Dozens of people gathered in Washington’s DuPont Circle Friday morning for the “Annual Al-Quds Day Rally for Justice in Palestine and the Oppressed Everywhere.”

The Quds Day rally in Washington has become a gathering of the fringe of the fringe of rabidly anti-Israel demonstrators. Speakers included Medea Benjamin of Code Pink and two people who have espoused radical conspiracy theories at the Islamic Society of North America’s (ISNA) annual conferences.

As Palestinian and Israeli leaders meet in peace negotiations just a few miles away, the speakers called for a rejectionist line on Israel.

“The time has come that we must stir up our ‘religious leaders’ in this country to speak the truth about Israel,” said Kaukab Siddiqi. “They must put their hands on the Quran and say that they do not recognize Israel as a legitimate entity. If they cannot do that, they must be branded as kaffirs [infidels]. It’s as simple as that. Because the Quran says – drive them out from where they drove you out.”

INDONESIA: Female genital mutilation persists despite ban

Muslims invariably lie and deny that clit-cutting has anything to do with Islam.  While it is correct  that FGM was practiced in some parts of Africa before the 7th century, the same cannot be said for Indonesia, which was largely Hindu and Buddhist until 500 years ago. Even 30 years ago the practice was as foreign as the hideous  Middle Eastern shrouds, which are now seen as ‘obligatory’ and falsely called ‘traditional dress’.

As you can see from this article, FGM is practiced only for one reason:  In March this year, the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the country’s largest Muslim organization, issued an edict supporting FGM/C, though a leading cleric told the NU’s estimated 40 million followers “not to cut too much”.

JAKARTA, 2 September 2010 (IRIN) – Though the Indonesian government banned female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) four years ago, experts say religious support for the practice is more fervent than ever, particularly in rural communities.

A lack of regulation since the ban makes it difficult to monitor, but medical practitioners say FGM/C remains commonplace for women of all ages in this emerging democracy (?) of 240 million – the world’s largest Muslim nation.

Although not authorized by the Koran, the practice is growing in popularity.

With increased urging of religious leaders, baby girls are now losing the top or part of their clitoris in the name of faith, sometimes in unsanitary rooms with tools as crude as scissors.

‘Nothing to do with Islam’- right?  Wrong:

“We fear if [FGM/C] gets more outspoken support from religious leaders it will increase even more. We found in our latest research that not only female babies are being mutilated, but also older women ask for it,” said Artha Budi Susila Duarsa, a university researcher at Yarsi University in Jakarta.

While the procedure in Indonesia is not as severe as in parts of Africa and involves cutting less flesh, it still poses a serious health concern.

“Even a small wound on the genitals can lead to sexual, physiological and physical problems,” Duarsa said.

Indonesia forbade health officials from the practice in 2006 because they considered it a “useless” practice that “could potentially harm women’s health”.

However, the ban was quickly opposed by the Indonesian Ulema Council, the highest Islamic advisory body in Indonesia.

Religious leaders gathered in Houston Saturday to condemn a Florida church’s campaign to burn hundreds of Qurans later this week.

Hindu, Buddhist, Jewish, Christian, Sikh, Zoroastrian and Muslim clergy spoke to about 120 people at an interfaith symposium held at the Baitus Samee Mosque in northwest Houston. They discussed the sanctity of scriptures and denounced the ill-treatment of religious books.

“Even if it is a human document merely inspired by encounters of the divine, or generations of my people’s wisdom passed down and kept sacred, it is still sacred,” Rabbi Jonathan Siger told the audience.

“Notorious past”

The symposium was held in response to the Dove World Outreach Center’s announcement of a “Burn a Quran Day” on Sept. 11 at their church property in Gainesville, Fla. The non-denominational church gained notoriety in 2009 for its “Islam is of the Devil” signs posted on the church’s lawn.

“Islam is a very oppressive religion, and the Quran is definitely a dangerous book,” said Terry Jones, pastor of the Dove World Outreach Center. “We want to send a clear message to radical Muslims, that in the U.S., we are not interested in shariah law and shariah courts. We have a Constitution, and we hope to uphold it.”

Though the church was denied a burning permit by Gainesville authorities, members still plans to burn “a couple hundred Qurans” on the evening of Sept. 11 to commemorate those killed in the World Trade Center attacks.

“the stigmatising, unequal treatment and discrimination of minorities in general and Muslims in particular,”

Straight out of the Koran. Institutionalized discrimination,  the depredations of dhimmitude  and the systematic, deliberate impoverishment of unbelievers are non-negotiable in the Islamic system.

But no: the Muselmaniacs are fearful, as usual:

“We fear the poison of intolerance that can spread surreptitiously to become acceptable opinion,” they added.

Hmm, that might not be a bad thing for those of us who have woken up to what Islam has in store for us. Especially in light of this:

The Sydney-born Islamic cleric who called for the beheading of a Dutch anti-Muslim MP has been back in Australia for several months and preaching at an Islamic centre in Campbelltown in Sydney’s south-west.

(Note the slant: “anti-Muslim MP”.   Geert Wilders has always gone to great pains to explain that the problem is not with Muslims who are willing to assimilate, but with Islam,  a genocidal doctrine to replace our culture and civilization)

“Sheikh” Feiz Mohammad labelled Jews “pigs” and exhorted children to jihad.  “We want to have children and offer them as soldiers defending Islam,” he says. “Teach them this: there is nothing more beloved to me than wanting to die as a mujahid. In a speech on his website, Sheikh Feiz Mohammad described Geert Wilders, leader of the Dutch Party for Freedom, as ‘‘this Satan, this devil, this  (dirty, filthy) politician in Holland” and said his head should be chopped off for denigrating Islam. Sheikh Feiz Mohammad gained notoriety for a speech in Bankstown in 2005 when he said a rape victim had no one to blame but herself for wearing ”satanic skirts”.

An Islamic news website, MuslimVillage.com, reported yesterday the cleric gave the Friday Prayer sermon at the Campbelltown centre last week.

Mr Wilders has called Islamic culture ”retarded and violent”.

Anti-islam Dutch MP heading for Australia

The branding of Islamic culture as ‘retarded’ by far-right Dutch politician Geert Wilders’ – on SBS’s Dateline programme – has prompted a big reaction in the Dutch press.

Wilders’ Freedom Party won 24 seats in the 2010 election earlier in the year, on the basis of an anti-Islamic campaign.

And now he looks set to visit Australia, after telling SBS Dateline that Western culture is ‘better than the retarded Islamic culture.’

The caliph in Sunni Islam is the symbol of the supranational unity of the Muslims, and is the successor of Muhammad as the military, political, and spiritual leader of the Islamic community. The caliphate was abolished in 1924 by the secular Turkish government; foremost on the agenda of Islamic supremacists worldwide is its restoration. Hamstringing that effort, however, has been the lack of a candidate who would be acceptable to everyone concerned. Now Pakistan’s Minister of State for Industries, Ayatullah Durrani, has a novel idea for just the right man for the job: Barack Obama!

Heck, why not? Taft went on from the presidency to become Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Nixon became a pundit. Carter became a saint. Why can’t Obama become caliph?

Seriously, note the bit about offering Eid prayers at Ground Zero. Why at Ground Zero? To mark the victory of Islam there — as the planned mosque will do.

A doctor based in the south German city of Waechtersbach has banned his female Muslim patients from wearing the hijab in his office, the daily Gelnhaeuser Neuen Zeitung reported on Friday

Ahlul Bayt News Agency, Doctor Rainer Peters justified his discriminatory policy by alleging he had always what he called difficulties with Muslims.  He also initiated a series of other rules in his office deemed insulting and discriminatory to Muslims migrants, according to the report.

Germany has been gripped by a major wave of Islamophobia following the release of a controversial book by German central banker Thilo Sarrazin who claimed Muslim migrants posed a threat to German society.

The closure of a mosque because of exceeding capacity regulations opens up a conflict in Lleida.

Lleida City Council ordered the precautionary closure of the mosque in the Nord Street, which attracts a large number of faithful, for violating the regulations on local authorized capacity. Local police found that inside there were 1,200 people, five times more than allowed by the license, which is 240 people.
