In a brazen act of ground-braking forensic journalism, Daniel Piotrowski (below a picture of that milquetoast!) at News Ltd has uncovered the Q Society of Australia.

Duly incorporated and publicly on record since 2010, holding public meetings all around the country, sending out media releases, giving radio, TV and newspaper interviews and sporting a website with ABN, bank account and all the contact details one can wish for. Now that must be worth a Poolitzer for Daniel – plus a big cookie with cream from his editor.

Let us not talk falsely now; the hour’s getting late. Uthman Badar  and his group Hizb ut-Tahrir are not “radical” or “militant” or “extreme”, they are just devout Muslims. They take their Islam seriously. What is it that you don’t understand about that?

 AUSTRALIA and the US should be labelled terrorists for their Middle Eastern “invasions”, and pre-teen girls could “morally’’ be married off to adult men, according to reviled radical Islamic group Hizb ut-Tahrir.

The former claim was lobbed a day after the Sydney-based group’s chief propagandist Uthman Badar was stopped from delivering a provoking sermon at an Opera House arts festival that asked whether honour killings were “morally justified”.

Now who would have a problem with that statement?

The statement above came from former Fairfax (Queensland) One Nation candidate Mike Holt, who is married to a Thai and has two young children. Holt is rallying support against the Bendigo mosque through his Restore Australia and Islam4Infidels websites.

Bendigo Mayor Barry Lyons said Mr Holt’s extremist views were not welcome.

Cr Lyons seems to be quite a fruit loop:

Cr Lyons said regrettably it appeared that groups from outside Bendigo were attempting to use this fear to propagate hate.

“No one has the right to deny any person of any religion a place to worship based on prejudice…”

The Bendigo council received 432 objections to the construction of the mosque, the majority relating to concerns over the influence of Islam, the threat of terrorism, the introduction of Sharia Law, and the dilution of Christian values.

About 40 submissions of support were received.

Objectors say they will appeal against the decision in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Me thinks Bendigo needs a new mayor.

Hizb ut-Tahrir’s Sydney-based spokesman, Uthman Badar, was dumped late on Tuesday night from an Opera House cultural event after it was revealed he was to deliver a speech under the title “honour killings are morally justified”.

Intelligence agencies are believed to have recently repeated advice to the Attorney-General’s Department that proscribing Hizb ut-Tahrir as a terrorist organisation, which would make it illegal for anyone in Australia to be a member, would be difficult because it did not meet the threshold currently used to list terrorist groups.

 No honour to the killers of our culture
THE Sydney Opera House is Australia’s most iconic building. And on its stage in August was to be a taxpayer-funded talk: “Honour killings are morally justified.”

Be clear: the title is not a question but a statement.

Yes, in the heart of Australia we are now to rationalise the strangling, stoning, burning, beating or shooting of daughters and wives for supposedly shaming their men.

There hasn’t been such a startling symbol of our cultural elite’s loathing of our society and its weakening of our resistance to barbarity. Our civilisation is being betrayed.

In this case, Uthman Badar was invited by Sydney Opera House and the St James Ethics Centre for their Festival of Dangerous Ideas, and planned to attack critics of honour killings as the usual “secular (white) Westerner”, wickedly using these murders as a symbol of “everything that is allegedly wrong with the other culture”. Note: honour killings are only “allegedly wrong”.

Yes, to see Westerners criticise an “Oriental” woman-killer was to see “the powerful condemn the powerless”, according to the blurb approved by Badar. Pity those powerless murderers.

Note one further sinister thing. The festival gave Badar this platform even though he is spokesman for the Islamist extremist Hizb ut-Tahrir, at war with almost every important value and freedom we have.

ABC presenter on the justification for honour killings

From 3:49, the ABC’s James Carleton explains the benefits of knowing the justification for honour killings. He opposes honour killings, of course, but now far better understands why they may seem necessary.

Incredibly, he then adds the difference between him giving this rationalisation and Uthman Badar is that he himself is non-Muslim, and the opposition to Badar must therefore be based on Islamophobia.

This is, of course, rubbish. Social Media does not incite terrorism, Islam does that.

The Chinese government is being insufficiently ruthless with the Uighurs. It allows them, for example, to have two children, while Han Chinese are limited to one. It might conduct an anti-religion campaign in Xinjiang, holding up Islam for analysis and mockery, pointing out the many failues — social, political, economic, intellecutal, and moral, of this war-fighting and mad-for-conquest faith. They might make efforts to revive interest in the Mongols, and the Turkic tribes, and to remind Uighurs of the alternative identity, and history, available to them, and to convince them that the time that the Muslims say is that of Jahiliyya, ignorance, because it was before Islam arrived, is worth studyiing and celebrating.

But mainly, the Chinese government should analyze, and then disseminate its analysis, of the many failures of Muslim societies. Why, despite having received nearly $24 trillion since 1973 alone, have the Muslim states of OPEC failed to build real econmies? What is it about the hatred of innovation, bida, and the inshallah-fatalism of Islam, that explains the economic backwardness of all Muslim states, save those such as Lebanon, with a large fructifying Christian population, or Turkey, where Kemalism systematically constrained the power of Islam? What is it about Islam that encourages submission to a despot (this might be hard for the Chinese government to discuss, or perhaps not)? What is it that keeps women in a state of submission, dull breeders without more? What is it that makes it so difficult for all  non-Muslims to trust Muslims, or to be treated semi-decently in societies dominated by Islam? How have Muslims treated the art and artifacts, or monuments, of the many different peoples — Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, Jews — whose lands they have conquered, over 1400 years? And how is it that Islam is a vehicle for Arab supremacism, indifferent to, or contemptuous of, the histories of the non-Arabs who convert to Islam?

The Chinese, without Western inhibitions, could work to undermine the tug of Islam among the Uighurs. It would be worth trying, and might teach the West some lessons.
