Police, Improperly Clad Women Clash In Tehran
Sharia enforcement turns violent in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Male and female police officers clashed with women who were not dressed according to the Islamic dress code….
One girl who refused to get into the police car was beaten by police, and removed from the area by civilians who were called to the scene.

The recent Police brutality against women, because of their “improper” veils, has caused disgust and anger in the Iranian blogosphere. Although some bloggers were initially worried that revealing the injured women’s face may put her in danger of prosecution, the very picture of a women with bloody face has been circulated in the Internet, both inside and outside Iran. Balatarin, the Iranian Digg, created a hot topic to cover the story. Right after the first picture was linked in Balatarin, it hit a record high in terms of number of votes, comments and clicks.
The anger is not a matter of political view. Simply, the mainstream blogosphere is up on their feet. These are some reactions inside Iran.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali appreciates the goodness, and uniqueness, of Western civilization; she’s trying to make sure the rest of us do the same.

A culture that celebrates femininity is not equal to a culture that trims the genitals of her girls.
A culture that holds the door open to her women is not equal to one that confines them behind walls and veils.
A culture that spends millions on saving a baby girl’s life is not equal to a one that uses its first encounter with natal technology to undertake mass abortion simply because baby girls are not welcome.
A culture with courts that punish a husband for forcing his wife to have sex with him is not equal to a culture with a tribunal that decrees a young woman be gang-raped for talking to a boy of an allegedly higher caste.
A culture that encourages dating between young men and young women is not equal to a culture that flogs or stones a girl for falling in love.
A culture that insists on holding open a position for women in its Supreme Court is not equal to a culture that declares that the testimony of a woman is worth half of that of a man.
Denying the obvious incompatibility that exists between the mind slavers and freedom loving people in this multi-cultural backwater cannot be tolerated any longer. The mullah’s and mufti’s are absolute animals leading the gullible muslim to ruin at every turn with their sermons of bigotry and the sooner pollies and journo’s and other people of notoriety state these facts the better we ALL will be…
“When I first came to a Western country, I was astonished to find men who said, ‘Ladies first,’” Ayaan Hirsi Ali recently recalled. “I was amazed because I was born and raised in a culture that put me last because I was born a girl.”
The former Dutch parliamentarian captivated some 1,500 guests at the Congress of Racial Equality’s 23rd annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ali received CORE’s International Brotherhood Award January 15 at the New York Hilton. As a woman whom radical Muslims have marked for death, her message deserves every American’s attention.
First and foremost, Ali argues, the West should champion a culture that is superior to militant Islam, which has civilization itself in its crosshairs. As she puts it: “Human beings are equal; cultures are not.”
“A culture that holds the door open to her women is not equal to one that confines them behind walls and veils,” Ali told CORE. “A culture that encourages dating between young men and young women is not equal to a culture that flogs or stones a girl for falling in love. A culture where monogamy is an aspiration is not equal to a culture where a man can lawfully have four wives all at once.”
“Ayaan Hirsi Ali is the single most important figure in the fight for awareness of the plight of women in Islam,” says Douglas Murray, a fellow with the Social Affairs Unit, a London-based think tank, and author of NeoConservatism: Why We Need It. “Her own personal story and the eloquence and bravery that she has brought to the debate have brought the issue to the eyes of the world more than any other individual.” Murray notes that anti-Islamist Dutch parliamentary candidate “Pim Fortuyn said before his assassination, ‘It is five minutes to midnight, not just in Holland, but in the whole of Europe.’ With Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s departure, the Netherlands has gone back to sleep a little, and Pim’s clock is a stroke closer to midnight.”
Ali is grateful for what the West has done for her and many others it shields from Islamofascism. She despairs, however, for the West’s wavering self-confidence.
“Unfortunately, it is this culture that is under threat today,” she told CORE’s guests. “Many of those born into it take it for granted or, worse, apologize for it.” As Ayaan Hirsi Ali asked: “Let’s join together to protect this culture of life, this culture of liberty, this culture of ladies first.”

Iran planning strike on Europe: analyst
Iran is attempting to draw up plans to strike targets in Europe and has reconnoitered European nuclear power stations, a security analyst told a meeting at Britain’s parliament.
Claude Moniquet, president of the European Strategic Intelligence and Security Centre, a private think-tank in Brussels, said his organisation also had evidence Tehran has increased the number of its intelligence agents across Europe.
“We have serious signals that something is under preparation in Europe,” Moniquet said. “Iranian intelligence is working extremely hard to prepare its people and to prepare actions.”
The centre, which he said deals directly with European intelligence agencies, believes Iranian operatives have carried out “reconnaissance of targets in European cities, including nuclear power stations,” Moniquet said. He mentioned no other specific targets.
Preparations to target Europe’s nuclear energy plants could be tied to the diplomatic standoff over Tehran’s contested nuclear program, he told a meeting of MPs and analysts in London’s House of Commons.
Iran appeared to be preparing to target “British citizens on the streets of London,” Moniquet said. “Just as they kill British soldiers in the south of Iraq.”
