White farmers in South Africa have the most dangerous job in the country, are twice as likely to be murdered than police and are killed at four times the rate of the wider community, a rights group claims.

This week, as the government moves to seize all white-owned land without compensation, civil rights organisation AfriForum claimed there had been 109 attacks which left 15 white farm workers dead so far this year.

This follows 82 killings and 423 attacks in 2016, though none of the figures can be verified because the South African government has refused to release farm murder statistics since 2007.

Some of the killings are reported to have been barbaric, with farm owners tortured, raped, burned alive and slaughtered in front of their families.

The head of a leading knife crime charity has predicted that violence in Sadiq Khan’s London will get worse before it gets better, as a crime wave in the capital claimed its eighth life in seven days.

Since March 14th, five people have been stabbed to death in the British capital, one shot dead, and one shot and stabbed, the Evening Standard reports.

“I think what we have just seen in the last 24 or 48 hours confirms that we are in a crisis in relation to the amount of crime – and, sadly, there is no quick fix for this,” observed Patrick Green, CEO of the Ben Kinsella Trust, which is named after a 16-year-old teen who was stabbed to death by three black youths after they decided one of his friends had given them a funny look.

“I fear we have not seen the last of this sort of violence,” Green said.

What’s wrong with commonsense policies that discriminate between culturally compatible immigrants (say, Christians) or too often not (Muslims); costly to taxpayers or less so; potential contributors or “victims”; and so on?

We discriminate daily in many ways. We avoid sitting beside that bloke talking to himself, or that obese woman occupying most of the seat. Around our kitchen tables (to former Human Rights Commissioner Gillian Triggs’s horror) we laugh on seeing photos of someone as “white” as ourselves claiming Aboriginality, whereas we would never laugh at a genuine Aboriginal from, say, Arnhem.

Why not exercise similar common sense when choosing those immigrants whom we admit to permanent residence (and prospective citizenship)?

Bernardi is saying he wants to go after the ABC not on free speech grounds per se but for a lapse in taste, a fall in standards, collapsing manners and so on.

What a crock…

You don’t get to pick and choose. If you’re a conservative, then you’re for free speech, including vulgar speech.

That argument is surely wrong.

In fact, Overingon mistakes being “for free speech” with being “for” whatever anyone then chooses to use their free speech to say. She confuses the right with the content.

An alleged Islamic State terror cell of five Lebanese-born men, two of whom are Australians in custody in Sydney, face the death penalty  as a Lebanese military court prepares to hand down a sentence for the alleged Barbie bomb plot intended to ­explode an Etihad plane over NSW last year.

The Weekend Australian can reveal that the alleged bomb ­attack, which would have killed 400 passengers and crew 20 minutes into the flight from Sydney to Abu Dhabi on July 15 last year, was allegedly formulated inside the Islamic State caliphate capital Raqqa when two teen­agers fighting for the terrorist group, ­Mohammed and Abdul Rahman Khayat, were killed eight months earlier.

The alleged terrorist cell may have been relying on inside ­assistance at Sydney airport to smooth the bombs’ path through security points, as some evidence before the military court seems to suggest one of the alleged bombmakers had aviation links. The person with the airport link is named in the military court file as a relative of those charged in Australia over the terror plot.

However, the man has not been charged in Australia and it is extremely unlikely Australia would agree to an extradition ­request for him to face trial for an offence that could result in capital punishment.

Free countries honor natural rights, which generally entail your right to be free of coercion. The most crucial of them include the right to own property, the right of free speech, and the right to bear arms. In place of these rights, countries in the process of disintegrating into leftist tyranny offer privileges and goodies that come at the expense of the rights of others. A familiar example is the “right” to have other people provide you with healthcare goods and services, even if they have to be financed on a coercive basis. Like the United Nations, the government of South Africa has bestowed a universal “right” to education, so that everyone has a right for others to pay for it. Like all phony rights, this has not worked out:

Section 29 of the Constitution says every citizen has the right to a basic education and that the state – through reasonable measures – must make it available and accessible … and in South Africa our government each year allocates the lion’s share of its national budget to this very cause.

The results:

Of the 1 155 629 pupils who started Grade 1 in 2006, only 34.7% obtained a matric pass in 2017, according to data from Africa Check.

In addition, just 40% of 20-year-old respondents in the 2014, 2015 and 2016 General Household Surveys said they had a matric.

No doubt nonrespondents were even less likely to have obtained a matric — i.e., to have graduated from high school.

What’s worse:

Nearly 8 out of 10 children at Grade 4 level cannot read with meaning compared to 4 in 100 internationally, according to a PIRLS [Progress in International Reading Literacy Study] study conducted last year.

These numbers will not improve after the government has finished driving out (or killing off) the last whites.

Reasons given for this dismal performance include children dropping out of school to work because there are no parents in the household, drugs, alcohol, teen pregnancy, failure to see the value of education, the absence of books in the home, and of course, apartheid, which ended 24 years ago. In short, the reason is the dysfunctional culture, which brings us to the moral of the story:

Public education may be a good thing, but it is not a right. Authorities issuing a decree making it a “right” does not make people educated. Education, like wealth, is a product of a successful culture, not of government decrees.

A Russian model has been thrown in a Dubai detention prison despite giving harrowing new details of her claim that she was fought off ‘a knife-wielding rapist’ – saying she jumped ‘naked’ six floors to save her life.

Supporters of Ekaterina Stetsyuk, 22, who suffered serious back injuries requiring surgery, say she has been locked up because the man made a counter claim that she attacked him.

After two operations on her back, the woman has been moved to a detention centre, say her family.

Her alleged attacker – who she says was a 39-year-old Paki businessman not American as earlier reported – had invited her to discuss a future cosmetics business deal, say her family.

Stetsyuk claimed that he drank wine ‘and became violent’, threatening her with a knife, and demanding that she undress.
