This is what happened, this Tuesday, when the Royal Anglian Regiment were awarded the Freedom of the Borough in Barking and Dagenham.

The first set of demonstrators call themselves Muslims Against Crusades. Have a look at them. They are Al Muhajiroun, of course.

Inevitably, the EDL turns up. There is a scuffle. It is hugely upsetting. Nobody is seriously injured – but that is a result of some rather heavy policing.

The thing is, this event should not have occurred. Al Muhajiroun announced their intention to hold a rally. They posted videos of themselves – known Al Muhajiroun members – calling for it. The police could, and indeed should, have arrested them under the Terrorism Act 2000.

Muslim immigrants are making Germany ‘dumber’, according to a board member of the country’s central bank.  Thilo Sarrazin claimed the ‘limited education’ of immigrants – coupled with their high birth rate – meant Germans ‘are becoming dumber in a simple way’.

He said: ‘There’s a difference in the reproduction of population groups with varying intelligence…

“I don’t have to accept someone who lives off a state they reject, doesn’t properly take care of the education of his children-and keeps producing more little girls in headscarves,’ Mr Sarrazin said.

‘That goes for 70 percent of the Turkish and 90 percent of the Arabic population of Berlin.’ He added that they were not fit for much other than ‘fruit and vegetable selling’.

Fifteen-year-old pupils from schools with high ethnic diversity perform worse than comparable pupils from schools with homogenous student populations. This applies not just to the immigrant children, but also to the pupils from the country in question. For the latter group, the negative effect is strongest in school systems with a hierarchy of school types, such as the Dutch and German systems. What’s more, the number and origin of the immigrant pupils also plays an important role. Having a higher proportion of pupils from Islamic countries at a given school negatively influences the performance of all pupils at that school. But in contrast, a higher share of pupils from South and East Asia has a positive effect. The home secretary can stop people entering the UK if she believes there is a threat to national security, public order or the safety of citizens.  Theresa May said that visiting the UK was “a privilege, not a right”. That includes banning people if she believes their views glorify terrorism, promote violence or encourage other serious crime. Zakir Naik does all of these things. BBC

Mumbai-based Islamic scholar Zakir Naik Saturday said he plans to challenge the ban order on him by the British Home Office in British courts.

‘The decision is politically motivated by the new government. My lawyers have already examined it in detail and we have a very strong case,’ Naik, a 44-year old medico-turned preacher, told IANS Saturday afternoon.

(Reuters) – A senior Iranian cleric has decreed dogs are “unclean” and should not be kept as pets — a move aimed at discouraging Western-style dog ownership in the Islamic state, a newspaper reported on Saturday

Dogs are considered “unclean” under Islamic tradition but, while relatively rare in Iran, some people do keep them as pets.

By issuing a fatwa — a religious ruling — Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi has sent a clear message that this trend must stop.

“Friendship with dogs is a blind imitation of the West,” he was quoted as saying in Javan daily. “There are lots of people in the West who love their dogs more than their wives and children.”

In what can only be described as Orwellian double-speak, the Organization of the Islamic Conference told the United Nations Human Rights Council — made up of many of the world’s worst human rights violators — that Muslims in western democracies face unbearable racism and discrimination, and demanded that the UN do something about it.

“People of Arab origin face new forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related forms of intolerance and experience discrimination and marginalization,” an Egyptian delegate said on Wednesday.

Pakistan, speaking for the 57-nation OIC, tabled a resolution instructing the council’s special investigator into religious freedom to look into such racism, “especially in western societies” to “work closely with mass media organizations to ensure that they create and promote an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for religious and cultural diversity.”

Mahfooz Kanwar, a professor emeritus at Mount Royal University and author, said these resolutions — which are expected to pass owing to the over-abundance of “Islamist and other dictatorial states” that sit on the oxymoronically named UN Human Rights Council — would be funny for their sheer audacity and hypocrisy if they were not so potentially harmful and disturbing.

“I was born and raised in Pakistan and any honest person from there will admit that nobody in that country has religious freedom — or any kind of freedom — not Muslims and certainly not members of minority religions who are afforded even less rights and are often beaten, raped and killed for not being Muslim,” said Kanwar, a sociologist and criminologist. “As for gender equality, there is none. Women are considered property in Pakistan and virtually every Islamic country,” he added.

Twenty-three asylum seekers are set to be transferred from Christmas Island to Darwin this afternoon.

The six Afghans and 12 Sri Lankans are in family groups and will be put up in hotels or public housing – not in detention.

Why is this guy in Australia?
