This gets to the heart of why The XYZ was founded. In Australia, we fund the ABC to the tune of $1,000,000,000 a year. The XYZ has modelled itself as a classical liberal/cultural libertarian foil to the Cultural Marxist ABC, choosing letters at the opposite end of the alphabet and even aping its logo. When The XYZ demands half of the ABC’s budget, a full $500,000,000, we are only half-kidding. The reality is, it is not fair to fund a propaganda arm for one side of politics to this exorbitant extent, a propaganda arm which, regardless of how many “progressive”-led “enquiries” maintaining the contrary, is most certainly in breach of its charter. We really have two options: privatise the ABC so it can be free to pursue its left-wing agenda without extorting the Australian taxpayer; or fund to an equal extent its equivalent, which will present an opposite point of view to the ABC.

Thus, The XYZ exists to oppose a publicly funded institution setting the national political agenda. As a movement, classical liberals, cultural libertarians, anarcho-libertarians, anybody who is committed to free speech and free markets, must attack these institutions, to either get an equal footing inside them, reform them, or bring them down completely. In this respect, The XYZ was inspired by organisations such as Breitbart News, PJTV, Truth Revolt, Info Wars and Free Domain radio, which have been working tirelessly, some for the good part of a decade, to challenge the politically correct narrative of the mainstream media.

And what do Muslim candidates ultimately push? Muslim interests ie more Muslim immigration, more money to Muslim groups, Sharia law etc etc. This is just another step in shoring up the Muslim interests in this country and another step in marginalising Australians in their own country…

Moscow, July 12, Interfax – The imam of the Yardyam Mosque in the north-east of Moscow, Makhmud Velitov, has been detained on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activity and has been taken to an investigator, a source in law enforcement agencies told Interfax.

Officers of law enforcement agencies detained Velitov on Tuesday on suspicion of complicity in terrorist activity. The imam has already been taken to the Russian Investigative Committee’s district department for questioning, the source said.

Investigators intend to bring charges of ‘publicly calling for terrorist activity or publicly justifying terrorism’ against the imam, who may face from two to five years in prison if found guilty, he said.

The source, however, did not say in exactly what crimes Velitov was implicated.

Interfax has so far been unable to obtain official confirmation of this report from law enforcement agencies.

The Myth of the Non-Muslim Terrorist

The notorious Loonwatch.com site has been claiming that 94% of all terror attacks have nothing to do with Islam.  What they aren’t saying is that according to their own source, Muslims are 35 times more likely to commit acts of deadly terror – and that’s just in the United States.
Since January, 2010 the Islamic propaganda outlet, Loonwatch.com, has prominently posted an article with the title “All Terrorists are Muslim… except the 94% that aren’t.”  Although not saying exactly who it is that believes “all terrorists are Muslim”, the gist of the piece is that an FBI report from seven years ago concluded that the vast majority of attacks have nothing to do with Islam.

As Loonwatch puts it:

• Only 6% of terror attacks are by Muslims
•  7% of terrorism is by Jewish extremists
• 66% of terror attacks are by leftists and Latinos

This would appear to defy common sense.  Reports of bombings, shootings, stabbings and even beheadings by terrorists cross the newswire each day.  Some are indeed the work of communist groups or nationalists, but the vast majority are clearly the product of Islamic extremists who kill in the name of religion.

Loonwatch is playing a couple of tricks here – the biggest being that they are drawing on domestic data only.  In other words, when they say that 94% of terrorists aren’t Muslim, they actually mean in the United States, where terror attacks are relatively rare and Muslims make up only 1% of the population.

The Lebanese Muslim Association called her a hate preacher. Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane compared her with Brexit and Donald Trump — all proof of xenophobia and racism.

The leftist party line is settled; Hanson is racist and divisive. Three words come to mind. Pot. Kettle. Black.

Western civilisation has been transformed … into a malformed neo-Marxist culture where minority groups manufactured for political purposes are bestowed with …  often superior rights to their fellow citizens under discrimination and affirmative action measures…

We have arrived at a point in Western history where thought crimes justify a regime of codified prejudice that privileges manufactured minorities while censoring dissenters who dare cry the emperor has no clothes..

In the race case before the Federal Circuit Court, students were barred from a computer lab at the Queensland University of Technology because of their race. One would presume the prima facie case of race discrimination would be against the person who barred their access. But the staff member who turned the students away, indigenous woman Cindy Prior, filed a complaint against them under the Racial Discrimination Act…

[Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim] Soutphommasane …  declined to comment on the QUT case as it is before the court, but cited “special measures” in a brief statement.

The commission promotes special measures as “positive actions” that “protect disadvantaged racial groups”. It justifies the measures “as an exception to the general rule that all racial groups must be treated the same”…

It didn’t end well for Clive Palmer and it won’t end well for Pauline Hanson. Going to an election on a wonky platform inevitably ends in tears.

Sure, Pauline Hanson has a fan base, but so did Clive with more MPs than Hanson.

Where’s PUP today? It’s where One Nation will end up next election if Hanson doesn’t get her act together.

Hanson has been caught out copying and pasting her polices from various internet sites. I first pointed this out a few days after the July 2 election. She’s not one for doing her own homework, but pinching the work of others.

It’s bad enough rushing to an election on the back of others’ hard work, but its worse when you don’t bother to spend the time familiarising yourself with the policies you’ve nicked. Watching Pauline Hanson struggle through an interview, without a clue on the issues she’s meant to represent is painfully excruciating.

Reports today chronicle an assortment of One Nation party policies plagiarised from Wikipedia and various other political websites (including the Australian Q Society, the founding base of the Australian Liberty Alliance).

For example, she’s accused of publishing a medicinal cannabis policy similar to an entry on Wikipedia that states, “The ancient Egyptians used hemp (cannabis) in suppositories for relieving the pain of hemorrhoids [sic].”

“Surviving texts from ancient India confirm that cannabis’ psychoactive properties were recognized, and doctors used it for treating a variety of illnesses and ailments, including insomnia, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, and pain, including during childbirth,”

The One Nation website reads: “The ancient Egyptians used hemp (cannabis) in suppositories for relieving the pain of haemorrhoids … In ancient India, doctors used it for treating a variety of illnesses and ailments, including insomnia, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders, and pain, including during childbirth.” (source ABC).

The One Nation website also claims, “The estimated worth of Halal accreditation worldwide is in excess of $2.5 trillion per annum.”

This is misleading at best. It’s not the accreditation (i.e. halal certification) but the Halal food market worth $2.5 trillion. There’s a difference. Most halal food globally is not certified.

After the election Hanson posted a video on her Facebook page chatting from her kitchen pouring halal-certified Coles milk into her tea. For this she was rightly caught out. Hanson opposes halal certification, campaigning on policies to make halal certification illegal.

Halal certified milk (including Coles) and other foods are publicly listed on the Halal Choices website, a well researched consumer website founded by Kirralie Smith. There’s even a Halal Choices phone app so there really is no excuse for buying halal-certified milk if you’re so genuinely against it.

In response to the criticism of her using halal-certified milk, Hanson posted a photo on her Facebook page of two bottles of milk and the words:

In the year 2000, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was asked by the Los Angeles Times how the country was going to feed, house and employ the expected doubling of its population by 2050. She replied: “We’ll send them to America. Globalisation will take that problem away, as you free up all factors of production, also labour. There’ll be free movement, country to country. Globalisation in its purest form should not have any boundaries, so small countries with big populations should be able to send population to countries with big boundaries and small populations.”[2]

Hasina is essentially arguing that her nation needs more Lebensraum, and that other countries should meekly accept this. Several Muslim nations seem to attempt a similar policy of population dumping through mass migration. (More on the Gates of Vienna)

Election 2016: Labor’s Anne Aly claims victory in Cowan after vote count correction

Labor’s Anne Aly has claimed victory in the Perth-based seat of Cowan, becoming the first Muslim woman elected to the House of Representatives.

Dr Aly, an anti-terrorism and de-radicalisation expert, also believed the Liberal campaign to paint her as soft on terrorism backfired and did not lose her any votes.

Anne Aly is a Mohammedan agitprop. She is an agent of Islam. She is not, and never will be, an “anti-terrorism and de-radicalisation expert”. She will not act against Islamic terrorism or “de-radicalise” any jihadist. The whole idea is based on fraud and deception. It is based on false premises and mind boggling naiveté.

Incumbent Liberal MP Luke Simpkins has not conceded defeat, with the Liberal Party stating several thousand votes remained to be counted and it would wait to see how they fell.

But WA Labor says it has won the marginal West Australian seat.

The declaration came after the Australian Electoral Commission confirmed it had mistakenly placed about 200 Greens votes in Mr Simpkins’ pile in the northern booth of Tapping.

After preferences were allocated, Dr Aly received 160 of the votes pushing her lead against Mr Simpkins out to 787.

Labor calculated there was no way he could now close the gap, even though almost 10,000 mostly absentee votes remain to be tallied.

‘Diverse parliament in trying times a positive’

Dr Aly said she was humbled and looked forward to becoming a strong and fair voice in parliament for the Cowan community.

She said she recognised the significance of becoming the first Muslim woman in the Lower House of federal parliament.

“I think having a diverse parliament in these very trying times is an absolute positive and bodes well for the future of Australia,” Dr Aly told reporters.

During the campaign, Liberal frontbenchers criticised Dr Aly’s judgement, claiming she had provided support to radical Islamic preacher Junaid Thorne during his trial for flying with a false identity.

She countered it was a smear campaign and the de-radicalisation program she had suggested for Thorne was funded by the Coalition government.

Dr Aly said she did not think the criticism had played a huge role in the Cowan result.

“I do believe it backfired, whether or not it actually helped, I think that’s a long short to call, that’s a difficult call to make,” she said.

“But I do believe it did backfire. But it certainly didn’t lose me any votes.”

Mr Simpkins, who has held the seat since 2007, declined to comment.

The so called “Golden Age of Islam” was anything but. The Islamic invasion of Europe brought Science, Music & the Arts to a screeching halt. Muhammad believed  that Science & Maths were inspired by Satan & he prohibited its study, thereby putting an end to centuries of Arab astronomy. Since Muhammad, “Islamic science” is nothing other than Koran studies. Islam is a dead end for free scientific enquiry.

Islamic Spain in Middle Ages no paradise for Christians, Jews, women

There is a widely held belief that in Spain, during the European Middle Ages, Islam, Christianity and Judaism co-existed peacefully and fruitfully under a tolerant and enlightened Islamic hegemony. Dario Fernandez-Morera, associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese at Northwestern University in the US, with a PhD from Harvard, has written a stunning book that upends this myth.

The myth itself has been a comforting and even inspiring story that has underpinned the so-called Toledo Principles regarding religious tolerance in our time. It has buttressed the belief that Islam was a higher civilisation than that of medieval Europe in the eighth to 12th centuries and that the destruction of this enlightened and sophisticated Andalusia should be lamented.

The great Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca, a century ago, saw it that way. US President Barack Obama and The Economist magazine have both very recently cited Muslim Andalusia as evidence that Islam has been a religion of peace and tolerance. In short, the myth of Andalusia has been a beacon of hope for working with Islam in today’s world with a common commitment to civilised norms.

This vision was spelled out in Maria Rosa Menocal’s The Ornament of the World: How Muslims, Jews and Christians Created a Culture of Tolerance in Medieval Spain (2002) and reinforced by David Levering Lewis’s God’s Crucible: Islam and the Making of Europe, 570-1215 (2008). But it has deep roots. Edward Gibbon, in his famous 18th-century history of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, wrote in glowing terms of the 10th-century Umayyad caliphate in Spain as a beacon of enlightenment, learning and urban living, at a time when Europe was plunged in bigotry, ignorance and poverty.

As someone who has long taken this vision for granted, it came as a considerable shock to me to discover that the conventional wisdom is quite unfounded. In The Myth of the Andalusian Paradise, Fernandez-Morera systematically refutes the beguiling fable. The picture he draws is starkly different from the conventional one, troubling in what it reveals and compelling in its arguments.

If we are to satisfactorily resolve current disputes about Islamophobia and the future of Islam as a world religion, this book is required reading. International reviewers have greeted it as a desperately needed corrective to delusion and propaganda. That will invite pushback from those who either remain committed to the myth or believe it is too important a beacon to allow it to be extinguished.

However, Fernandez-Morera argues trenchantly that we must shake off the sense of the superiority of Islam to medieval European culture. He makes the point, for example, that, given Islam’s antipathy to graphic art and music, had Europe been Islamised in the 8th century, we would never have had Gregorian chant, orchestral music or opera. No Bach, Mozart, Beethoven or Verdi. No Caravaggio, Michelangelo or Titian. Ponder that, at least as a thought experiment.

He shows that the Muslim invaders of Spain in the 8th century did not arrive as a higher civilisation conquering Visigothic barbarians. They arrived as barbarians intruding on a strongly Romanised, Catholic and materially sophisticated culture. As other scholarship has shown, the Arabs in the 7th and 8th centuries were barbarian invaders every bit as much as the Germans or Bulgars in Europe. They plundered, enslaved and sacked from the Middle East across North Africa and eastwards to Central Asia and India. As the great Muslim historian Ibn Khaldun would put it in the 14th century, war in the name of religion was integral to Islam.

Micah Xavier Johnson didn’t need to get these notions directly from Louis Farrakhan. The general sentiment has been screeched in a deafening chorus both before and even immediately after last Thursday’s bloodbath in Dallas. But unlike Obama and the media that put him in power, Calypso Louie dispenses with dog whistles and lays it right out:

“When you are willing and not afraid anymore to pay the price for freedom — don’t let this white man tell you that violence is wrong,” Farrakhan said. “Every damn thing that he got, he got it by being violent — killing people, raping and robbing and murdering. He’s doing it as we speak, and then he has the nerve to come and tell us that violence and hatred won’t get it. Don’t buy that!”

Speaking about white people as one entity, Farrakhan proclaimed, “He is worthy to be hated.” He also claimed that “God hates,” and man is no better than God.

The shocking video was posted on Twitter at around 5 p.m. on Thursday.
