The issue of Jihad and the ideology of Islamic supremacism has still not been addressed by either candidate in significant detail. Senator Obama incorrectly keeps suggesting that Jihad is merely a matter of education or financial investment by Americans, when Jihadists are frequently well-educated and often come from financially independent families. Senator Obama also suggests that America has not provided enough funds to Islamist nations, when we have provided massive contributions to Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Indonesia. Senator McCain continues to suggest that Jihad is by “Islamic extremists,” without defining who and what “extremism” is. Senator McCain also suggests that America needs to encourage “moderates” to “win the battle for the soul of Islam” without providing any explanation what those phrases mean. The candidates continue to allow discussion on tactical issues to control their campaigns, but the larger strategic issues on the “war of ideas” against Jihad are not subjects that they seem willing to address.

The Grand Reopening

Did you think you would ever see this in your  lifetime?

Germany’s biggest  synagogue, on Rykestrasse in Berlin
has reopened after a lavish  restoration.

Rabbi Chaim Roswaski,  who presided at the ceremony,described the reconstruction as “a  miracle.”

The synagogue was set  ablaze on Kristallnacht, or the Night of Broken Glass, in  1938.

Manila, Muslim rebels reach deal on homeland

ZAMBOANGA CITY: Philippine negotiators and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) rebels reached an agreement yesterday on the issue of ancestral domain, a breakthrough in the seven-year old peace talks aimed at putting an end to more than four decades bloody fighting in Mindanao.

Philippine peace adviser Secretary Hermogenes Esperon said both panels have agreed on the deal at the end of meeting late yesterday in Malaysia, which is brokering the negotiations.

“The issue on the ancestral domain is finally settled and we now go to the final peace talks where all previous agreements will be formally signed. We have informed President Gloria Arroyo about the progress of the talks and she is very elated,” Esperon said.

The MILF earlier in the day said the issue on the ancestral domain must be resolved immediately. It said will not sign any peace deal with the Arroyo government unless its demand for self-determination is granted.

*  Unfortunately for the hapless Philippino government, it won’t stop there. Because the believers are obligated to make the world Islamic: the world belongs to Allah, because it says so in the Koran.  Autonomy? Land deals? Foggeddabbautit! It will only encourage the soldiers of Allah to demand more. Because they’re entitled to it.  Because It says so in the Koran and the sunnah…

BEIRUT, Lebanon (CNN) — Five Lebanese militants, including a convicted murderer, received heroes’ welcomes Wednesday as they returned to Beirut from Israel as part of a prisoner swap.

Once in Beirut, convicted murderer Samir Kuntar — who was the longest-held Lebanese prisoner in Israel — told a crowd of thousands he’d continue to fight for the liberation of the Palestinian territories.

“I return today from Palestine, but believe me, I return to Lebanon only in order to return to Palestine,” Kuntar said.

Kuntar — convicted of killing a man and a girl in Israel in 1979 — and the other four were released by Israel and crossed into southern Lebanon to cheers. They then were flown to Beirut, where Lebanese President Michel Suleiman called them “our dear liberated heroes.”

This is the animal (Sami Kuntar) Olmert set free today to receive a “hero’s welcome” in Lebanon. This is a dark day for Israel:

“After drowning Danny [the father] in the sea in front of Einat (as Ahmed Al-Brass, Mhanna Salim Al-Muayed, and Abdel Majeed Asslan served as look outs and backup cover for Kuntar), Kuntar turned his attention towards the 4 year-old. He took his rifle and then swung it across the toddler’s head, knocking her to the ground. Kuntar then dragged the toddler a couple of feet to the closest rock he could find and laid her head down on a rock, with the intention of crushing it with the butt of his rifle. Einat, instinctively covered her head with her arms, Kuntar struggled with the toddler until he finally managed to clear her arms out of the way. Once her arms were out of the way, Kuntar repeatedly beat her on the head with the butt of his rifle and stomping on her body, until blood rushed out of her ears and mouth. Then, to ensure she was dead, Kuntar continued beating her over the head until her skull was crushed and she was dead.”  (more here is you can stand it)

The other four are Lebanese militants captured during the Hezbollah-Israel war two years ago. Israel on Wednesday also released the remains of 199 fighters from Lebanon.

Earlier Wednesday, Hezbollah released to Israel the bodies of two Israeli soldiers who had been abducted in 2006, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Samir Kuntar and four other Lebanese prisoners will receive an official state welcoming when they are released by Israel.

The five men will be greeted at Beirut’s airport by Prime Minister Fuad Saniora and President Gen. Michel Suleiman.

Later, a huge rally will be held in the capital’s southern suburbs where Hizbullah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah will speak, the group’s Al-Manar TV has said.

French news agency AFP reported that the coastal road from the Israeli border to the southern port city of Sidon had been covered with Hizbullah decorations, and hundreds of volunteers had been hanging banners to praise Hizbullah’s role in the prisoners’ release throughout the south of the country.

UK: Mosque hope divides Brentwood

A COMMUNITY has been left divided by controversial plans for a mosque in Brentwood.

The Gazette exclusively revealed plans by the Muslim community last week to purchase a commercial property for use as a permanent prayer and community centre at an unnamed location in Pilgrims Hatch.

Update: The Gazette has removed most of the comments because of “Vitriolic, bigoted racist filth, unsubstantiated abuse” – according to Matt Adams, acting PC-commissar/Assistant editor who is spooked by racial vilification laws. Matt Adams sends out letters to  posters with “Your comment has been removed from publication for inciting racial  hatred.”

Scottish government  funds Muslim Brotherhood

The Center for Social Cohesion (thanks to USS Neverdock) establishes that the Scottish Islamic Foundation, the recipient of the funds here, is a Muslim Brotherhood group.

Pigs Heads In Mosque Yard Sparks Massive Riot

Thousands of Muslims rioted in India after pigs heads were found in the mosque yard.
Israel National News reported:

Nearly 2,000 Indian Muslims recently clashed with police after they discovered that pigs’ heads were placed inside the compounds of two mosques. A pig’s head was discovered at the washing area near the entrance of one mosque after more than a dozen Muslims already had entered. A growing crowd marched on a police station and demanded that the offenders be punished, but the mob then began throwing stones at passing buses, forcing police to react.

Policemen used tear gas to disperse the mob, and four policemen were inured. Buses and shops were torched and ransacked.

Dr Rowan Williams also criticised Christianity’s history for its violence, its use of harsh punishments and its betrayal of its peaceful principles.

His comments came in a highly conciliatory letter to Islamic leaders calling for an alliance between the two faiths for ‘the common good’.

*  “Common Good” for Muslims means  sharia, submission to Islam. Nothing more, nothing less…

But it risked fresh controversy for the Archbishop in the wake of his pronouncement earlier this year that a place should be found for Islamic sharia law in the British legal system.

Dr Williams is also facing immense pressures from inside his own Church of England and Anglican Communion.
