here.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Nearly one Christian is killed every hour around the world for practicing their faith, said the Archbishop of the U.S. capital.

Cardinal Donald Wuerl made those comments on Thursday while delivering the keynoteaddress during the one-day symposium at the National Press Club focused on Christian prosecution.

The event featured the release of a report by the University of Notre Dame’s Under Caesar’s Sword project titled, “In Response to Persecution.”

Christian persecution is a worldwide phenomenon, noted the Washington archbishop.

“Reports suggest that about 200 million Christians around the world are at risk of physical violence, arrest, torture, even death simply because they live and practice a faith that is not acceptable to the rulers in that part of the world,” he pointed out.

The Project’s Waleed Aly has claimed the government’s tougher citizenship rules are Malcolm Turnbull‘s attempt to climb himself out of political trouble.

The TV personality said the move was based on ‘politics’ and compared the prime minister to former PM John Howard during a heated debate with Steve Price on Thursday.

‘Malcolm Turnbull is in political trouble now and he pulls the same sort of reign now. Don’t you think people will see through the really transparent politics of this?’ Aly told Price.

Mr Turnbull announced this week the government will require citizen applicants to face an English test and commit to embracing Australian values.

Here in Oz,  ABC talking heads babble stupidly about “could have been a robbery….” but hey, lets go to sports, much more important, right?

Islamic Terrorists pulled up next to French police while they were stopped at a red light and opened up with a Kalashnikov.

French Interior Ministry spokesman Pierre-Henry Brandet said police officers were deliberately targeted in the Paris Champs Elysees avenue shooting, but it is too early to say what the motive was.

Update:  Police say one gunman dead

Two police officers have been shot dead by a gunman in Paris in what officials have described as a likely “terrorist” attack.

….two attackers are involved, with one on the run and the other shot dead at the scene, an interior ministry source confirmed.

The gunman killed at the scene was known to security sources with officers searching his home to the east of Paris, a police source said.

One eyewitness said a man got out of a car and began shooting “with a Kalashnikov”, hitting a policeman.

As armed police rushed to the scene, a police source said shots have been fired at a new location near the Champs Elysees Avenue.

One policeman and the attacker have been killed and at least one other officer wounded in what French officials suspect was a terror attack.

Reports state that a policeman was stopped at a red light in his patrol car when the attacker pulled up next to him, shot and killed the officer. The attacker then shot and wounded another officer a short distance away.

Suspect in Paris terror attack on the run is Youssouf El Osri.

A person Muslim who fired on police on the Champs-Elysees shopping boulevard just days ahead of France’s presidential election has been killed, the source said. A police source also said there had been two assailants, and a witness told Reuters that one man got out of a car at the scene and began shooting with a machine gun.

Police authorities called on the public to avoid the area.
