First the results of our last poll:

* Should Polygamy Be Permitted?

* 45% of our voters voted “Absolutely Not”

* 9% of voters voted for “yes why not”- one would suspect that the increasing numbers of Muhammedan posters on this blog had something to do with it…

* 7% insist that the law should be upheld, and that doesn’t mean shariah…

* 39 % of all voters would like to see all polygamous Muslims deported.

* All in all a satisfactory result. It shows that Australians have no tolerance for Muhammad worshippers who rort the system in order to outbreed us. Unfortunately only 39% of our voters would like to see the polygamous sons of Allah deported.

So the overwhelming majority is not agreed on deportation, not yet. But it looks like our numbers are growing, in fact faster growing than the ‘fastest growing religion’…

In the Pakistani city of Multan, religious groups protest against the Danish newspapers’ republication of Prophet Muhammad’s cartoons. The demonstration, organized by Jamaat Ahle Sunnat Pakistan, was held on Monday, the day a car bomb targeted the Danish embassy in Islamabad.

MUSLIMS in the south-west have renewed their push to have a mosque based in Warrnambool to cater for their expanding community.
There are fears that unless a permanent place of worship can be established, moves to bring more migrant workers to the region will suffer.

``More workers will want to come here if there is a mosque,” Muslim community leader Mohamed Khanyari told The Standard yesterday.

He said in the past year more than 30 workers he had encouraged to Warrnambool for work had returned to Melbourne because there was no Islamic worship centre.

He will rally support from the district Muslim community on Saturday during a social barbecue from 1pm at Lake Pertobe and hopes to form a committee.

Mr Khanyari estimates there are up to 30 Muslim families in the district.

``We need a permanent base for worship. Now we have to travel to the mosque at Geelong,” he said.

“There are Muslims who would come from as far as Portland and Hamilton.

“Even international tourists who visit Warrnambool inquire about a mosque.”

Manila, 2 June (AKI) – A Catholic bishop on the southern Philippine island of Mindanao is backing Islamic rebels in their bid to establish an Islamic state.

Bishop Edwin Dela Pena of Marawi City, a town in the heart of the region dominated by the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, said the government should take account of how an Islamic way of life may be lived by Muslims.

“It is about time that we give our brother and sister Muslims their aspirations for Mindanao,” he said in a statement posted in the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines’ website on Monday.

Dela Pena added that an Islamic state within the Philippines would allow Muslims to move freely in an Islamic environment without creating problems for Christians.

“Christians are still covered by the civil law of the land while the Muslims are covered by Sharia law. More so, the Islamic state will also allow the creation of Islamic institutions inspired by the Koran,” Dela Pena said.

Christians are the majority in Mindanao, an island in the southern part of the Filipino archipelago once fully inhabited by Islam ethno-linguistic groups, collectively called Moros.

Christians moved to Mindanao and given land titles in a government-sponsored migration programme started by colonial power Spain and later the US.

The same program has also been carried out by most of the Christian-dominated Philippine governments that have held power since formal independence in 1946.

The MILF is the largest rebel group now advocating for a Bangsamoro – a Moro nation. The group is currently engaged in fragile peace talks with the central government.

The decades-long conflict is believed to have claimed more than 120,000 lives.

Norway: Muhammed cartoon

The debate rages in Norway about whether this is or isn’t a Muhammad cartoon.

Adresseavisen, a Norwegian newspaper, printed its very own ‘Muhammad cartoon’. Of course, most newspapers who reported about it, did not dare print it themselves, and at most sufficed with a picture of the paper. NRK brought a facsimile version.

Arne Blix, chief editor, realizes that cartoon is controversial, but thinks it’s necessary. This is Adresseavisen’s response to the attack against the Danish embassy. Blix doesn’t expect negative reactions from the Muslim world, and he doesn’t think it’s a cartoon of Muhammed and that it doesn’t attack Muhammed or Islam. He says it shows a terrorist who commits violence in the prophet’s name.

Adresseavisen’s cartoonist, Jan O. Henriksen, says that this is not a picture of Muhmmad. Henriksen says this cartoon is completely different from the Jyllands-Posten cartoons, since he didn’t draw it in order to be provocative. He didn’t agree with his colleagues who supported the Danish Muhammad cartoonists. He says that here he’s talking about people who hide behind religion in order to support terrorism. It’s provocative that people think that if somebody waves the Islam card than people will give in on any criticism of what is a real terrorist act.

Lawyer Abid Q. Raja thinks this is a cartoon of Muhammed and that the newspaper is hiding by saying this is a cartoon of a terrorist. If it would be a terrorist, he says, it would say “I am Muhammad, nobody dares stop me when I blow up suicidebombers.”

Police were looking for witnesses to a seafront rape tonight.

A 19-year-old girl reported the attack happened in Kings Road, Brighton, at 11.40pm yesterday.

She said an unknown man walked towards her between Buddies restaurant and the Old Ship Hotel, grabbed her around the waist, pulled her into a nearby doorway and raped her.

He is described as Asian-looking, under 30 years old, with very short black hair. He was wearing a white hooded top and a diamante earring.

They are not linking it to an allegation of attempted rape near the Old Ship Hotel on March 9.

But really it is these western governments who are oppressive and force people to accept there way of life in in an Islamic state the shariah [muslim law] does not force people of other faiths to accept there religion or way of life they can practice there own personal laws aslong as they just pay a simple tax [the Jizya] there life, property and religion, places of worship are protected and would not be forced to accept the islamic way of life just as they do here in the west the governments force people of other faiths there values, but unfortuantly there is no Islamic state in the world today non of the Muslims countries implement shariah.

Two Christian preachers were stopped from handing out Bible extracts by police because they were in a Muslim area, it was claimed yesterday.

They say they were told by a Muslim police community support officer that they could not preach there and that attempting to convert Muslims to Christianity was a hate crime.

The community officer is also said to have told the two men: ‘You have been warned. If you come back here and get beat up, well, you have been warned.’

It comes amid growing concern over the development of Islamic ‘no-go areas’.

The preachers, Americans Arthur Cunningham and Joseph Abraham, are demanding an apology and compensation from West Midlands Police.

MUSLIM girls should not be allowed to wear a headscarf in public schools, the two main opposition parties said last night.

Labour’s Ruairi Quinn said immigrants who come to Ireland need to conform to the culture of this country.

“If people want to come into a western society that is Christian and secular, they need to conform to the rules and regulations of that country,” the Labour spokesman on education and science told the Irish Independent.

His comments come amid mounting controversy over guidelines on the wearing of the hijab, commonly worn by Muslim girl in state schools.

His stance on the issue was backed by his Fine Gael counterpart Brian Hayes, who says it makes “absolute sense” that there is one uniform for everyone.

At least six people have been killed and 30 injured in a car bomb attack near the Danish embassy in the Pakistani capital Islamabad.
An embassy worker was among the dead and three were hurt but no Danish citizens were killed or injured.
Danish PM Anders Fogh Rasmussen called the act “cowardly” and said it would not change Danish policies.
It was not clear who carried out the attack, as Pakistan’s main militant group recently declared a ceasefire.

One response has come from Danish-born Muslims. A poll by Politiken, a daily, of 315 young Muslim students, found that two-thirds of them were considering emigrating after graduation. Most gave as their reason “the tone of the Danish debate about Muslims”.
