The Koran does not promise the Land of Israel to the Jews

Straight from the pages of the European Council for Fatwa and Research is this hum-dinger of a fatwa, that will ensure that the fight for “Muslim land” will continue until the end of time as we know it. That includes all of Jerusalem, all of Israel and the annihilation of the Jooozzzz…

* Just in case you had any illusions about this: a scholarly article by Robert Spencer and Andrew Bostom, Jihad Watch:

Over the years many, many people have sent in articles stating that the Qur’an actually promises the Land of Israel to the Jews, and that therefore the claims of Hamas and Hizballah et al are illegitimate on Islamic grounds. It is a comforting message that Islamic spokesmen such as Khaleel Mohammed have taken to Jewish audiences all over, reinforcing in them the idea that the Islamic jihad imperative against Israel is simply the province of a Tiny Minority of Extremistsâ„¢ among Muslims, and that the voices of reason and moderation — and Qur’anic authenticity — will eventually prevail in the Islamic world.

The only problem with this is that it isn’t true, and is based on a partial and highly misleading reading of the Qur’an. It sounds great, it makes people feel better, but what good is that if it is based on falsehood? And what could be the goal of Muslim spokesmen who promote this perspective even though they know full well the totality of the Qur’an’s teaching on the Jews?

Here is the latest example of this wishful thinking and false hope: “What the Koran says about the land of Israel,” by Simon Rocker in The Jewish Chronicle, March 19

Arabs offer Israel last chance to commit suicide

The Arab League summit in Doha, Qatar has given Israel one more chance to commit suicide. It has told Israel that it’s now or never for the 2002 Saudi initiative.

Arab States to Issue Israel an Ultimatum

by Nissan Ratzlav-Katz/ Israel National News
(IsraelNN.com) The Arab League is formulating an ultimatum to be issued Monday warning Israel that it must accept the League’s terms for an Arab-Israel agreement. If Israel refuses, the Arab League statement indicates, the offer will be off the table. Meanwhile, the Arab League is hosting a leader charged with racist massacres of non-Arabs in his own country.

urban II draft drops criticism of Israel, "defamation of religion" clause

Pressure works, in an update on this story. There will still be an expression of concern about “negative stereotyping of religions,” but of course, there has been no word on how Qur’an 98:6, which calls unbelievers the “vilest of creatures,” factors into this. Or Qur’an 9:30, which claims that Jews call Ezra the son of God. Or 2:62-65, 5:59-60, and 7:166, which call unbelievers apes and pigs. So the double standard is clearly still alive and well.

EU warns Netanyahu on hawkish government

What a stoopid man: EU’s Solana: ‘Hamas doesn’t want to destroy Israel’ by David Horovitz for the Jerusalem Post:

Chatting with jihadists: EU chief held secret Hamas talks

No doubt to see what terms Hamas demanded for the completion of the EU’s cultural and societal surrender. From the BBC, full article below

The European Union urged Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu on Sunday to craft a government that embraces the long-standing goal of an independent Palestinian state living side by side with Israel.

The prospect of a new hawkish government, with Israel Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman as a possible foreign minister, will be seen in Europe as a setback to the Middle East peace process.

“Let me say very clearly that the way the European Union will relate to an [Israeli] government that is not committed to a two-state solution will be very, very different,” said Javier Solana, the EU’s foreign and security affairs chief.

*  Is anti-Zionism hate?

Judea Pearl:

Yes. It is more dangerous than anti-Semitism, threatening lives and peace in the Middle East.
Anti-Zionism rejects the very notion that Jews are a nation — a collective bonded by a common history — and, accordingly, denies Jews the right to self-determination in their historical birthplace. It seeks the dismantling of the Jewish nation-state: Israel.  More from WaPo

Egyptian Cleric Muhammad Hussein Ya’qoub: The Jews Are the Enemies of Muslims Regardless of the Occupation of Palestine

MEMRI

Following are excerpts from a speech delivered by Egyptian cleric Muhammad Hussein Ya’qoub, which aired on Al-Rahma TV on January 17, 2009.

Muhammad Hussein Ya’qoub: If the Jews left Palestine to us, would we start loving them? Of course not. We will never love them. Absolutely not. The Jews are infidels – not because I say so, and not because they are killing Muslims, but because Allah said: “The Jews say that Uzair is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that Christ is the son of Allah. These are the words from their mouths. They imitate the sayings of the disbelievers before. May Allah fight them. How deluded they are.” It is Allah who said that they are infidels.

Sweden's anti-Israel apartheid policy is about more than sport

Israel wins in another war

* Anti-Israel protesters clash with police

Andrew Bolt

Israel beats Sweden in a Davis Cup tie that Muslim immigrants and the far-Left tried to disrupt – sometimes physically. But Israeli player Andy Ram is bitter, and describes what it is to be an Israeli player in modern, anti-Semitic Sweden:

Never in my career as an athlete have I encountered such hatred and such blend of sports and politics. Up until the last moment, the protestors attempted to prompt the cancelation of the David Cup match between Israel and Sweden. After we already landed here, their leader met with Swedish team captain Mats Wilander and asked him to call off the contest.

The Swedish players actually understand us and are quite embarrassed by what is happening, yet these events have completely changed my perception of Sweden, and it is doubtful whether I’ll want to come back here ever again.

The feelings within the Israel team are very grim. All the innocence that prompted us to play tennis has disappeared, and this match, which was supposed to be a beautiful moment of sports, has become completely worthless. Nothing here is reminiscent of the Davis Cup; what we have is a war atmosphere, tension, and the feeling that something very bad may happen at any moment.

Sweden’s anti-Israel apartheid policy is about more than sport

Neutral Sweden’s mixed World War II legacy is still debated by historians. On the one hand it supplied Nazi Germany with iron ore and ball bearings and allowed the Wehrmacht to use the Swedish railway system to transport soldiers. On the other hand, spurred on by the Danes, it accepted Danish Jews marked for mass murder by the Nazis. Ultimately, the good name of Sweden was redeemed by the unparalleled heroics of one of its own – Raoul Wallenberg, who, using the cover of a Swedish diplomat, helped save tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews destined for Auschwitz, only to disappear into the Soviet Gulag. For decades, no Swedish government had the courage to demand his return from the jaws of the neighboring Russian bear.

While this Swede will forever be revered by the Jewish nation, it is brutally clear in 2009 that Jews and especially those uppity ones from Israel are of little concern to Swedish authorities, as their policies become more reminiscent of apartheid South Africa or Berlin in the 1930s than a 21st-century Scandinavian democracy.

Dozens of anti-Israel activists clashed with police Saturday as they tried to storm a closed arena where Sweden and Israel were playing a Davis Cup tennis match. The activists hurled rocks and firecrackers at police vans as they tried to break through the barricades set up to keep protesters from the arena. Hundreds of riot police pushed them back using truncheons.

More Bulldozer Jihad in Jerusalem

From Carl in J’lem

Update:

Israel Radio reports that the police car was flipped over twice – clearly not an accident as the ‘Palestinians’ may ultimately report. The bulldozer also hit an empty bus.

* Family of dead jihadist: “he was only interested in his religion…”

You would think after last summer no one would allow an Arab behind the wheel of a tractor or bulldozer in a city in Israel. You’d be wrong. This afternoon, yet another ‘Palestinian’ terrorist purposely drove a bulldozer into other vehicles on a Jerusalem road. This time it happened near the Malcha Mall, where the Menachem Begin highway ends, at Golomb Boulevard. It’s an intersection my two young sons pass each morning on their way to school. Thankfully, this time a taxi driver shot and wounded the terrorist immediately, and only two police officers – whose car was flipped over by the bulldozer – were lightly wounded.

Two police officers were wounded in Jerusalem shortly after 1:00 p.m. when an Arab-driven tractor plowed into their vehicle. The officers, though hurt, fired at the terrorist, as did a civilian, and the terrorist was mortally wounded.

* Update:

Family of Jerusalem tractor jihadist: he was “a normal person who did not hold extremist views”

He plowed into a police car and was apparently also trying to hit a bus. But it was an accident, you see, and he was a “moderate.”

And there was an open Qur’an in the glove compartment.

Of course, every time a Muslim commits a jihad attack, we hear from his family and friends about how he was just a regular guy, a gentle soul, wouldn’t hurt a fly, and they’re shocked, shocked, by this incident. Just once it would be refreshing to hear the uncle or cousin of a jihadist admit it all and say something like, “Yes, he did this because he totally hated Jews and Christians and wanted to kill them, as per the Qur’an’s instructions to wage war against unbelievers.”  (that admission usually follows a few days later, when that dreaded ‘backlash’ doesn’t happen and the Muslims feel safe from infidel reprisals…/ed)

Israel: The IDF does a good job. Its the political failure that undermines Israel's deterrence capabilities…

From a blog for all

Israel Goes After Islamic Jihad In Gaza

A day after Islamic Jihad fired rockets into Israel, Israel struck back, launching an airstrike against Islamic Jihad leaders and against the smuggling tunnels.

Palestinian sources reported on Wednesday evening that two Palestinians were killed and at least four others were wounded in an IDF strike in northern Gaza.

The honey trap: Ofir Rachum was murdered by satisfied Arabs from Fatah

The IDF confirmed the attack was a joint operation with the Shin Bet to target senior Islamic Jihad operative Khaled Khareb Khaled Sha’alan – who the army said was involved in the firing of rockets towards Israel, including the attacks against Ashkelon in recent days.

According to the Palestinians, Israeli aircraft fired at least one missile towards a vehicle near a mosque in the town of Beit Lahiya. The two killed apparently belonged to the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the IDF got its man. Israel has shown itself to have excellent intel on those involved in the rocket war against Israel, but political considerations have limited Israel’s ability to strike at those terrorists responsible.

It is the political failure that undermines Israel’s deterrence capabilities.

Islamo-Christians Whine and Tell Pope Not To Visit Israel

Pali- Christians urge Pope to call off May visit to Israel

Dhimmi Watch: Palestinian Christian: “We are all afraid”

Dhimmi Watch: Christians under cover

The Beleaguered Christians of the Palestinian-Controlled Areas, by David Raab

Its not that they don’t want the Pope to come, its simply that his might incite the Muslims to retaliate against the remaining dhimmies in the Muslim occupied territories. So what can the Christians do other than to blame the Joooozzz? In the meantime, their Muslim brothers are decimating the few remaining Christians some more…

A group of Palestinian Christians has asked Pope Benedict XVI to call off his planned visit to Israel and the West Bank this coming May.

The 40 community activists wrote to the pope that his visit would “help boost Israel’s image and inadvertently minimize Palestinian suffering under Israeli occupation.”

The group urged the pope to link his visit to a series of Israeli measures, including improved access to Christian places of worship and halting taxation of church properties.

Christians from the West Bank, like their Muslim counterparts, need special permits to reach Jerusalem and its holy places.

The pontiff is to visit the Holy Land May 8-15, including stops in Jordan, the West Bank and Israel.
