If you look in the right places you can connect the dots. The accusation, widely reported by the gullible MSM, that Thaksin Shinawatra ‘was corrupt’ is clearly a canard. (In Thailand, accusing someone in government of being corrupt is no different from accusing somebody of breathing) Thaksin was a very popular prime minister and he did have overwhelming support in Thailand. That’s why the Muslim generals waited to oust him and staged their coup when he was traveling overseas.

Take a closer look: Here’s what the ‘usual suspects’ are saying, and it all falls into place:

“It is the right thing that the military has taken power to replace the Thaksin Shinawatra government,” said Lukman Lima, an exiled leader in one of several groups fighting the central government for a separate Muslim state.

Lukman Lima of course, the ‘exiled Muslim rebel leader’, will not settle for less than ‘full independence:’

“We hope that the political [situation] can be resolved under General Sondhi Boonyaratkalin as the new leader,” Lukman said.

In an e-mailed response to questions, Lukman said that Sondhi was the “only one who knows the real problems” of the Muslim-dominated southern provinces.

Lukman, living in exile in Sweden, is vice president of the Pattani United Liberation Organization (PULO).

“We will continue to fight until full independence [is attained] in Pattani,” he said, referring to the provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat.

In the most recent coup the Thai- PM Thaksin Shinawatra was ousted by a Muslim general, Sonthi Boonyaratglin. The interior minister Aree Wongaraya is also a Muslim and a close associate. It would be interesting to know how many more Muslims have come to power through this coup. The New-years bombings in Bangkok are used as a pretext to uphold martial law. Who benefits from this? Are we failing to connect the dots?
