Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian cleric Salem Abu Al-Futuh, which aired on Al-Nas TV on August 18, 2010:

Salem Abu Al-Futuh: The nation of Islam will return – despite our current crisis and despite the arrogance of the West. The West is bound to be destroyed. Just like Allah destroyed the Byzantine and Persian empires, He will destroy the West at the hands of the Muslims. This is an unequivocal promise. These countries will convert to Islam. Islam will reach these countries.

Let us examine the divine sequence: First, the Caliphate will return. Then, the Muslims will live in tremendous prosperity. The economy of the Muslims will be the strongest of all. You are probably thinking that I’m not well today if I say such things. By God, there’s nothing wrong with me. I am speaking words of truth.

Great conquests will ensue. We will conquer Italy.

[…]

By Allah, we will conquer Italy. By Allah, we will conquer Italy and move into [the rest] of Europe. Islam will enter that entire region. Even America, you ask? Yes, even America. North or south America? Both North and South America. We will enter all these countries, and people there will be joining Islam in droves.

What is it with Muslims, Bombs & Mosques?

Police in India have arrested Islamic cleric Abdul Nasser Madani in connection with blasts that hit the city of Bangalore in mid-2008.

Abdul Nasser Madani was arrested at his home in the state of Kerala.

He accuses the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Karnataka, whose capital is Bangalore, of “framing” him.

One woman was killed and several others injured in July 2008 when seven bombs hit crowded areas of the city, which is India’s information technology hub.   ( BBC)

More on this recent incident, along with the Islamic Defenders Front’s persecution of Ahmadi Muslims in the days leading up to Ramadan.

Despite the title of the article, which implies a more reciprocal level of activity, the “pushing back” occurring here is but a demonstration held on Sunday, and the ongoing, determined defiance of religious minorities whose only “provocation” is to go on living their lives according to their constitutional rights.

It is not so much pushing back as standing one’s rightful ground. The racist Uganda bombers responsible for killing 79 people at a World Cup Soccer party cried as they appeared in court this week.
The New Vision reported:

FOUR key suspects who confessed to involvement in the bomb blasts were paraded before journalists yesterday.

Two of them, Edris Nsubuga and Haruna Hassan Luyima, cried over the pain their actions caused. Issa Luyima and Haruna Hassan Luyima are brothers, while Nsubuga is their friend. The fourth suspect was identified as Mohamood Mugisha.

“I am very sorry for the loss of life. I was hesitant to pick on Ugandans.My target was the Americans, who I think are responsible for the suffering in the world. Yet another government reveals its Islamophobia by banning the burqa:

The Syrian minister of higher education has prohibited the entrance of veiled female students into universities and colleges throughout the country, news agencies reported Sunday.

Last January, an Egyptian court upheld a ban of the veil during university exams. And last year Al Azhar University’s religious head banned the veil at all Al Azhar schools altogether.

There is no compulsion in religion…

Apologists for Islam like to quote Qur’an 2:256, which states that there is “no compulsion in religion.” There are, however, myriad forms of coercion, from the jizya tax mandated by Qur’an 9:29 to oppressive dhimma laws, and of course, outright warfare and all of its provisions for plunder, captivity, slavery, and rape (sex with captives and slaves, per Qur’an 4:24).

Israel to strip Arabs of citzenship

No, unfortunately Israel is not about to throw the Arabs out (not yet, anyway). Its our ‘friend & peace-partner’ Egypt, that seeks to strip Egyptian men married to Israeli women of their citizenship.

(Beats me why an Israeli woman would marry a Muslim, its certainly not the other way around: no Israeli Jew marries Muslim women; Islam forbids it. But Jewish women are highly regarded and seen as priced possessions. For the most part, however, we must suspect that these are Arab-Muslim women who marry Egyptions…./ed)

CAIRO (AFP) – A Cairo court on Saturday upheld a ruling to strip Egyptian men married to Israeli women of their citizenship in a case that has highlighted national sentiment towards Israel.

A Belgian visiting one of Egypt’s major tourist attractions was attacked by an Egyptian man who had been dismissed from the country’s most prestigious institute  (Al Azhar) for Islamic learning, the government said on Wednesday.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement that the Egyptian attacked the Belgian man on Tuesday evening in the southern city of Aswan, the site of ancient ruins, with a sharp object. knife.

Egypt: Three-thousand Mad Muslims Attack Coptic Christians

Faithful were gathered in prayer when attack occurred. There were four priests, one deacon and 400 parishioners in the building, women and children also targeted. Fundamentalists fury, egged on by the imam, unleashed by the rumour that the Christians are building a new church. In reality it is a hospice.

Cairo (AsiaNews / Agencies) – The toll from an attack on the Coptic Christian community that took place yesterday in the north-western province of Mersa Matrouh, Egypt is 25 wounded, including women and children. A crowd of around 3 thousand Muslims attacked the faithful gathered in prayer in a building adjoining the local church. Muhammad Badie, a 66-year-old professor of veterinary medicine is the new head of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. Indeed, barring any serious ill health he will probably run the Islamist group for the next ten to twenty years, foreclosing the possibility of any real moderation from that group.

Yet since Badie doesn’t want to make any changes in the Brotherhood, he is likely not to make it any more revolutionary either. Clearly, the Brotherhood fears confrontation with the Egyptian government because it knows who would lose. Already, about 1000 members have gone to jail each year and technically the Brotherhood is an illegal organization. If President Husni Mubarak is going to make his own son Egypt’s next president, the Brotherhood will have to shut up and take it.
