GAZA CITY (AFP) – BBC journalist Alan Johnston was freed early Wednesday in Gaza City after nearly four months in captivity, following an agreement reached by the Islamist movement Hamas with his abductors.

“He was freed following an agreement with his kidnappers and he is in good health,” read a Hamas statement.

Johnston was seen outside the house of Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya wearing jeans and a blue T-shirt with BBC colleagues, an AFP journalist said.

BBC’s director in Gaza, Sayed Abu Samallah, confirmed to AFP that “Alan is in our hands and he is in good health.”

Johnston, an award-winning journalist, was the only Western reporter still based permanently in the Gaza Strip when he was snatched at gunpoint on March 12.

The Army of Islam, the extremist group which claimed to have kidnapped the 45-year-old reporter, had threatened to kill him if any rescue attempt is made.

On June 24, Johnston appeared in a video, saying he was wearing a bomb-belt that his captors would detonate if there was any attempt to rescue him.

The Army of Islam had demanded the release of prisoners held in Britain and Jordan, has accused Hamas of exerting undue pressure for Johnston’s release in spiralling tensions between the two groups.

Hamas fighters on Tuesday fought gunbattles with Army of Islam militants in the Gaza suburb where Johnston was believed held, Hamas and witnesses said.

The clashes came after members of Hamas’s armed wing set up checkpoints at the entrance to the Sabra neighbourhood, searching vehicles and fanning out around a compound, witnesses said.

The Briton, by far the longest-held Westerner in the radicalised and impoverished Gaza Strip, stepped into the outside world before daybreak clutched by Hamas officials and surrounded by men waving guns in the air.

The eight people held Tuesday in the failed car bombing plot include one doctor from Iraq and two from India. There is a physician from Lebanon and a Jordanian doctor and his medical assistant wife. Another doctor and a medical student are thought to be from the Middle East.
All employees of the United Kingdom’s National Health Service, some worked together as colleagues at hospitals in England and Scotland, and experts and officials say the evidence points to the plot being hatched after they met in Britain, rather than overseas.

“To think that these guys were a sleeper cell and somehow were able to plan this operation from the different places they were, and then orchestrate being hired by the NHS so they could get to the UK, then get jobs in the same area — I think that’s a planning impossibility,” said Bob Ayres, a former U.S. intelligence officer now at London’s Chatham House think tank.

“A much more likely scenario is they were here together, they discovered that they shared some common ideology, and then they decided to act on this while here in the UK,” he said.

THE car-bomb/suicide-terror operations in London and Glasgow should have provided a fresh opportunity for reminding everyone, especially Muslims in Britain, that terrorism in the name of Islam still poses a major threat to public peace and safety. Yet this is not what is happening.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown keeps repeating that the attacks have nothing to do with Islam – but, at the same time, keeps inviting “Muslim community leaders” to Downing Street to discuss how to prevent attacks. If the attacks have nothing to do with Islam, why invite Muslim “leaders” rather than Buddhist monks?

Brown hasn’t deemed fit to tell it like it is: that Muslims in Britain, indeed all over the world, must come out and condemn terrorism in unambiguous terms.

Fatal flaws in our defence against terror

Far from damping this fire down, the Government itself is fanning the flames still further. Because it refuses to acknowledge that this is an Islamic religious war against the West, the political and security establishment is actually trying to use Islamist religious extremism as an antidote to Islamist terrorism without acknowledging the unbroken line between the two.

So it is actually promoting, as role models for impressionable young Muslims seeking a purpose to their lives, Islamists who claim not to support violence – even though they spout hatred of the West, Americans and Jews.

Ludicrously, it has even recruited Islamist radicals into government – to act as advisors against Islamic radicalism.

This lethal misjudgment has had disastrous results. Extremism has multiplied. The police themselves have been compromised. As the former radical Ed Husain has written, Islamists who work closely with the police to “represent Muslims” have been tipping off jihadists about police activities.

And the Government’s refusal to outlaw Hizb ut Tahrir, on the spurious grounds that although it promotes the Islamic takeover of Britain it is not committed to violence, has meant that this group continues to recruit thousands of students on campus to the cause of jihad against the West.

This is madness. The result is that, while most British Muslims say they would have no truck with terrorism or violence, an insupportable number of them do endorse appalling ideas.

The most fundamental failing of all, however, is the Government’s counter-terrorist strategy itself. Known as Project Contest, this refuses to acknowledge that the true driver of Islamist terror is religious fanaticism.

Instead, it attributes its causes to Muslim poverty, discrimination and grievances over foreign policy. In other words, it blames us.

The analysis is demonstrably absurd. Many of these terrorists are prosperous, middle class and well-educated. Indeed, two of the suspects who have been arrested are doctors. Muslims are being murdered in vast numbers in Iraq not by us, but by other Muslims.

And as Mr Brown said yesterday, the first attempt to blow up the Twin Towers occurred as long ago as 1993; Islamist terrorism is taking place all over the world and in countries where there is no connection with Iraq or the Middle East at all.

The fact is that the Islamists have always used any and every grievance – Bosnia, Kashmir, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Palestine, Salman Rushdie (twice) – to recruit to their cause.

But the real source of this terror, as former extremists have told us, is the aim to conquer the West and Islamise the world.

Without doubt, they are currently using the Iraq war to whip up further hysteria and gain more recruits. The dreadful thing is that they are being aided by self-loathing British ideologues.

For every time someone blames the West for Iraq, yet more overwrought and culturally stranded British Muslim boys are recruited to mass murder by this echo chamber for Muslim rage.

Talk to 21-year-old Iman Eid and you realise that racism, like a grass fire, flares in certain climates.

September 11, the Bali bombing, the Tampa affair and the gang rapes in Sydney all signalled an increase in racial vilification, Ms Eid and her friends believe. “There was definitely more racism around after these events,” she said.

She feels more comfortable wearing the scarf in some places than in others. At her job at a supermarket, she feels the weight of shoppers’ gazes resting more heavily on her than other workers, but at the University of NSW, where she is studying a Bachelor of Arts, she “feels more respect”.

Ms Eid’s experiences are similar to the two-thirds of Muslim and Arab Australians who say they have experienced racism or racial vilification since the September 11 attacks, according to a report launched by the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission yesterday.

Women were more likely to suffer racism, with 90 per cent of female respondents experiencing racial abuse or violence since September 11.

More than half who had experienced racism in public said it was inspired by the wearing of their hijab, while 43 per cent experienced racism in shopping malls and the same number experienced racism on public transport or while driving.

Gordon Brown: Don’t Say Terrorists Are Muslims

If you were hoping that British elites might be shocked into a state of awareness by the Islamic terror attacks, you’re going to be sorely disappointed.

Because new prime minister Gordon Brown thinks the best way to approach the subject is to crack down on free speech and refuse to acknowledge reality: Brown: Don’t say terrorists are Muslims.

Gordon Brown has banned ministers from using the word “Muslim” in connection with the terrorism crisis.

The Prime Minister has also instructed his team – including new Home Secretary Jacqui Smith – that the phrase “war on terror” is to be dropped.

The shake-up is part of a fresh attempt to improve community relations and avoid offending Muslims, adopting a more “consensual” tone than existed under Tony Blair. …

* Sounds more like lunatics running the asylum…

Can you see Winston Churchill passing the same rules in 1939. “Do not call Nazi’s Germans. Not all Germans are Nazi’s, but all Nazi’s were Germans. But I repeat AGAIN do not call Nazi’s Germans.”

We will see more of this in the future. When there is a problem the government will change the names, change the rules, and redefine the laws to make the problem go away. But it won’t go away.

Mr Brown’s spokesman acknowledged yesterday that ministers had been given specific guidelines to avoid inflammatory language. “There is clearly a need to strike a consensual tone in relation to all communities across the UK,” the spokesman said. “It is important that the country remains united.”

Ms Smith also avoided any such reference in her statement to MPs yesterday.

She said: “Let us be clear – terrorists are criminals, whose victims come from all walks of life, communities and religions. Terrorists attack the values shared by all law-abiding citizens. As a Government, as communities, as individuals, we need to ensure that the message of the terrorists is rejected.”

* Not clear at all: You are aiding and abetting and obfuscating the issues. Perhaps not every Muslim is a terrorist, but just about every terrorist today is motivated by Islam in the name of Jihad.

Tory backbencher Philip Davies said: “I don’t know what purpose is served by this. I don’t think we need pussyfoot around when talking about terrorism.”

But former Tory homeland security spokesman Patrick Mercer said: “This is quite a smart idea. We know that the vast majority of Muslims are not involved in terrorism and we have to accept there are sensitivities about these matters.”

Beyond Parody:

In Glasgow, police carried out controlled explosions on a car outside a mosque in the city at about 5am today. The car, which has now been removed for forensic analysis, was linked to the Glasgow airport attack.

Officers had waited for prayers at the mosque, which is not linked to the inquiry, to finish before looking at the car. The bomb squad was called in as a precaution and police had no information that a device was inside.

Police suspect that the leader of the terror cell is one of the five doctors held in the UK who were working or training for the NHS, Mohammed Asha, a 26-year-old neurosurgeon who lives in Staffordshire. Dr Asha and his 27-year-old wife were arrested on Saturday driving on the M6 near Sandbach in Cheshire.

A MAN arrested at Brisbane’s international airport overnight over the UK terror plots was a registrar at the Gold Coast Hospital in Southport.

Attorney-General Philip Ruddock said the 27-year-old man was arrested at Brisbane International airport yesterday. He did not have a return ticket.

The man, who Queensland Premier Peter Beattie said was not Australian-born, was arrested at the airport at 11pm (AEST) by a counter-terrorism team comprising Queensland police and Australian Federal Police officers after advice from UK authorities.

Mr Beattie said he understood the man had been attempting to leave Australia.

Brisbane Airport has confirmed that only one flight was delayed last night, a flight to Kuala Lumpur.

An Iraqi junior doctor and a brilliant neurologist working for the NHS are among the suspects being quizzed over the series of bomb attacks across Britain, it emerged today.

The news came as it emerged that an eighth person has been arrested in the terror enquiry.

Details of the suspects were revealed as police staged a controlled explosion at a hospital near Glasgow today.

The junior doctor has been named as Bilal Abdulla, who is said to have completed his medical training in Baghdad.

The suspected ringleader of the Al Qaeda car bombers is a brilliant neurologist working for the NHS.

Saudi Mohammed Asha, 26, was arrested with his 27-year-old wife, who was in traditional Muslim dress, on the M6 in Cheshire on Saturday night.

‘Asian Men’ Impostors posing as hospital inspectors

WASHINGTON – Federal authorities are looking into three closely bunched incidents in which people posing as inspectors were caught nosing around hospitals in Boston, Detroit and Los Angeles.

“We do not possess any specific intelligence that there is a terrorism nexus to these reports,” Homeland Security spokeswoman Kathleen Montgomery said Friday.

Sheik Bilal yesterday said claims revealed in The Australian that the Wahabi clerics were potentially radicalising up to 3000 Sydney youths were “preposterous”. He said while he was not a part of Sheik Omran and Sheik Zoud’s fundamentalist Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jammah association, he rejected claims the pair were radical.

“These are people who follow the Koran and Sunnah – they follow the teachings of Islam,” Sheik Bilal told the newspaper.

 UK’s ‘deep concern’ over Rushdie

The UK’s envoy to Pakistan has expressed “deep concern” over comments by a Pakistani minister about Sir Salman Rushdie’s knighthood.
Religious Affairs Minister Mohammad Ejaz ul-Haq’s comments were widely seen as justifying suicide attacks because Sir Salman had insulted Islam.

But High Commissioner Robert Brinkley said it was untrue that the knighthood was intended to insult Islam.

Sir Salman’s book The Satanic Verses sparked worldwide protests in 1989.

‘Blasphemous book’

Mr Brinkley was summoned to the Pakistani foreign ministry in Islamabad on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesman for Mr Brinkley said he “made clear the British government’s deep concern at what the minister for religious affairs was reported to have said”.

Iranian conservatives on Tuesday criticised Britain’s Queen Elizabeth over the decision to confer the knighthood on Mr Rushdie.

“Salman Rushdie has turned into a hated corpse which cannot be resurrected by any action,” First Deputy Speaker Mohammad Reza Bahonar told Iran’s parliament.

“The action by the British Queen in knighting Salman Rushdie, the apostate, is an unwise one,” he said to loud applause from MPs.

Five Jihad Doctors!

The total number of doctors involved in the UK/Scotland terror attacks is now FIVE.

Five doctors are now being held in connection with the recent attempted terror attacks – one is an Iraqi doctor who trained in Baghdad.

Sky sources named him as Iraqi Bilal Abdulla – he was left relatively unscathed in an attack on Glasgow airport, in which two men drove a flaming jeep into the airport terminal.

Two doctors were arrested in Paisley, Glasgow, another in Liverpool and one on the M6 on Saturday night.

Abdulla was pictured being led away from the explosion by police and worked at the Royal Alexandra Hospital near Glasgow. The other man detained at Glasgow airport had severe burns and remains in a critical condition at the Royal Alexandra.

Magistrate walks out over Muslim woman’s veil

You got to read this to believe it.

Here we have a criminal Muslimah, charged with criminal damage, but that is all we get to know. The whole thing is twisted against a magistrate who refused to deal with her because she was wearing a ghost costume in court.

A magistrate is facing an inquiry after refusing to deal with a defendant wearing a full Muslim veil, the Judiciary of England and Wales said yesterday.

Ian Murray walked out of the case at Manchester magistrates’ court yesterday because Zoobia Hussain, 32, of Crumpsall, Manchester, was covered by a hijab.

Hussain’s lawyer, Judith Hawkins, said her client was “shocked and distressed” and found Mr Murray’s treatment of her “insensitive and unacceptable”.

Miss Hawkins said she would submit a formal written complaint to the court on Monday. When the complaint is received, the judiciary will launch an internal investigation into Mr Murray’s behaviour, a spokesman said.

Miss Hawkins said yesterday: “She [Hussain] remains shocked and distressed. She suffered hurt feelings and felt intimidated and deeply embarrassed by the treatment she received at court.

“She is also concerned for the feelings of others who were present in court.

“She feels that the court’s treatment of her was insensitive, unacceptable and against the traditions of fairness and equality that we have come to expect from our system of justice.

Hussain, who is charged with criminal damage, covered her entire face apart from her eyes when she faced the three magistrates.

Before he walked out, Miss Hawkins told the bench that her client, as a practising Muslim, covered herself in public places where men were present.

A statement from the Judiciary of England and Wales said: “Mr Murray is concerned about questions of identity when the full veil is worn in court.

A spokesman for the Ramadhan Foundation said: “It is despicable that the judiciary is ignoring the guidelines about the wearing of the hijab set out only in February by the Judicial Studies Board.

“They require that magistrates and judges be ‘sensitive’ to a woman’s religious requirement to wear the hijab and work around it when possible.”

Hussain’s case was adjourned until July 18.

Muslim woman barred from Georgia courtroom for wearing scarf

VALDOSTA — A Muslim woman seeking to contest a simple speeding ticket in this south Georgia city says she was denied access to a municipal courtroom last week for wearing a traditional Islamic head scarf.

Aniisa Karim, 20, said she was stopped after entering Valdosta’s municipal court building Tuesday and told she would not be permitted to enter the courtroom wearing her scarf.

“I said, ‘No, I’m Muslim … I wear this for religious reasons and if you don’t allow me in the courtroom with my scarf on basically you are violating my civil rights and my right to a free religion,’ ” Karim told the Valdosta Daily Times.

Karim said an officer told her the denial was due to “homeland security reasons” and that allowing her to enter would show disrespect to Judge Vernita Lee Bender.

She said she offered to walk through a metal detector and allow officers to use a handheld metal detector to scan the scarf.

A national Islamic civil rights group has taken up the case. In a letter to Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker, the Council on American-Islamic Relations asks Baker to “take appropriate action to ensure that the legal, religious and civil rights of Georgians of all faiths be maintained.”

Baker’s office and the Valdosta municipal court were unable to be reached by The Associated Press for comment on Sunday.

Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Washington D.C.-based group, said neither Baker’s office nor the Valdosta city attorney had responded to his group as of Sunday afternoon.

The letter from CAIR argues that barring Karim from the courtroom violated Georgia’s code of conduct for judges and the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which guarantees access to public facilities based on religious beliefs or practices.

Meanwhile, Karim said she decided to not challenge the speeding ticket and pay a $168 fine since that didn’t require her to enter the courtroom.

“I feel like in the year 2007 things like this should not happen any more,” Karim said. “Of course everyone doesn’t know everything about different religions, but if I tell you, ‘I’m Muslim this is a part of my religion,’ I feel like if you are a public officer you should be educated enough to know.”

Up to 3,000 in “ideological sleeper cells” in Sydney alone

CANBERRA (Reuters) – Australia has a bigger portion of Muslim youths at risk of turning to radical Islam than any other Western nation, with up to 3,000 in “ideological sleeper cells” in Sydney alone, a government-backed study said on Monday.

Between 2,000 and 3,000 youths, or about 1 percent of Sydney’s 200,000-strong Muslim population, had already been targeted by radical Islamic teachers, with some at risk of making the jump to militancy, the research said.

“The radical teaching base here is relatively stronger than you might expect it to be in the UK, the Middle East or the U.S.,” study author Mustapha Kara-Ali told Reuters.

“The youth community here is vulnerable and could be acted upon for recruitment and further radicalization.”

Australia has around 340,000 Muslims, or around 1.6 percent of the 21 million population.

But the percentage of radicalized Muslim youths was bigger than the United States or the UK, where the ideological pool was of similar size, but off a 1.6 million base, Kara-Ali said.

Kara-Ali, a member of Prime Minister John Howard’s Muslim advisory board, said it was far harder for radicals to spread an extremist message in other countries, where moderate groups were well placed to resist their message.

“The Muslim community is relatively new in Australia. Given that, there isn’t an established moderate Islamic order with deep roots in the community and the extremists are exploiting this,” he said.

Australia, a close U.S. ally, has never experienced a militant attack on home soil, although more than 20 people have been arrested and accused of terrorism-related offences.

IT is impossible to know how many Muslim extremists are in Australia, Australian Federal Police Commissioner Mick Keelty says.

* Well, there are 350 000 Muslims in Australia. Would you say that at least half of them believes in Muhammad and the Koran and that the world must be islamic, or are you afraid to ask, Mr. Keelty?

“We need to be engaged, we need to work with people, we are a community that has evidenced over a long period of time that we can bond people together from many different backgrounds, many different cultures, many different religions,” he said.

That worked well in most instances, he said.

“What we are dealing with are minorities, sometimes marginalised even within their own population,” he said.

“It would be naive to believe that Australia is not impacted by a small group of people who may have some evil intent but we know of no particular planning of which we can point to which suggests that our threat levels should be changed.”

Over 400 Radical, Anti-US Islamic Centers Exposed

There are between 400 and 500 radical Islamic mosques in the United States, a private undercover organization has just disclosed.

David Gaubatz, the director of counterintelligence and counterterrorism for the Society of Americans for National Existence (SANE) told Insight Magazine, “Our initial investigation has concluded there are between 400 to 500 radical Islamic centers in the U.S.

This Islamic center in Falls Church, Virginia, a suburb outside of Washington D.C., has been identified as an extremist anti-US mosque.

In those places, they preach an extreme version of Islam that says America and the West is the enemy. They espouse violence, hatred and the need for terrorism.”

A former senior U.S. intelligence official, Gaubatz now works for the national non-profit group Mapping Sharia, which is devoted to investigating the 2,300 Islamic centers in the U.S. for Muslim extremist activity and supported by SANE.

The suspected ringleader of the Al Qaeda car bombers is a brilliant neurologist working for the NHS, it was revealed today.

Saudi Mohammed Asha, 26, was arrested with his 27-year-old wife, who was in traditional Muslim dress, on the M6 in Cheshire on Saturday night.

The development comes as a section of the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley was cordoned off while a bomb disposal squad was called in.

Dr Asha came top of his class at the University of Jordan in 2004 with an “excellent score” and has been practising in Britain since 2005.

Police hunting for the terror cell behind the failed London and Glasgow bombings are searching his detached home in cul-de-sac Sunningdale Grove in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire.

Neighbours said they believed Dr Asha and his wife have one young child. The General Medical Council said Dr Asha holds a provisional registration which enabled him to work in the NHS under supervision.

On some subconscious level it is necessary for the people of the Third World — as were the “masses” in history — to be understood as something less than the human in order to make their manipulation from the Commanding Heights more palatable; and yes, “noble”.

Imam Abdul Ghafoor, one of the spiritual leaders at Glasgow Central Mosque, said he had already heard reports from Asian shopkeepers of verbal abuse and racist graffiti appearing in response to the attempted car bombings.

Mr Saeed, who was at Glasgow Airport with his two young children picking up relatives shortly before the attack, stressed that Muslims were at risk from terrorist attacks along with other Scots. “The terrorists do not care who they kill. We are seething with anger about this,” he said.

WHERE are the marches and demonstrations, the passionate speeches and angry slogans?
Where are the protesters shouting “not in my name”?

Usually so quick to take to the streets at any perceived slight against their religion, all too many Muslims in Britain seem indifferent to attempted mass slaughter being carried out in the name of Islam.

When an obscure Danish newspaper published a satirical cartoon of the prophet Mohammed last year, there were such huge Muslim rallies that central London was brought to a halt on three successive weekends.

Yet the serious terrorist incidents of recent days have incurred no such heated response. In some cases, there was an outright attempt to deny Muslim responsibility. The deputy general secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain, Daud Abdullah, came out with this preposterous statement after the London bombings had been foiled: “Let’s not create a hypothetical problem. It can be the work of Muslims, Christians, Jews or Buddhists.”

We will not win with yet more appeasement of Islam

To make such an assertion after the record of Islamic terrorist barbarity across the globe over the past decade is an insult to our intelligence. Elsewhere, half-hearted words of condemnation were mixed with the inevitable self- justifying blather about Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan.

This points to a worrying state of denial within the Muslim community in Britain. Too often, there is a shameful unwillingness to face up to the reality of murderous Islamism, which uses the Koran as a blueprint for terrorism. As the former radical Hassan Butt, who has now renounced jihadism, puts it: “Most Islamic institutions in Britain just don’t want to talk about theology. They refuse to broach the difficult topic of violence within Islam.”

Even when Muslims admit to the link between their religion and political violence, they slide into the pose of victimhood, pretending that the actions of the terrorists are only a response to poverty or US imperialism.

What is just as sickening is that some of our key political leaders, who should be protecting our society, collude with this grotesque narrative of denial and blame-passing. So in Scotland, shortly after the assault on Glasgow airport, the new First Minister Alex Salmond claimed that “individuals, not communities” were responsible for terrorism, a piece of nonsense given that it is the Muslim community that has bred the terrorists.

In London, Mayor Ken Livingstone was even more reprehensible. He dismissed the idea of any connection between Islam and terrorism, claiming that: “Muslims are less likely to support the use of violence to achieve political ends than non-Muslims.” Yeah, right, tell that to the relatives of those killed in the July bombings, or the Twin Towers, or the Bali attacks or the Madrid massacre. Or tell it to your own Metropolitan Police, which says there are at least 2,000 Muslims in Britain linked directly to Al Qaeda. Then Livingstone sought to excuse the bombers by referring to the war in Iraq and to levels of unemployment among young Muslims, both of which had left them alienated from our society.

This is a seriously warped analysis. Hardline Islamists are alienated from the British mainstream because of their own sick, divisive ideology. They are the ones who constantly seek separation, demand special treatment and hold our democratic civilisation in contempt.

Their so-called “disenfranchisement” is entirely of their own making. Violent jihadism was occurring long before Britain and America toppled Saddam Hussein. The continual wailing about Iraq also points to the dubious loyalty of too many British Muslims, who seem to have more sympathy with a cruel dictatorship than with their own nation. Let us remember that, despite the abuse heaped on Bush and Blair, almost all the carnage in Iraq has been caused by Muslims killing fellow Muslims.

They have a nerve complaining about their lot, when it is their co-religionists who have built a climate of fear in our society, murdered scores of innocent British civilians and brought chaos to our transport network. Rather than moaning, Muslims should take res pon sibility for reforming their own religion. For there is something rotten with the state of Islam in modern Britain.

We can see that not just in the propensity of radicals to resort to mass murder but also in the repression of women, the spate of “honour” killings, the shrill demands for the imposition of separatist sharia law, the refusal to integrate and the eagerness to cling to alien customs, such as the wearing of full Islamic dress.

All Western countries have had some problems with Muslim communities. But it is telling that in the US, where there is a far stronger sense of national identity, Muslims are much more integrated.

In contrast, the British official state creed of multiculturalism has encouraged victimhood and alienation, through the provision of separate housing, faith schools, language translation, support for mosques, grants to ethnic groups and the abandonment of border controls.

Home-grown terrorism is the price we are paying. And we will not win with yet more appeasement of Islam. Muslims’ grievances are nothing more than the expression of regret that they do not control our society. We have to fight back, and that means abandoning multi-culturalism, cracking down on immigration and re-establishing a sense of national identity. Those Muslims who are really opposed to terrorism will join in this struggle, not sit sullenly on the sidelines.
