EU shills for Islamic Turkey

EU chief heads to Turkey with warning on possible ban against governing Islamic-rooted party

The Associated Press

BRUSSELS, Belgium: The European Union warned Turkey on Wednesday that attempts to ban its Islamic-rooted governing party could damage the country’s ties with the 27-nation bloc it seeks to join.

EU chief Jose Manuel Barroso, who begins a three-day visit to Ankara on Thursday, said that banning the Justice and Development Party would have a “major impact” on Turkey’s ties with the EU.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s party is accused of trying to undermine Turkey’s constitutional secular principles.

“It’s not normal that the party that was chosen by the majority of the Turkish people is now under this kind of investigation,” Barroso said.

Turkey’s Constitutional Court has agreed to hear the chief prosecutor’s case for shutting down the party and banning Erdogan, President Abdullah Gul and 70 others from politics for five years.

Barroso urged the court to “take a decision based on the principles of law, based on democracy and the respect for standards we have in Europe.”

Barroso said the case “could have a major impact also in the way Turkey is seen” by EU nations and whether it should continue its bid to join the bloc.

“We are looking for a secular, democratic Turkey,” Barroso said, adding “you cannot impose secularism by force.”

* Perhaps not. But the Islamic state will not stop using force to impose Islamic rule…

The EU opened entry talks with Turkey in 2005, but there has been little progress amid disagreements over Cyprus and opposition from France and other EU countries. The EU also has urged Turkey to increase religious freedoms and rights for Turkey’s Kurdish minority, and to revise a law that restricts freedom of speech.

During his visit, which is aimed at pressuring Turkey to speed up economic and political reforms, Barroso will address the Turkish parliament and hold talks with Erdogan and Gul.

* Islamic Turkey must never be allowed in the EU

Algerian President: "Real Jihad v/s Fake Jihad"

Abdelaziz Bouteflika: What The Salafis Are Doing Is Not Real Jihad

Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika said, in a statement read out by his advisor, that the real jihad was the war of liberation against the repression of French colonization, and not what the terrorists today are doing in their corruption of the land and their destruction of civilization.

Bouteflika added that jihad is also freeing oneself from ossification and building a just state in accordance with Islam’s humanist values.

"Gunmen" blow up British cemetery monument in Gaza

Herald Tribune

* Not even the dead can rest in peace:

The ‘peace’ of islam, soon coming to a theater near you…

GAZA: Palestinian gunmen blew up a monument in a British-run cemetery for foreign soldiers in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip on Thursday, witnesses and British diplomats said.

Witnesses said gunmen blew up the two-metre (6.5-foot) high stone monument in Britain’s Gaza War Cemetery in central Gaza. No group claimed responsibility for the attack.

A statement issued by the British Consulate General in Jerusalem said the Gaza War Cemetery contains graves of British and other foreign soldiers who were killed in conflicts in the region from as early as World War One.

Many tombstones in the graveyard are marked with a cross or star of David, indicating that both Christians and Jews were buried there.

“The history of this region is complex. But the right of the dead to lie in peace and dignity is simple and should be respected by all,” the statement said. “We hope that the authorities in Gaza will make every effort to apprehend those responsible.”

Mohammed Awaja, the cemetery’s caretaker who lives nearby, said he heard the explosion. “We had no idea that it was in the cemetery until two hours later when we discovered the explosion had blown up the monument,” he said.

Hamas security forces, which seized control of the coastal territory in June after routing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah forces, said they were investigating the incident.

US, Europeans say Islamic countries want to limit free speech at the UN

* Actually, they’re not just trying: the Arabs have succeeded in perverting just about everything the United Nations was founded for:

GENEVA – The United States, Canada and some European countries said Tuesday that Islamic nations were trying to limit freedom of speech at the UN by trying to make an independent rights expert scrutinize individuals instead of dictatorial regimes.

images11.jpeg

The amendment passed by the UN Human Rights Council in its rush to adjourn Friday told its expert on freedom of expression to report on people who abuse their free speech rights to espouse racial and religious discrimination.

The measure, proposed by Egypt and Pakistan, passed 32-0 with the support of Islamic, Arab and African nations. European nations and some other countries abstained.

“The resolution adopted attempts to legitimize the criminalization of expression,” said Warren W. Tichenor, U.S. ambassador to the UN in Geneva.

The document seeks to impose “restrictions on individuals rather than to emphasize the duty and responsibility of governments to guarantee, uphold, promote and protect human rights,” he told the council.

The United States is not a member of the council but has rights to speak as an observer.

The expert should “report instances in which the abuse of the right of freedom of expression constitutes an act of racial or religious discrimination,” according to the measure.

Ambeyi Ligabo, a legal expert from Kenya, currently holds the post.

Slovenia’s ambassador Andrej Logar, speaking on behalf of the European Union, said “the focus of the mandate is shifting from protection of freedom of expression to limitation thereto.”

Terry Cormier, a member of the Canadian delegation, said the resolution “turns the special rapporteur’s mandate on its head.”

“The job of a special rapporteur is not to police the action of individuals. It is to monitor and support the compliance of states with their international human rights obligations,” he told the council.

The 47-nation council is dominated by Arab and other Muslim countries.

Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan, who was speaking on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, denied that the resolution would limit free speech.

It only tries to make freedom of expression responsible, he said.

* Good one: By killing ‘blasphemers’ and by elevating Islam over everything, freedom of expression becomes ‘responsible’…

Egyptian Ambassador Sameh Shoukry said there was a growing trend to erode human rights law, permitting “some of the worst practices that incite racial and religious hatred.”

* Translation: ‘human rights’ means rights for Muslims only, (remember: only Muslims are human)  and critique and mockery of Islam ‘incites racial & religious hatred’…

Islamic groups have been demanding limits on free speech since a Danish magazine published caricatures of Muhammad, provoking riots across the Islamic world in 2006.

Ligabo told the Associated Press in an interview last month that he was against any groups of individuals inciting hatred based on religious belief.

But, he said: “We advocate the rights of individuals, not of a particular belief or ideology.”

Paris-based group Reporters Without Borders condemned the amendment.

“It turns someone who is supposed to defend freedom of opinion into a prosecutor whose job is to go after those who abuse this freedom,” it said.

New York-based Human Rights Watch said the resolution turns the expert’s mandate into a policing function over individual freedom of expression and questioned the very basis of media freedom and independence.

Bilal Hussein Escapes Justice (For Now)

The AP and Bilal Hussein: Story is not over

sez Michelle Malkin

5hussein0051.jpg

The Associated Press is reporting:

An Iraqi judicial committee has dismissed terrorism-related allegations against Associated Press photographer Bilal Hussein and ordered him freed after nearly two years in U.S. military custody.
The decision by a four-judge panel says Hussein’s case falls under a new amnesty law and orders Iraqi courts to “cease legal proceedings.” The ruling says that Hussein should be “immediately” released if no other charges are pending.

The ruling is dated Monday but AP’s lawyers were not able to thoroughly review it until Wednesday.

There is more to this story, believe me. Amnesty does not equal absolution.
Stay tuned–and do not just rely on the conflict-of-interest-addled Associated Press for the news.

Nine killed as Gaza militants storm Israeli border

by Adel Zaanoun/AFP

Two Israeli civilians and seven Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in an explosion of violence on the Gaza Strip border after Palestinian commandos stormed into Israel.

The attack came after early morning fighting left an Israeli soldier and a Palestinian gunman dead, shattering a month-long lull that followed a bloody Israeli blitz on Gaza aimed at halting rocket fire.

The Israeli army said Palestinian fighters, under cover of mortar fire, breached the border near the Nahal Oz terminal that provides Gaza with its fuel supplies, and moved into Israel.

The militants shot dead two Israelis working at the terminal in what the army called a “failed abduction attempt.”

Islamic Jihad and two smaller militant groups claimed responsibility, but the Israeli government said Hamas, the Islamist group controlling Gaza, was ultimately responsible.

The army said two militants were killed at the border, with a senior official saying they were hit by tank fire as they fled back to Gaza.

An air strike aimed at militants fleeing the border battle hit a vehicle carrying Islamic Jihad militants, wounding three, and a second near a petrol station in Gaza City killed a militant and a civilian, medics said.

A third air strike in Gaza City later wounded another three people, they said.

The JP has no such euphemisms for fanatical Islamic killers:

Two Israelis were killed when at least four Palestinian terrorists infiltrated the Nahal Oz fuel terminal from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

Oleg Lipson, 37 and Lev Cherniak, 53, both residents of Beersheba, were employed at the terminal, which supplies the Gaza Strip with most of its fuel.

IDF troops and emergency medical teams, who arrived on the scene, came under heavy gun and mortar fire.

Two of the terrorists were killed by the IDF in the terminal, and at least two others fled back to the Gaza Strip. In a swift response, the military dispatched aircraft which hit a car carrying at least one of the terrorists. According to a Hamas spokesman, the man was seriously injured. The army said two of the attackers were killed in the strike.

Egypt: No Love for ‘Palistanians’

“Israel transfers food, fuel, medicines, equipment and humanitarian supplies on a daily basis to the residents of the Gaza Strip,” Israel’s foreign ministry said.

“The terrorists who attacked the fuel terminal today are trying to harm this activity and thereby harm the lives and welfare of the residents of Gaza.”

On Tuesday, Hamas threatened to storm Gaza’s borders in a repeat of a breach in January that sent hundreds of thousands of Palestinians streaming into Egypt to stock up on supplies.

But Egypt warned on Wednesday that it would “not take lightly the protection of its frontiers against any attempt to violate them, no matter who they are.”

“Egypt’s borders are a red line you cannot cross,” Egypt’s state-run MENA news agency quoted an unnamed official as saying.

Report: Jimmy Carter to Meet With Hamas Leader in Syria

Some Carter critics called the latest reports typical of the ex-president.

“It’s about par for the course from President Carter, demonstrating a lack of judgment typical of what he does,” said John Bolton, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. “To go to Syria to visit Hamas at this point is just an ill-timed, ill-advised decision on his part.”

“I’m not surprised that Carter would do this, as he has been supporting Palestinian extremism for many years,” said Steve Emerson, director of the Investigative Project on Terrorism, a watchdog group.

The Dialogue

With thanks to Sir Henry Morgan:

“Eisvogel” of the German blog “Acht der Schwerter” just published this translation of her German article of November 2006 titled “Der Dialog“,
which has been quoted on several pages in the German-speaking internet in the meantime. A translation into Turkish might follow soon. Here is the English version of her message to Islam:

“Dear Muslims,

We think it is time to state openly that we are enemies. Many honest people on your side have already done that, it is about time that we follow suit.

We have followed your advice to concern ourselves with Islam by now. We have seen Obsession [and meanwhile “Fitna” as well], we have read Bat Ye´Or and Robert Spencer, we have seen the video messages by Osama Bin Laden and heard the statements by Islamic scholars from all over the world – especially from Kairo´s Al Azar University – and also by Mr. Ahmadinejad. Particularly during the so-called Cartoon Affair, we have also listened to the very impressive voice of the ordinary Islamic Joe. We have busied ourselves with studying our common history and we have used our god-given reason to draw comparisons to the present.

piedocul.gif

We have come to think that we have to apologize for our comportment which we have shown while we did not know all of the above. It was our fault, not yours, that we remained without interest in and knowledge about you. We also apologize for bothering you for ages with a “dialogue”, in which you were rightfully annoyed about our cluelessness, and in which we insisted on turning you into something Christian-like. We especially apologize for those amongst us who have promoted the term “Islamism” to denigrate the most righteous and Qu´ran-abiding Muslims. The attempt to explain to you your own religion (”Islam means peace”) was a serious faux-pas, and hence we understand that you were often angry about our arrogance. It is arrogant indeed to bend other peoples´ religion into a shape which pleases one better. We cannot blame you for adopting the term “Islam means peace”, since we know that your prophet Muhammad himself has advised you to take to lying when the infidels are too strong to be subdued by military means. Who are we to counsel you to challenge your prophet!

We outrightly acknowledge that you have studied us and our culture more extensively and understood it better than we yours. We also acknowledge (in hindsight, now that we know your goals and the methods advocated by Muhammad to achieve them) that your course of action was mostly straightforward, while our actions often consisted of haphazard stopgap measures.

Alas, by now we know what you want. You want to expand the Dar al-Islam at the expense of the Dar al-Harb and, in the long-run, install the rule of the Islam over the world. We also know that your method is called Jihad, and we are not that oafish to believe that Jihad only means violence. No, you are certainly not that primitive. Jihad also encompasses demographic efforts, migration, Da´Wa (proselytization), Taqiyya (deft lies), propaganda and the use of economic power (petrodollars). Furthermore, we also believe you that an inner Jihad exists, the individual effort to lead a life agreeable to Allah. That is your private affair and does not belong in our dialogue. We are not bothering you with the contents of our prayers, either. But of course we do not believe that the inner struggle is the only meaning of Jihad. We are not blind and your holy scriptures are fortunately available for us to study.

UK: Judiciary Supports Islamic Terrorists

abuqatadanew460.jpg

Abu Qatada at his north London home.

Appeal court blocks deportation of terror suspects

* Once upon a time, in fact right after 7/7, Tony BLiar announced that he would deport 500 Islamic clerics who preach hatred and incite terror attacks against infidels. Little has come of it, in fact NOTHING has come of it and there are now more Islamic hate preachers in the UK than ever:

UK’s Judiciary Sabotages the Home Office

The Guardian UK

The appeal court today blocked the deportation of Abu Qatada, accused of being al-Qaida’s “spiritual ambassador to Europe”, despite a “no torture” guarantee given to the British government by Jordan.

Judges also blocked the return of two Libyan terror suspects because the men would be at risk of torture and a “complete” denial of a fair trial if they were sent back from Britain.

Human Rights Watch described the two judgments as “a serious blow” to the government’s plan to deport alleged national security risks on the basis of assurances of humane treatment and fair trial on return.

The Home Office immediately announced it was dropping deportation cases against a further 10 Libyan terrorist suspects and placing them under control orders.

The rulings leave a major question mark over the strategy, initiated by Tony Blair, of deporting suspected international terrorists based on a series of “memoranda of understanding” with north African and Middle Eastern governments over their human rights treatment.

he home office minister, Tony McNulty, said the government would appeal, adding that Qatada would remain in prison in the interim.

The judges had, McNulty said, dismissed all but one of Qatada’s reasons for appeal, relating to the issue of evidence obtained by torture in Jordan.

“We are seeking to overturn that point, and I believe that we will be able to secure his deportation to Jordan and we will push for it as soon as possible,” he said.

“In the meantime, he remains behind bars.”

McNulty said the government was disappointed at the ruling related to the two Libyan suspects and would “continue to push for deportations for people who pose a risk to national security”.

This morning’s court of appeal judgment in the case of Qatada, also known as Omar Othman, found little credibility in the Jordanian government’s promise that he would face a fair trial on his return.

The judges ruled that Jordan’s general intelligence department, the GID, was responsible for extracting confessions by torturing suspects in custody and it was likely that evidence obtained by torture would be used in Qatada’s trial.

Julia Hall of Human Rights Watch said: “These cases show that the British government should stop trying to deport people to countries whose justice systems are deeply tainted by torture and other abuses.”

The strategy of deporting terror suspects on the basis of no torture guarantees was announced by Tony Blair in the immediate aftermath of the July 7 London bombings. After months of negotiations, agreements were concluded with several countries, including Jordan and Libya, but today’s ruling puts the whole strategy in doubt.

Creating a European Indigenous People’s Movement

* The ruling socialist elites in the UK and other European nations are in the process of replacing their native population with a Muhammedan proletariat. The ever vigilant Fjordman suggests that native Europeans should create a European Indigenous People’s Movement.

veil.jpg

* Brussels Journal:

An American friend of mine has proposed that native Europeans should create a European Indigenous People’s Movement. I have hesitated with supporting this because it sounded a bit too extreme. However, in more and more European cities, the native population is being pushed out of their own neighborhoods by immigrant gangs. The natives receive little or no aid from their authorities, sometimes blatant hostility, when faced with immigrant violence. In an age where the global population increases with billions of people in a few decades, it is entirely plausible, indeed likely, that the West could soon become demographically overwhelmed. Not few of our intellectuals seem to derive pleasure from this thought.

Bat Ye’or in her book about Eurabia has documented how the European Union is actively allowing Muslims to colonize European countries. The next time EU leaders complain about China’s treatment of minorities, I suggest the Chinese answer the following: “Yes, we represent an anti-democratic organization dedicated to subduing the indigenous people of Tibet, but you represent an anti-democratic organization dedicated to displacing the indigenous peoples of an entire continent.” There is no love lost between me and the Chinese Communist Party, an organization responsible for the deaths of tens of millions of its citizens, but even Chinese authorities do not actively seek to displace their own people with violent Muslims. European authorities do.

In decadent societies of the past, the authorities didn’t open the gates to hostile nations and ban opposition to this as intolerance and barbarophobia. What we are dealing with in the modern West is not merely decadence; it’s one of the greatest betrayals in history. Our so-called leaders pass laws banning the opposition to our dispossession as “racism and hate speech.” To native Europeans, when listening to our media and our leaders, it’s as if we don’t even exist, as if it were normal for them to put the interests of other nations over their own. Despite having “democratic” governments, many Western countries have authorities that are more hostile to their own people than dictators in some developing countries. Why?

Ireland and the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

Seeing that the latest genetic research suggests that today’s ethnic Irish (and British) are the descendants of the people who arrived in Ireland (and Britain) after the end of the last Ice Age (around 16,000 years ago) with only a little admixture with later groups (i.e. Vikings and Normans) . . .

Indigenous peoples and individuals have the right not to be subjected to forced assimilation or destruction of their culture.
