CAIRO, Feb 13 (Reuters) – Groups of Egyptian Muslims set fire to Christian-owned shops in southern Egypt after hearing rumours of a love affair between a Muslim woman and a Coptic Christian man, security sources and a witness said on Tuesday.
Eight Muslim men were arrested in the town of Armant, around 600 km (375 miles) south of Cairo, on suspicion of taking part in arson attacks on four stores and a mini-van owned by Coptic Christians, the security sources said.
The rumours began on Saturday and calm was restored by Tuesday, with security forces deployed in the town as a precaution, one security official said.
Traditional Islamic law allows Muslim men to marry Christian women but not Christian men to marry Muslim women. Romances across the divide are one of the main sources of tension between Egypt’s two main religious communities.
Hala Botros, a Christian blogger from the region, said Copts in Armant were still scared to leave their homes.
“The situation has improved slightly but people go out only if they really have to,” Botros, who regularly reports attacks on Christians on her blog under the name Hala el-Masry, told Reuters by telephone.
Coptic Christians make up to 10 percent of the about 75 million Egyptians, most of whom are Sunni Muslims.
Relations between the two communities are usually peaceful but there are sporadic outbreaks of violence. In 1999, 22 people were killed in communal strife in southern Egypt.
In April, a 45-year old Muslim man stabbed a Coptic Christian in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria, sparking three days of sectarian clashes. Egypt ruled in June the man was mentally ill after a medical evaluation without a trial.

Hebrew University Professor Raphael Israeli, author of the superb Islamikaze, has had his six-week Australian lecture tour canceled by the Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council (AIJAC) — because of his remarks about Muslim immigration. Dr. Israeli has kindly sent in from Australia some observations on the incident:

I became a celebrity two days after I arrived, and that subsumed all the rest of my activities. When the storm erupted, the dhimmi-like Jewish leadership cancelled all activities, in a shameful submisssion to the Muslim thugs and under the false claims of a “multi-cultural society” in Australia, which they know is not true.
The story is two-sided: I gave an interview and said many harsh words about Islam in Europe, which the reporter extrapolated as applying to Australia too. The other issue is the political correctness which does not allow those things to be said, though privately everyone supports what I said.

In any case, my teaching on Islam stands and it even increased interest in my lectures, but the public lecture tour was cancelled and the Jewish leadership shamefully disowned me instead of standing up for me. I blamed the violence of Muslims in the world (and by implication here) for the troubles they are having, but they chose to accuse the messenger. They apologized to the thugs and brought upon themselves the disgrace of unconditional submission.

They do not want to rock the boat. They are scared to stir things up. The easiest way for them was to sacrifice the guest they invited, thus punishing not me, but the Jewish audiences who need the education for which I was brought here.

I was also struck by the provinciality of the place, where a minor item of gossip about one individual who said something becomes a national issue. I am not the Minister of Immigration. Before me the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Costello have said harsher things after Muslim riots, but someone elected to seize upon this opportunity now and sweep Australia into a storm in a tea-cup.

Cancelled or not, the good professor got the ball rolling. Now the debate will begin in earnest. Nobody was expecting the Israel & Jewish Affairs Council to lead the charge against the Muhammedan hordes.

Sure, their shooting the messenger and their surrender looks shameful and is in no way contributing to -what should be- their instincts of self-preservation. But then again: The Jews were never good at self-preservation, were they?

Racist Jewish Professor Sparks Uproar in Australia

A self described academic on Islam and Jewish professor, Raphael Israeli, has been condemned for explicit racism and sparking trouble in Australia after calling for a limit on Islamic migration to Australia, because Muslims were violent.

This particular idea never made it into the parade in 2006. This year, though, organizers in Düsseldorf say there will be no limits.

The word on the coffin means “Freedom of opinion.” Murdered with a sabre, freedom of opinion is buried in 2006.

In 2005, when the diplomatic conflict between the United States and Iran was heating up, was the year of the “Mullah burger.”
This sketch, on the other hand, was never realized. It shows Iranian Mullahs hiding a nuclear warhead.

This motif will feature in the parade on Rose Monday. The banner reads “Peace Between Religions — The Greatest of All Illusions.”

Muslim leaders are calling for the Australian flag to be flown outside mosques as an expression of the Islamic community’s “loyalty” to Australia.

The Weekend Australian newspaper reports that a number of senior Muslim clerics have urged the country’s 300,000 Muslims to get behind the idea as a symbol of “integration” and pride.

“Even in Muslim countries in the mosque they fly the national flag … (such as) in Pakistan,” the former chairman of the Prime Minister’s Muslim reference group, Ameer Ali, told the newspaper.

“If that can be done in a Muslim country why not in Australia?

“We are Australian Muslims, and it (the flag) is a symbol of our national identity.”

But Muslim leader Keysar Trad said some community members would consider the idea of displaying the flag as “politicising a place of worship”.

“I have no problem with the flag being at Muslim schools, but a place of worship is for all people to be equal and as such I believe places of worship should maintain the tradition of not raising the national flag,” Mr Trad told The Weekend Australian.

Prominent Sydney-based Islamic cleric Khalil Shami also expressed fears that raising the flag outside mosques would lead to potential violence and further division with the community among factions opposed to the idea.

They won’t, of course not. The Koran is ‘immutable’ and the religion of Islam is ‘perfect.’

‘Perfect’- just like the murderous, plundering rapist and child molester Mohammed, who is the actual object of Mohammedan worship.

‘Allah’- (from the pagan moon-god ‘Al-ilha’) was Mohammeds invention and excuse for a life long jihad, a ‘struggle’ that resulted in annihilation, enslavement and the forced conversion of all tribes in 7th century Arabia.

But by making such calls Geert Wilders, Faction leader of the Freedom Party in Holland, has put his life in mortal danger and needs 24 hour protection, including frequent change of quarters. The Dutch politician, who is said to be gay, is very courageous in light of the horrible murder on Theo Van Gogh. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali immigrant/politician, recently left Holland for the US. Hirsi Ali was deeply disappointed about the lack of support from Dutch politicians and the idiocy of the female movement there, which bickers over trivia rather than things that matter, like their future and the future of their kids.

AMSTERDAM – If Muslims want to stay in the Netherlands, they should tear out half the Koran and throw it away. And they shouldn’t listen to the imam. Faction leader of the Freedom Party (PVV) Geert Wilders said this in an interview with daily newspaper De Pers on Tuesday.

He said the holy book of Islam contains “plenty of terrible things.” Wilders said once again that Islam is a violent religion. “If Mohammed lived here today, I would propose he be tarred and feathered as an extremist and driven out of the country,” he said.

The politician wants to impress on people that Islam is “the greatest danger threatening us.” He says that other political parties avoid topics like this. “Everything we are proud of, we are selling to the devil. Former head of the Mossad Efraim Halevy says that World War III has begun. I would not use those words, but it’s true,” said Wilders, who in the past has voiced his fear of a “tsunami of Islamisation in the Netherlands.”

Wilders: “Take a walk down the street and see where this is going. You no longer feel like you are living in your own country. There is a battle going on and we have to defend ourselves. Before you know it there will be more mosques than churches!”

* You’re right, Wilders. You don’t want your country to look like this. But first you have to get the Dutch off the cheese and behind you!
