Philippines: MILF's Demand Hudna, 'or else..'

The truce doesn’t seem to have been broken when the MILF drove 1,000 Christian farmers from their land. Some truce. “Philippine Muslim rebels warn 5-year-old truce may collapse unless talks resume,” from The Associated Press, June 6 via JW

MANILA, Philippines: Muslim rebels warned Friday that their five-year-old truce with the Philippine government may collapse unless the two sides resume stalled peace talks.

* This AP journo seems to use a template, because they all regurgitate the same crock:

The talks broke off last year after the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, which has been fighting for self-rule for minority Muslims for decades, protested the government’s insistence that any proposal granting the rebels autonomy must adhere to Philippine laws and go before voters as a referendum.

Who’s Who: Institutionalising the Muslim Brotherhood

Islamic ‘Lipstick on a pig’ wankfest in Londonistan:

* From Harry’s Place

If you’d like to know who all the major Muslim Brotherhood and MB-sympathetic players in politics today are, you couldn’t do much worse than have a look at the programme of a two day conference, to be held next month on London.

The conference has been organised by the Muslim Brotherhood front organisation, the British Muslim Initiative. Unsurprisingly, it has been put together with the help of the Conflicts Forum, which sees its mission as mainstreaming and institutionalising the Muslim Brotherhood. Depressingly, it has also been co-sponsored by Demos, the soft-and-fluffy ex-Eurocommunist outfit.

* The usual suspects:

* Snake oil salesmen Ramadan, Esposito, Voll, Tamimi & others…

I can tell you what the message of this conference will be. It will be that the Muslim Brotherhood is a diverse organisation, that you shouldn’t take its anti-democratic and demogogic rhetoric at face value, that it is moving towards reform, that is represents the best alternative to Al Qaeda, that it is an idea whose time has come, that it represents a genuine expression of the political soul of the Muslim Ummah, that it is a people’s resistance movement, and – above all – partnering with it should be at the heart of sensible Governmental policy, both abroad, and at home.

* Yusuf Al Qaradawi goes into damage control mode, condemning the bombing of embassies looks good to infidels and takes the heat off for a while…

This conference is likely to be attended by policy makers, academics and activists, who will be encouraged to put this message into practice.

US walking away from UN rights forum

* Infiltration Jihad:

* US out of the UN-‘Human Rights’ circus?  High time. Long overdue. This pathetic, corrupt and totally perverted ‘world body’ needs to get the shoe. A taste of what ‘human rights’ are turned into when Arab Muslims use bribes and blackmail to call the shots

The United States has quietly informed Western allies of its intention to walk away from the UN Human Rights Council, diplomatic sources said on Friday.

Diplomatic sources and rights activists said that US officials had informed the European Union on Friday morning of its intention to halt its involvement in the Council. “They said they were going to disengage totally,” said one representative of a rights watchdog group. (Reuters)

Turkish Court Cancels Headscarf Legislation in Blow to Erdogan

* Cooking the Islamic hijab-soup: Erdogan & Gul

* Kudos to an upstanding prosecutor who smells the coffee. But what seems to be a brave act in defying the Islamic allures of Erdogan & Gul may not last long. Sheik yer’mami crystal ball  sees political assassinations and violent uprisings ahead:

June 5 (Bloomberg) — Turkey’s Constitutional Court canceled legislation designed to ease curbs on the Islamic-style headscarf, dealing a blow to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as he seeks to avoid a political ban.

* Erdogan, Gul Want Ban on Head Scarf Lifted

The court said that the constitutional amendments break Turkey’s secular rules, according to a written statement handed to reporters in the capital Ankara today.

The ruling may increase the chance that the Constitutional Court bars Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party from politics for mixing Islam with the affairs of state. That trial has raised concern about political instability in mostly Muslim Turkey, bringing losses for stocks and the lira.

“The case for the Justice party’s closure certainly becomes stronger now,” said Wolfango Piccoli, an analyst at Eurasia Group in London, in a telephone interview. “It doesn’t look good at all for the party.”

The move by Justice to ease the curbs on the headscarf at the nation’s universities forms the center-piece of a prosecutor’s case at the Constitutional Court to ban the party, and bar 71 of its leading members from politics for five years.

Turkish writer wonders if Prince Charles has converted to Islam

* The self described ‘defender of the faith’s’ is becoming highly suspect:

Or is he just an indefatigable and useful dhimmi?

“Prince Charles, defender of Islam,” by Fazile Zahir in Asia Times, June 4 (thanks to DW):

[…] One particular member of the royal family, the queen’s eldest son, Prince Charles, has come under suspicion of having his own particularly strong connection to Turkey.
In October 1996, London’s Evening Standard newspaper quoted the Grand Mufti of Cyprus, who claimed that the prince had converted to Islam. “It happened in Turkey. Oh, yes, he converted all right,” the Grand Mufti was quoted as saying. “When you get home, check on how often he travels to Turkey. You’ll find that your future king is a Muslim.” This was one of several reports linking Prince Charles and Islam highlighted by authors Ronni L Gordon and David M Stillman in The Middle East Quarterly in 1997.

There have been various alleged proofs offered for the conversion myth. Numerous times over the past three decades, Charles has spoken to support both Muslims and Islam. In 1989, when the Iranian ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwa against author Salman Rushdie, Charles reacted to the death decree by reflecting on the positive features that Islam has to offer the spiritually empty lives of his countrymen.

Ladies and gentlemen,I am very honoured indeed to have been invited by the Danish Free Press Society to speak in the Danish Parliament, the heart of Danish democracy. My special thanks go to Lars Hedegaard and Katrine Winkel Holm, who were so kind to invite me here.

* Muslim gang attacks gay catwalk model

As you may know, the title of my short film about the Koran and Islam is Fitna . Fitna is an Arabic word with many meanings. The most common translation is ‘ordeal’ or ‘trial’. The name Fitna symbolises my view that Islam is the ordeal with which the free West is currently confronted. Are we prepared to defend our achievements, such as the equality of men and women, of heterosexuals and homosexuals as well as the separation of Church and State? I would like to throw some light today on the question of whether the Netherlands and Europe will be able to face that ordeal and stand the test. I will also address the question of why I made Fitna , and relate to you some of the reactions to my film as well as some of my personal circumstances. Lastly, I will offer you some thoughts on the future of freedom and democracy in Europe.

Let me first explain to you why I made Fitna.

It is an indisputable fact that the Netherlands and Europe are in the process of being Islamised. For those who still doubt whether this is actually so, let me give you a few figures. In 1909, a century ago now, there were fifty-four Muslims living in the Netherlands , in 1960 there were thirteen hundred and ninety-nine, in 1990 four hundred and fifty eight thousand, and currently about one million. In France approximately ten percent of the population are Muslims. A total of fifty-four million Muslims live in Europe . In less than half a century the number of Muslims has increased considerably in practically all of Europe . Within a few decades the street scenes in Europe , particularly in the densely populated parts, have drastically changed. In countries such as the Netherlands , Germany and Denmark headscarves and burkas have now become integrated and are part of our daily experience.

US: Obamarama in overdrive

Update: Obama’s brilliant career as Defender of Israel lasts about one day. Jerusalem goes under the bus…

He backs away from his undivided Jerusalem comment. “Obama clarifies united J’lem comment,” by Hillary Leila Krieger for the Jerusalem Post, June 6

Fitzgerald: What Obama has to do now

The promise by Obama in his AIPAC speech to “personally” take part in a renewal of Israeli-“Palestinian” negotiations is worrisome. Very. It should fill everyone with anxiety. For everything about Obama until now — the people he has allowed to tell him all about “Palestine” (Rashid Khalidi), the people who were his early financial backers (Anton Rezko, who in turn is backed by an Iraqi billionaire), his early political backers (Rev. Wright, possibly Louis Farrakhan), his choice of foreign-policy advisers (Zbigniew Brezezinski, and Samantha Powers), his endorsement by Jimmy Carter, all point in one direction.

And his endorsement of one undivided capital is “just words,” until we see exactly what he means by this. And he should be asked. Does he mean Jerusalem as the Israelis now define it, and include the Old City? And what else does he mean?

John Bolton ain’t buyin’ any:

Obama the naive

His views on world affairs ignore history and imperil the U.S. and our allies

Barack Obama’s willingness to meet with the leaders of rogue states such as Iran and North Korea “without preconditions” is a naive and dangerous approach to dealing with the hard men who run pariah states. It will be an important and legitimate issue for policy debate during the remainder of the presidential campaign.

Consider his facile observations about President Kennedy’s first meeting with Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev, in Vienna in 1961. Obama saw it as a meeting that helped win the Cold War, when in fact it was an embarrassment for the American side. The inexperienced Kennedy performed so poorly that Khrushchev may well have been encouraged to position Soviet missiles in Cuba in 1962, thus precipitating one of the Cold War’s most dangerous crises.

Arabs ‘shocked’ by Obama speech

Barack Obama said he spoke as a
“true friend” of Israel [EPA]

* With ‘friends’ like this…..

* Remember: “War is deceit” said Muhammad. The Bommah will promise anything and everything to get in.

* From Al Jizz
Arab leaders have reacted with anger and disbelief to an intensely pro-Israeli speech delivered by Barack Obama, the US Democratic presumptive presidential nominee.

Obama told the influential annual policy conference of the American Israel Public Affairs Council (Aipac): “Jerusalem will remain the capital of Israel and it must remain undivided.”
His comments appalled Palestinians who see occupied East Jerusalem as part of a future Palestinian state.

Saeb Erekat, the chief Palestinian negotiator, told Al Jazeera on Thursday: “This is the worst thing to happen to us since 1967 … he has given ammunition to extremists across the region”.
“What really disppoints me is that someone like Barack Obama, who runs a campaign on the theme of change – when it comes to Aipac and what’s needed to be said differently about the Palestinian state, he fails.”

And here the latest endorsement for the Bommah:  British communist and terrorist sympathizer George ‘georgeous’ Gallowwayswine:

Following is an interview with British MP George Galloway, which aired on Al-Aqsa TV on May 2, 2008:

George Galloway: I hope that the new presidency in the United States… I pray for the safety of Barack Obama, and I pray that he can shift the United States attitude to this question. But as you know, Palestine cannot free itself. It is a small country against a huge superpower. The real problem is not in Palestine. It’s not even in London or Washington. The real problem is in the Arab world. From Marrakesh to Bahrain – 300 million Arabs, oil at 136 dollars per barrel… If the Arabs wanted to solve this Palestine problem, they could do so in six days.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed also sang verses from the Koran, rejected his attorneys and told Judge Ralph Kohlmann, a Marine colonel, that he wants to represent himself at the war crimes trial. The judge warned that he faces execution if convicted of organizing the attacks on America. But the former No. 3 leader of Al Qaeda was insistent.

“Yes, this is what I wish, to be a martyr for a long time,” Mohammed declared. “I will, God willing, have this, by you.”

One of Mohammed’s co-defendants, Ramzi Binalshibh, told the court his fate is in the hands of God.

“I am guilty,” Binalshibh said. “I have been seeking martyrdom for five years.”

Mohammed and four alleged co-conspirators each face death if convicted of war crimes including murder, conspiracy, attacking civilians and terrorism by hijacking planes to attack U.S. landmarks. The murder charges involve the deaths of 2,973 people at the World Trade Center, Pentagon and a field in Pennsylvania where passengers forced down their plane.

Majority of Dutch want a Stop on Mosque Building

Netherlands: 65% support ban on large mosques

According to a large survey prepared by TV program Netwerk and newspaper Nederlands Dagbald, 65% of the Dutch ‘agree’ or ‘completely agree’ that there should be a stop to the building of large mosques.

Bureau Intomart GfK questioned 1386 people, regarding their opinion about Islam in the Netherlands.

Most Dutch are concerned about the growth of Islam in the Netherlands and its influence on society.  At the same time, a majority are also concerned about the negative manner in which Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom (PVV) speak about Islam.

* Ya think? Here’s more…

In Belgium people are  waking up to the treacherous ways of misguided left-wing lunatics who are in cahoots with the Islamic infil-traitors:

* There has been an outcry in Belgium over a proposal to convert little-used churches into mosques. A senior official in Antwerp argues too many of the city’s churches stand empty most of the time and he has put forward suggestions to convert them into mosques to benefit the city’s large Muslim population.
Philip Heylen, who is deputy-mayor, says he wants to “break the taboo” over the future of the city’s churches, many of which have dwindling and ageing congregations. He shrugs:
“It’s a looming issue yet it seems impossible to have a debate about this, churches were built as places of worship and they should not be used as shopping malls. We’ve approached various religious groups and had a positive response from members of the Muslim community, which is open to the idea of converting them.”

"Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Koran even once. You can't rewrite the Koran on air on Al Jazeera"

Anti-dhimmitude on…Al-Jizz. “Israeli on Arab TV: J’lem Was Ours When Moslems Worshipped Idols,” by Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu for Israel National News, June 5 Via DW

(IsraelNN.com) Bar Ilan University political scientist Dr. Mordechai Kedar told a Moslem show host on the Arabic-language Al Jazeera television network, “Jews were in Jerusalem while your ancestors were drinking wine and blowing to idols.” In a heated debate with the narrator, he added, “We don’t need your permission to build” in the capital of Israel, Jerusalem.
The encounter occurred earlier this week, when Jews around the world celebrated Jerusalem Unification Day. Dr. Kedar has frequently appeared on the widely viewed Qatar-based network but this time encountered a sharp attack from the show’s host, Jimal Rian.

* Anti-Christian ‘Cleansing’ Campaign Picks Up Pace in Gaza

“Building in Jerusalem is another nail in the coffin in negotiations with the Palestinian Authority,” narrator Jimal Rian asserted. Dr. Kedar answered in fluent Arabic, “This was our capital 3,000 years ago, and we were here when your forefathers were drinking wine, burying girls alive and worshipping pre-Muslim idols. This is our city and it will be our city forever.”

His reference to Muslims drinking wine, which is forbidden in Islam, infuriated the host. Rian wagged his finger in the air and said excitedly, “If you want to talk about history, you cannot erase Jerusalem from the Koran, and don’t attack the Muslim religion if we want to continue talking.”

Dr. Kedar replied, “Jerusalem is not mentioned even once in the Koran. Jerusalem is a Jewish city.”

The Al Jazeera host responded by quoting a verse from the Koran in which he thought Jerusalem was mentioned by name, but stopped in the middle upon realizing that it only refers to “the farthest place.”

That would be Qur’an 17:1. “The farthest place” (al-aqsa) is identified in Islamic tradition with Jerusalem, but there is no mention of Jerusalem by name in that verse or in any other Qur’anic verse.

Dr. Kedar: “Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Koran even once. You can’t rewrite the Koran on air on Al Jazeera.”

He’s right. It isn’t.

Rian changed the subject to “settlements” and asked Dr. Kedar why Israel is building 1,000 new apartments and deciding to build thousands more while there are rumors that “Jerusalem will include all of the West Bank [Judea and Samaria]. The Bar Ilan researcher replied. “My friend, Israel is not counting the number of apartments that Qatar is building on the Qatar Peninsula so why are you doing so in Jerusalem? Jerusalem is our city forever and is not an issue for you, for Al Jazeera or for anyone else. Period. Jerusalem belongs only to Jews.
Replying to Rian’s question if Dr. Behar’s assessment is the basis for talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA), he declared, “My friend, I invite you to Jerusalem so you can see with your own eyes that it has become a flourishing city after it was in ruins under Arab rule until 1967. We rebuilt the city and opened it to Christians, Moslems and Jews equally, unlike under Muslim rule” that prohibited other religions….

Indeed.

Anti dhimmitude from the OTTAWACITIZEN:

By David Warren

Published: Wednesday, June 04, 2008

The writings of Canada’s most talented journalist, Mark Steyn, went on trial in Vancouver on Monday, in a case designed to challenge freedom of the press. It is a show trial, under the arbitrary powers given to Canada’s obscene “human rights” commissions, by Section 13 of our Human Rights Act.

* Update: Shut up, dhimmi: Maclean’s counsel not allowed to question conduct of Islamic congress

I wrote “obscene” advisedly. A respondent who comes before Canada’s “human rights” tribunals has none of the defences formerly guaranteed in common law. The truth is no defence, reasonable intention is no defence, nor material harmlessness, there are no rules of evidence, no precedents, nor case law of any kind. The commissars running the tribunals need have no legal training, exhibit none, and owe their appointments to networking among leftwing activists.

I wrote “show trial” advisedly, for there has been a 100 per cent conviction rate in cases brought to “human rights” tribunals under Section 13.
