News Service roundup, I reported that Mark Steyn was to testify against the anti-civil rights Human Rights Commission today. I am just back, and am transcribing what he said, in sections, below. Update: Here’s a leaked transcript of the whole day (all the witnesses).

Commentator Mark “one-man global content provider” Steyn is testifying today on the Ontario “human rights” commission (= trampling civil liberties in the name of social engineering) at the province of Ontario’s legislature (Queen’s Park), Room 155. Ontario’s commission dropped its charges against Steyn for his famous Maclean’s article, an excerpt from his book, America Alone, but issued a media release implying that he really was guilty – which gives you some idea how much it resembles a real court. As Kathy “I’m with the banned” Shaidle says, “Can’t find room 151? Just follow the buzzing sound: Steyn tends to be surrounded by a flock of ardent admirers.”

Wilders to Brit's: "Cowards…"

* Sniffling cowards they are, indeed. The British Socialists have surely lost the plot… but what can you expect from a nation of giggling shop-keepers?

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – A Dutch member of parliament facing prosecution because of his anti-Islam remarks said on Tuesday that Britain had refused him entry to the country as a threat to public security.

Geert Wilders had wanted to show a short film, “Fitna,” which accuses the Koran of inciting violence, in the British parliament, but said the British authorities had told him he was excluded from the country.

* Actually, its not Fitna ‘accusing the Koran of inciting violence’- it is the verses in the Koran and the Islamic preachers that incite violence, and Fitna shows just that. More muddle-headed reporting…

“The secretary of state (minister) is satisfied that your statements about Muslims and their beliefs, as expressed in your film “Fitna” and elsewhere, would threaten community harmony and therefore public security in the United Kingdom,” Wilders told Dutch television a letter he had received from the British government said.

Islamic Jihad preparing for ‘next round’ regardless of elections outcome

Amnesia’s Flying Pig Moment

Amnesty International must have felt the heat of public opinion after their ludicrous statement that they ignore Hamas war crimes because they’re so obvious; today they issued a report that, oddly enough, accuses Hamas of eliminating opponents.

We  suspect a half-assed attempt to preempt criticism:  Amnesty International has consistently been one of the most radical anti-Israel NGOs, they don’t deserve any kudo’s.  But there does seem to be a trend lately among these groups to notice reality.

Hamas wants a truce

“If Muslims are weak, a truce may be made for ten years if necessary, for the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) made a truce with the Quraysh for that long, as is related by Abu Dawud” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.16).

Note that this can only be done if “Muslims are weak,” so that they can gather strength to fight again — not so that they can live peacefully with non-Muslims indefinitely. The same legal manual also quotes this verse of the Qur’an: “So do not be fainthearted and call for peace, when it is you who are the uppermost” (47:35). So Hamas would not be calling for a truce at all if it felt it was in a position of strength. “Interests that justify making a truce are such things as Muslim weakness because of lack of numbers or materiel, or the hope of an enemy becoming Muslim . . .” (‘Umdat al-Salik, o9.16).

The bottom line: Hamas is feeling the heat and wants a truce in order to regroup and emerge in a stronger position.

Dutch Right-wing politician and controversial anti-Islam campaigner Geert Wilders has been refused entry to the United Kingdom despite being invited to visit by a member of the House of Lords, the British parliament’s upper chamber.

                              

Update: The matter was decided in Great Britain by the -execrable-  British minister of justice Jack Straw, because it concerns internal security. For this reason minister Ernst Hirsch Balin (CDA) of justice will get in touch with Straw.

* Who could forget the sniffling, groveling Jack-(ass) Straw who owes his seat to the Muslim vote! A maggot in human form!

                            

Note to Brits: It’s not Wilders you should be keeping out of England, it’s the Muslims that want to take over your country!

Geert Wilders.jpgMr Wilders (pictured), who was due to go to London this Thursday, received a letter today, 10 February, from the British ambassador to the Netherlands telling him that he was not welcome, reportedly because his visit would constitute a threat to public order.

Mr Wilders responded to the decision in fighting mood, telling Dutch media that he still intended to travel to London:“I’ll see what happens at the border. Let them put me in handcuffs.”

Dutch Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen’s response was also firm. He contacted his UK counterpart, David Miliband, by telephone and voiced his dissatisfaction that a member of the Dutch parliament – Geert Wilders is in fact also the leader of a political grouping, the Freedom Party – has been prohibited from entering a fellow European Union member state.

Geert Wilders, perhaps best known outside the Netherlands for having made the video Fitna, in which the religion Islam and its holy book the Qu’ran are attacked as providing a basis for terrorist attacks and for the undermining of western democracy and values, had been invited to London for a showing of this film to members of the British parliament.

Giving a somewhat modern technological twist to this diplomatic tiff, Foreign Minister Maxime Verhagen used the internet social networking and communications site Twitter to announce that he had phoned his counterpart David Miliband to complain about the British decision to refuse entry to Geert Wilders. 

The invitation to do so was extended to the controversial Dutch politician by a member of the unelected House of Lords. 

Regrettable
Mr Verhagen commented regarding the showing of Fitna in the British parliament that this was a matter for the House of Lords to decide on, but added: “the fact that a Dutch parliamentarian is refused entry to another EU country is highly regrettable.”

Geert Wilders was initially to have shown his video to the British parliament in January, but those plans were cancelled following fierce protests from the UK’s Muslim community.

* Once again: smears of “right wing” and skewed reporting: it was the excremental, abominable token Muslim with the title of “Lord” Ahmed who threatened parliament that he would activate 10.000 Muslim protesters, not “fierce protests from the Muslim community”…..

Hadith Qudsi 19:5: “The Prophet said that Allah commanded him to destroy all the musical instruments, idols, crosses and all the trappings of ignorance.”

The Hadith Qudsi, or holy Hadith, are those in which Muhammad transmits the words of Allah, although those words are not in the Qur’an.

Venezuela arrests 11, including 7 cops, over synagogue attack

* Surprised? We are. After all, didn’t Chavez initiate this whole thing by spewing bile against the Jews? And what is this now if not a half-assed attempt at damage control?

              

Venezuelan investigators on Sunday said seven police agents and four civilians were arrested in connection with an attack on a synagogue that sparked international condemnation.

The Venezuelan public prosecutor’s office said the civilians included at least one security official from the synagogue and that all had been captured in raids over the weekend.
