When will Pankraj Mishra stop blaming the victim and take a closer look at murderous Muslim mobs who terrorize the whole world?

The disingenuous conflation of religious or cultural criticism with racial bigotry counts as one of the very worst moral deteriorations of the previous half-century.

When will those brave critics of Islam decry this mob hate?

Pankaj Mishra argues that Islamophobes among the intelligentsia, including “professional former Muslims” like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, have helped create the conditions for the current wave of “mass anti-Muslim hysteria” in the US.

Most of these ex-Muslim “dissidents” lucratively raging against Islam in the west wouldn’t be able to flourish without the imprimatur of influential institutions and individuals in the US and Europe. Hirsi Ali, who wishes to be the Voltaire of Islam, commands rapturous endorsements from not only rightwing crazies like Pamela Geller and Glenn Beck but also Tina Brown.

Blame the victim as per usual.

Soldier of Islam

Haq, like virtually all other jihadists, played the victim, blaming inadequate mental health care. He was singing a different tune when he called his family after the shootings – back then he called himself a “soldier of Islam.”

He blamed mental illness instead of Islam?  Islam is the mental illness that afflicted this c*nt. His condition is called  Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

The only known treatment is called apostacy (leaving Islam).

Naveed Haq was sentenced to life in prison this morning for barging into the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle 3 ½ years ago, killing one woman and wounding five others amid an anti-Israel tirade.Addressing the court for the first time, Haq blamed the shootings on mental illness and lack of treatment.

“I understand you are angry,” said Haq, 34. “The tragedy wouldn’t have occurred if it wasn’t for bad medical care and mental illness.”

Haq apologized for the attack “from the depth of my being.”

“I am not a man filled with hate,” said the Tri-Cities man. “That Naveed Haq at the Federation that July day was not the real Naveed Haq.”…

They hate. They hate even their own children…

A bill that was recently introduced in the United States House of Representatives could force the US to stop funding UNRWA – the agency that has perpetuated four generations of ‘Palestinian refugees’ rather than resettle them elsewhere as is done with refugees elsewhere in the world.

Fitzgerald: Ignoramus Ian Buruma accuses Geert Wilders of "hatred and ignorance"

* Perhaps we should mention that Buruma is a writer of worthless fiction. He would be well advised to stick to that genre… His interview in the NYT published February 4, 2007 with Tariq Ramadan shows that he is clueless  about Islam and the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood. But what do you expect from the New Duranty Times?

The vicious abuse of the word “hatred” to shut down debate:

                      

Ian Buruma, who has been given to some remarkable pronouncements on Islam, published on Friday a remarkable article in The New York Times on Geert Wilders. The article, “Totally Tolerant, Up To A Point,” was intended essentially to blacken the name of Geert Wilders, to present him – for likening the Qur’an to Mein Kampf – as, by contamination, a Nazi himself, and to present the attempt to censor him, by Dutch authorities as, therefore, a perfectly understandable, even laudable thing.

Here’s how Buruma does it. He starts with the word “hatred”:

“If it were not for his hatred of Islam, Geert Wilders would have remained a provincial Dutch parliamentarian of little note.”

Geert Wilders, you see, is not only a “hater” – the theme comes up again and again, without a single example being offered of a single bit of the Qur’an or Hadith that Geert Wilders might be said to “hate” – but he’s also a self-promoter, riding right into a life of fame, riches, and so on, on the back of his “hatred of Islam.”

* Yusuf -remember Yusuf rubs it?- is Buruma’s greatest fan: he must have missed the Friday khutba to cut and paste all this here…
