The Egyptian foreign ministry appears to be rejecting President Obama’s call for an immediate transition from the government of President Hosni Mubarak — and says that such calls are inciting violence.

This development must be taken in the context of today’s report describing the Obama administration’s contacts with the Muslim Brotherhood, which has been dutifully playing up the importance of democracy and downplaying its Islamic agenda. Both democracy and the appearance of moderation are means to an end. (JW)

Hussein Obama has endorsed a role for the Muslim Brotherhood in a new, post-Mubarak government for Egypt.

This should come as no surprise. Obama has behaved consistently all along, from his refusal to back the protesters in Iran, who were demonstrating against an Islamic Republic, to his backing of these protesters in Egypt, to whom he has just given a green light to establish a government that, given numerous historical precedents, will likely be the precursor to an Islamic Republic.

Contrary to claims that it is a moderate organization, the Muslim Brotherhood is actually the prototypical Islamic supremacist, pro-Sharia group of the modern age. Founded by Hasan al-Banna in Egypt in 1928, the Brotherhood emerged as a response to colonialism and Western influence in the Islamic world. Al-Banna wrote that “a wave of dissolution which undermined all firm beliefs was engulfing Egypt in the name of intellectual emancipation. This trend attacked the morals, deeds and virtues under the pretext of personal freedom. Nothing could stand against this powerful and tyrannical stream of disbelief and permissiveness that was sweeping our country.” His remedy? Restoration of Islamic law as the ruling principle of governance.

In the current turmoil in Egypt, one of the oldest and biggest opposition parties, the Muslim Brotherhood, has kept a low profile.
Banned in the past, it is now keen to play a greater political role in a post-Mubarak Egypt.

Am I the Only One Troubled By Cairo Street Scenes?

For days now, the mainstream and leftstream media have been telling us that the Muslim Brotherhood isnot dangerous, not radically Islamist—but that even if they are Islamist that they are popular amongst the people. Western leftists view the Brothers as engaged in a Hamas-like form of soup kitchen social work/theocratic totalitarianism, but who nevertheless have earned the right to be democratically voted into power by the people.

Short-sightedly, they claim that if we are serious about standing for democracy and the vote, that we have no choice but to support what may turn out to be an even worse tyranny than that of Mubarak’s.

Such journalists also claim that the Egyptian people in the streets are not “political,” that they are impoverished, broken, barefoot warriors who have heroically risen up for jobs, food, and an end to corruption and tyranny. Indeed, the people may not be “political”—but their heroism may end up benefiting those who, unlike themselves, are already organized militarily, economically, and ideologically—like the Muslim Brotherhood.  (Source)

Yemeni Muslims Kidnap Jewish Child to Pressure his Community to Withdraw Murder Charges (Arutz Sheva)

A young Jewish boy was kidnapped in Reida, Yemen on the Sabbath, according to the Yemen Post. The child was reportedly taken hostage in an attempt to force the local Jewish community to forgive a terrorist killer.

The kidnap victim has been identified as eight-year-old Yamin Ameran Al-Nahari.

Sources told the Yemen Post that the kidnapping was linked to the 2008 murder of Moshe Nahari, a Torah teacher and leading member of the Jewish community. Nahari’s killer, local Muslim man Abed el-Abdi, called out “Jew, receive the message of Islam” before shooting him.

The kidnappers are hoping to pressure the Jewish community into publicly forgiving Abdi, which may convince the courts to commute his sentence to a fine.

Abdi has been sentenced to death for murdering Nahari. He had previously murdered his wife, but was not jailed after her family agreed to accept financial compensation in lieu of a criminal trial.

The Jewish community of Yemen, already small, has dwindled in recent years as many flee the country due to violence. The rise of Al-Qaeda in the country, in particular, has sparked an interest in aliyah (immigration to Israel).

Catherine Herridge, the broad that quacks about “two factions of the Muslim Brotherhood, the doves and the hawks” is ridiculous.

“Doves & Hawks” in the MB- really? Does Catherine buy her information in a Kebab shop?

That’s just as absurd as the invention of the ‘moderate’ Muslim.

What’s next? Vegetarian cannibals? Sensitive rapists? Merciful halal butchers? Humanitarian Nazis?

What does it take for the likes of Catherine to parrot the tale of the elevated status of a dhimmi, or the elevated status of women in Islam?

With Mubarak stepping down, it is imperative that Americans be informed about the nature and goals of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is likely to be the key player in Egypt’s next government. Here is a Fox News backgrounder on the Brotherhood, featuring a brief appearance by Robert Spencer:

Those who believe they are commanded to kill and die for Allah will win:

Perhaps the most significant tensions among them are between young secular activists and the Muslim Brotherhood, which wants to form a state governed by Islamic law. The more secular are deeply suspicious the Brotherhood aims to co-opt what they contend is a spontaneous, popular movement. American officials have suggested they have similar fears.

The “more secular” will not stand and fight for their beliefs, they are secular because they want to live. The soldiers of Allah are prepared to kill and die to make profit Moe’s religion dominant. Egypt is cooked. You can stick a fork in it.

Now it’s Jordan’s turn:

KING Abdullah II of Jordan has sacked the government after weeks of protests, but his choice of replacement premier failed to satisfy the powerful Islamist opposition’s demands for reform.

The king overnight named Maruf Bakhit, 64, to replace Samir Rifai, 43, with orders to carry out “true political reforms,” the palace said, but the Islamists criticised the choice, saying he is not a reformist…

The Islamists have long charged that the 2007 election was rigged after only six of the IAF’s 22 candidates were victorious that year, a tally sharply down on the 17 seats the group won in the previous polls in 2003.

Loyalists of the king again won a landslide in new elections last November after the IAF boycotted the poll in protest at constituency boundaries they said under-represented their urban strongholds.

You see the price to pay for suppressing democracy, even if to keep out Islamists. It just makes Islamists seem like democrats, and makes democrats feel like Islamists.

New evidence has come to light in support of RedState’s assertion that the American Left had a role in setting off the potentially disastrous chaos in Egypt. It gives the lie to the impression Obama has created that he is once again vacillating uselessly on the sidelines as a world that cannot be explained by his sophomoric ideology spins out of control. Actually, he has been very much engaged, going back farther than anyone would have imagined.

Two week ago,WND broke the storythat Adhami declared in a separate lecture that Muslims have “more of a right” than Jews to the biblical prophet Moses.

They just finished distancing themselves from Rauf after he was exposed as anything but “moderate.” That’s why they brought in Adhami in the first place. And now they “sought yesterday to distance themselves from Adhami’s comments and backpedal on his role in the $100 million project.”

Who will be next? Will the thuggish and shady Ground Zero Mosque developer Sharif El-Gamal and his henchmen finally be able to find a plausible “moderate” they can sell successfully to an ignorant and unwitting non-Muslim public? Or will there be an endless stream of imams with unsavory ties to jihadists and Islamic supremacists and histories full of “extreme” statements?

He cut a smart figure in his grey suit and crisply ironed shirt. The 6ft tall Somalian bowed to the judge, calling him ‘Sir’, before begging for his wife, Fatima, and their teenage son to be allowed to stay in Britain.

Fatima, with a black khimar veil covering her hair and shoulders, sat quietly next to her husband.

In her late 30s and wearing open sandals, she lowered her dark eyes as the details of the unconventional life she and her husband, Abdi, led in the West London suburb of Shepherd’s Bush unfolded at a busy immigration court.

The judge listened in silence. Perhaps he knew from past experience what was coming next. Abdi went on to reveal that Fatima was not his only wife.

Indeed, he was a self-confessed bigamist who had a second, much younger wife and a 13-year-old daughter by her. They both lived nearby.

‘I visit them regularly,’ said Abdi, 51, who arrived in Britain in the 1990s and works in an old people’s home. ‘I have done nothing wrong. In Somalia, it is normal to have two wives  -  even three or four. Fatima is still my wife and she should not be deported.’
