‘’Has Australia forged foreign passports before? I believe it has occured…”

Apparently Opposition foreign affairs spokesman Julie Bishop has made a terrible gaffe by telling the truth and exposing the hypocrisy behind the Rudd Government’s huffing over Israel:

In an interview with The Age online, Ms Bishop said it would be naive to think ‘’Israel is the only country … that has used forged passports, including Australian passports, for security operations’’. When asked, ‘’What? We do?’’ she said ‘’yes’’.

Later she said: ‘’Has Australia forged foreign passports before? You’ll have to ask the Foreign Minister.’’ Pressed on what she thought, she said: ‘’I believe that it has occurred.’’

But in a statement later, she denied having told The Age online that Australian intelligence agencies had forged the passports of other nations.

‘’My responses were referring to the fact that forged Australian passports have been used previously … I have no knowledge of any Australian authority forging any passports of any nation.’’

Bishop’s real gaffe is to retreat under fire from what she correctly said. A Paul Keating would have gone in even harder.

No, not everyone in Labor would agree with Kevin Rudd’s wild decision yesterday to make an example of Israel, once thought of as our friend, by expelling one of its diplomats.

AWU boss Paul Howes actually wrote this two months ago. I doubt he (privately) thinks any differently today – and his piece even then warned of the anti-Israeli agitation that Rudd has now unleashed:  against the anti-Israel Labor of KRudd

When he’s not expelling Israeli diplomats to appease Muslim countries, he’s offering aid bribes to African ones who may likewise back Kevin Rudd’s desperate campaign for a temporary seat on the UN Security Council:

AUSTRALIA will pump more than $400 million in foreign aid into Africa by 2015, as Prime Minister Kevin Rudd chases a seat on the United Nations Security Council.

Aid funding for Africa will more than double – from $163 million this year – despite Australia having few historical ties with the continent.The rise in spending will see hundreds of millions spent on helping Africa develop better farming practices while thousands of “development awards” will be offered.

But the money will also help promote Australian Rules football…

Nor is that the only cost of Rudd’s vanity:

TAXPAYERS paid a massive $700,000 for Governor-General Quentin Bryce’s trek to Africa to help win Australia a seat on the UN Security Council.

Immigrants who jeer at British troops in the street to be barred from gaining citizenship

Good news, but don’t hold your breath: we’ve heard such announcement before, never to be followed up or implemented. The wimps in government won’t do it and the judiciary supports the Muzz. It won’t happen:

Immigrants who jeer at British troops in the street or ‘show disregard for UK values’ will be barred from gaining citizenship.

Migrants wanting a UK passport will also have to pass a history test for the first time – an idea ministers had previously spent four years resisting.

Immigration Minister Phil Woolas says that demonstrating against servicemen – as took place recently in disgraceful scenes in Luton – ‘enrages’ law abiding Britons, and should be a block on a foreigner obtaining citizenship

It is included in tough new rules unveiled today to reduce the all-time record number of citizenship applications being approved by the Home Office.

Mr Woolas said the new points-based citizenship rules would also stop the population from reaching 70million, and bring ‘control’ to the migration system.

British passports to be given to a record 220,000 "migrants" this year

The number of British passports given to migrants is set to hit a record 220,000 this year.

In the first three months of 2009, 54,615 citizenship applications were approved – up 57 per cent on the same period in 2008.

At that rate, the number receiving passports – and with them the right to full benefits – this year will smash the record of 164,540 set in 2007.

Last year the total was 129,310, and when Labour came to power in 1997, just 37,010 people were given citizenship.

* Muslims will win fast-track passports if they stand on picket lines or knock on doors asking people to vote Labour, it emerged last night.

It means approvals have rocketed by almost 500 per cent under the current Government.
