Rome: Italian politicans rally for Israel: meraviglioso!

Good for them. When is the American politicians’ pro-Israel rally? What’s that? No such rally is scheduled? Why not?

Dear friends, We didn’t expect what you see now in the picture. This is the square of the Italian Parliament in Rome, Piazza Montecitorio: you can see the Palace on top of the square, and in front a lot of Israeli flags.That was Wednesday night, January 14, from 6,30 to 9,30 pm. What you cannot see here, is the extraordinary number and variety of members of the Parliament, about 100 from all political sides, that took the stage during our marathon: for about three hours we have been speaking about the role of Israel, its right to self defense, its moral height, its fight in name of all of us, of our civilization and values, against the wild hate of the Islamic jihad represented by Hamas. It seems to me that for the first time in the too long history of the arab Israeli conflict, apart from a minority of crazy leftists and fascists that took the street on anti-Semitic slogans, we have obtained a huge consensus about one critical point: this is not an episode of a local conflict, there is nothing in it that reminds the land for peace theme that has characterized the Palestinian issue. This is an episode of the attack against the western world, and Iran has a lot to do with it.

The reason for Gilbert’s refusal to “give one dime to Doctors Without Borders” is because the DWB refuses to be a part of a conflict, which runs counter to Gilbert’s ideological views. Like the TT has mentioned before, ‘Mad’ Mads Gilbert is a Leftist loon, who is very much a part of the Hamas war effort as the Palestinian stringers who feed reports to the international wire services.

The media however has been lapping it up, because they either believe or pretend to believe that they have an objective, unbiased Western professional (a doctor no less) rendering an accurate picture of the situation in Gaza.

The media however is not blameless, nor totally fooled. An anonymous source informed teh Tundra Tabloids that Finland’s main news station, YLE, has privately admitted that it had been badly misled, leading them into an untenable position, of having disseminated factually challenged information to the Finnish public, and needing to correct their reports. At the time of the information being handed to the TT, the “gate keepers” at YLE were busily scurrying to find a way to make things right without badly exposing themselves to justifiable criticism.KGS

Amid international condemnation of Israel, one would never guess that humanitarian aid and even cash is flowing into Hamas coffers, while its rockets continue to hit Israel.

It is important to alleviate the suffering of innocent Palestinians. However, since Gaza is under Hamas control, we have to ask: Will aid reach the suffering populace? If the past is any indication, most funds and supplies will end up with Hamas.

The world community that berates Israel for defending itself from constant attacks by the terrorist group also facilitated Hamas’ victory in the 2006 Palestinian Authority election, when it was allowed to run under the name “List of Change and Reform.“

Since then, despite repeated promises to cut off funds for Hamas, international aid organizations and many countries kept on sending money to Gaza, purportedly for humanitarian aid. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency, the U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees, raises money for Gaza through its Web site, with payments going through WorldPay (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group), the Arab Bank PLC in Gaza and HSBC in Amman, Jordan. Those funds come in addition to UNRWA’s annual budget of $400 million.
