Not just communism and Islam, but fascism, too

Turkish-born Necla Kelek is a German sociologist and author of Journey to Heaven: My Fight with the Guardians of Islam. She explains the problem:

I see a parallel between socialism or communism and Islam. Both are collectivist ideologies. The individual has no rights of his own. The individual is part of a larger whole and is obliged to do everything to make the community flourish. The system supports the group, not the individual.

In the case of Islam, the relevant group is the Umma, and the group decides in very dictatorial ways — the need to do so proves that individuals do not follow the rules of the Umma voluntarily in all cases, as is often claimed. I very strongly fear that the dictatorship of the group might win. This type of ideology, based on seventh-century pre-modern traditions, is spreading rapidly in many Muslim countries. Some people claim that Islam is only a religious faith. But that’s only part of the story. The other facet is Islam as an illiberal political ideology. When we talk about Islam these days, what is at stake is not freedom of faith, but individual rights. A collectivist ideology is about to take over, together with an oligopoly of power. I’m worried about this.

Listened to John McKenzie on 4CA who had a retired brigadier on the show. He claimed he knew Roberts-Smith personally. All the while belittling him, he suggested it would be wrong to sent the brave lad  back to Afghanistan, because Roberts-Smith’s standards would put  his compatriots in an awkward position, since it would make it impossible for them to meet them…..

That’s what I call learned stupidity. This is something they teach in the ivory towers of wakademia.

Democracy is a terrible system, its oppressive and unfair. What we really  need is more Muslims and  Marxist leftard liberals to spread the wealth around!

Islamic cultural enrichment in Norway: think of all the tasty Kebab shops, the couscous and the lamb, delicious! Where would Norway be without it!

In terms of values, 2010 was a red-letter year for Norway. Our innocence was destroyed. From one end of the country to the other, and in no uncertain terms, Islamists proclaimed their sinister message. Henceforth, only those in deep denial will insist that our freedom is not endangered. And only true innocents will fail to grasp that we are headed for a raging conflict about values.

It all started at the same spot where Quisling and his followers held rallies in the 1930s. Around 3,000 people filled University Square in Oslo on February 12, 2010, many of them dressed just like Muhammed himself –  a long coat, baggy, ankle-high pants, and a head covering, plus full beard. In the gravest of tones, they articulated their contempt for the society that has given them so many benefits. The threat of a new September 11 on Norwegian soil, issued by Mohyeldeen Mohammed (who had studied sharia in Medina), marked the end of one era and the beginning of a new one.

Oddly enough, it was jihadists yet again. “Five Car Bombs Strike Baghdad Neighborhoods,” by John Leland in the New York Times, January 23 (thanks to JW):

BAGHDAD — Shattering a months-long period of relative calm in the capital, five car bombs exploded in different neighborhoods around Baghdad on Sunday morning, killing at least six people and wounding 30. The military defused another three car bombs….The attacks began shortly after 7, despite heightened security for the Shiite holiday of Arbain, an annual magnet for sectarian violence.

The bombs struck Sunni neighborhoods as well as Shiite ones. Two appeared directed at security forces, one at Iranian pilgrims marching in commemoration of Arbain. Targets of the other two were unclear. At least two of the cars used were taxis, which detonated when police officers were nearby, suggesting that they were set off remotely by people watching the scene….

• Egypt blames Palestinian Army of Islam for New Year’s Day church bombing (Must be the army of Islam that has nothing to do with Islam….)
• Pakistan: Christians converting to Islam out of fear for their safety (there is no compulsion in religion, but if you submit to Islam, you might live another day….)

We are coming to the end of a two-century Anglosphere dominance, and of a world whose order and prosperity many people think of as part of a broad, general trend but which, in fact, derive from a very particular cultural inheritance and may well not survive it. To point out how English the world is is, of course, a frightfully un-English thing to do. No true Englishman would ever do such a ghastly and vulgar thing. You need some sinister rootless colonial oik like me to do it. But there’s a difference between genial self-effacement and contempt for one’s own inheritance.

Not so long ago, Geert Wilders, the Dutch parliamentarian and soi-disant Islamophobe, flew into London and promptly got shipped back to the Netherlands as a threat to public order. After the British Government had reconsidered its stupidity, he was permitted to return and give his speech at the House of Lords—and, as foreigners often do, he quoted Winston Churchill, under the touchingly naive assumption that this would endear him to the natives. Whereas, of course, to almost all members of Britain’s governing elite, quoting Churchill approvingly only confirms that you’re an extremist lunatic. I had the honor a couple of years back of visiting President Bush in the White House and seeing the bust of Churchill on display in the Oval Office. When Barack Obama moved in, he ordered Churchill’s bust be removed and returned to the British. Its present whereabouts are unclear. But, given what Sir Winston had to say about Islam in his book on the Sudanese campaign, the bust was almost certainly arrested at Heathrow and deported as a threat to public order.

Somewhere along the way a quintessentially British sense of self-deprecation curdled into a psychologically unhealthy self-loathing. A typical foot-of-the-page news item from The Daily Telegraph:

A leading college at Cambridge University has renamed its controversial colonial-themed Empire Ball after accusations that it was “distasteful.” The £136-a-head Emmanuel College ball was advertised as a celebration of “the Victorian commonwealth and all of its decadences.Students were urged to “party like it’s 1899” and organisers promised a trip through the Indian Raj, Australia, the West Indies, and 19th century Hong Kong.

But anti-fascist groups said the theme was “distasteful and insensitive” because of the British Empire’s historical association with slavery, repression and exploitation.

The Empire Ball Committee, led by presidents Richard Hilton and Jenny Unwin, has announced the word “empire” will be removed from all promotional material.

The way things are going in Britain, it would make more sense to remove the word “balls.”

Austria:  Eurabia/ On Allah’s Orders vs  SOS-Österreich-Blog

How would you like to get your mail on the orders of Allah?

A Muselmanic postal worker in Austria plastered a sign on his truck  “Hüküm Allahin –”  (on Allah’s orders…) which would violate his employment contract. The good people from  SOS-Österreich-Blog took a picture and posted it on the web.

Much to their surprise they received a demand to cease and desist,  from a local shyster, along with an invoice of 300.00 Euro’s (ca $500.00)

Lets see how that one peters out…..
