UN Envoy  Louise Arbour Slams Opposition to Migrant Pact as Latvia Is Latest to Pull Out

The UN slammed “xenophobic” terms like “illegal immigrant” which it said was behind “negative reactions” to the migration pact, as Latvia revealed it would be the latest nation to withdraw from the controversial agreement.

On Thursday, lawmakers in Latvia voted 43 in favour and 31 against a resolution urging the government not to sign the Baltic country up to the so-called Global Compact for Safe and Orderly Migration, which is due to be ratified in Marrakech in just a few days’ time.

Despite the fast-growing list of countries pulling out of the agreement, some of the most recent of which include Italy, Slovakia, and Bulgaria, it was reported Friday that UN special representative for migration, Louise Arbour, was feeling “very confident” about the compact’s future.

Lithuania and Latvia say they will not sign the pact. The Flemish N-VA party, which is part of the Belgian governing coalition, has also come out against the Marrakesh pact.

In other news, French President Emmanuel Macron’s popularity has fallen to a new low of 18%.

The UN pact will be signed next week in Marrakesh by an ever-decreasing number of countries. At this point it is essentially an agreement by Britain, France, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, and a few other European countries to take in any and all third-world migrants who want to enter. Since the Schengen Agreement will allow those migrants to disperse to non-signatory European countries, the pact will have an effect on all of Western Europe. Mind you, the signatory countries are also the preferred destinations for migrants, generally speaking, so most of them will tend to stay in the Big Five.

This is a significant event for those unfortunate enough to live in the signatory states. Ms. Le Pen provides an invaluable summary of the major features of the pact, and describes the pernicious effect it will have on France and the rest of Europe.

Protesters wearing bright yellow vests — dubbed the Yellow Vests — are gathering along the famous Champs-Elysees, where stores, restaurants, and banks were shut down as a precaution against possible violence.

Security measures have been tightened in Paris ahead of the demonstrations. Dozens of armored vehicles and 89,000 troops — including 8,000 in Paris — will be on duty.

(AFP) — Images of dozens of high-school pupils kneeling with their hands behind their heads during mass round-ups sparked an outcry Friday as France braces for more violence at “yellow vest” protests this weekend.

Left-wing politicians in France have expressed outrage at the videos, which have gone viral on social media, showing the teenagers kneeling as riot police barked orders at them.

“Whatever wrong was done, nothing justifies this filmed humiliation of minors,” Socialist leader Olivier Faure tweeted.

Nigel Farage quits UKIP because its leader “seems obsessed with Islam, not just Islamic extremism, but Islam”

Farage says that Batten “seems to be pretty obsessed with the issue of Islam, not just Islamic extremism, but Islam, and UKIP wasn’t founded to be a party fighting a religious crusade.”

Maybe not, but how does Farage propose to separate “Islamic extremism” from “Islam”? And it makes no difference that “UKIP wasn’t founded to be a party fighting a religious crusade”; the Democrat Party wasn’t founded to be a party fighting for open borders and socialist government either, but that’s what it is now. No one is actually calling for a crusade, but Britain has a large and growing problem with jihad and Islamic supremacism. If UKIP doesn’t confront it, who will? Possibly no one, in which case the Sharia supremacists will certainly triumph, and Britain as we have known it will be dead.

It’s astonishing that Farage could be so short-sighted.
