This, of course, is only to be expected and part of the pattern. After all, if the U.S. War College hires professors who apologize for the terrorist organization Hamas and intentionally shelter students from Islamist doctrines of violence, what can one expect from DoD advisers?

As we try to understand where the Obama administration will fall with regards to the global threat of political Islam, the first few months have provided a number of hints, not least of which was the tenor of the recent visit to Turkey. It was painfully obvious after witnessing the length to which the Obama team went to avoid any substantive discussion on political Islam and the threat it poses to human rightsabroad and domestically. Domestically, in the weeks preceding his trip, Islamists inside the Beltway began to more openly play their cards to what they obviously perceive to be a friendly administration. Groups like the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association (CMSA) are trying to establish themselves in a position of influence inside the White House, the House, and the Senate.

Fethullah Gulen: Infiltrating the U.S. Through Our Charter Schools?

* You gotta watch this: a video from Joels Trumpet at the end of this page, a speech by Sheikh Maulana Nazim Kibrisi, the leader of the Nashqbandi Sufi Muslims, known for their claims to moderacy. It was filmed in 1993 in Berlin, Germany. What is so interesting is that it was attended by the then sitting President of Turkey Erbakan as well as the present Prime Minister Erdogan. At least 50,000 Turks and Muslims were present for the rally. These Islamists made their intentions clear; they demand the subjugation of the West. The  Islamic conquest of Europe is a done deal for these headbangers.

For some time we have been researching a Turkish-based Islamist movement that has a significant network here in the United States. Given Turkey’s history of secular, democratic government, and some of the remarks made by President Obama in his recent speech there, many of our members and other readers will likely be surprised by what we have found. I suspect that even many who are well-read on the issue of Islamism are unfamiliar with the Fethullah Gulen Community (FGC), a movement a February 2009 article in the respected Jane’s Islamic Affairs Analyst labeled “Turkey’s third power.” Indeed, the article noted in its Key Points: “Turkey’s Islamist Gulen movement, while a powerful political force, is largely an unfamiliar entity to the West.”

One of the UK’s most influential Islamic leaders, who has helped counter extremism in the country’s mosques, is accused of advocating attacks on the Royal Navy if it tries to stop arms for Hamas being smuggled into Gaza.

Oops. “£90m anti-terrorism project is fanning the flames of extremism,” by Duncan Gardham in the Telegraph, March 9 (thanks to JW):

A new generation of Muslims is being radicalised using the very Government funds that are supposed to be fighting the problem, a new report by the Policy Exchange think-tank says.An obsession with talking to extremists means that moderates are being ignored, leaving the stage clear for radicalisation, according to the report.

Did they say which moderates were being ignored? This is an important question, because obviously the UK government didn’t set out to fund “extremists.” The people they were giving money to presented themselves as “moderates,” and were taken as such. But when “moderate” leaders call for jihad warfare against the British Navy, the situation can become a bit confused.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A nuclear space power institute at the University of Florida has been raided by the FBI.       

Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney Karen Rhew in Tallahassee said search warrants were served at the university’s Innovative Nuclear Space Power and Propulsion Institute. 

Rhew would not comment on the target of the investigation, but University of Florida spokesman Steve Orlando said the FBI was in the office of professor Samim Anghaie, the Iranian-born director of the institute.

Abdurahman Alamoudi, President of the American Muslim Council, supporter of Hamas, Hezbollah and accused of ties with Osama bin Laden, helped develop “Religious Expression in Public School” which was launched by Clinton in 1995. These “Presidential Guidelines” greatly impact public schools today. Nadine Strossen, President of the ACLU, refers to these guidelines as the authority to support the ACLU’s lawsuits restricting Christmas celebrations and removing Nativity scenes from public schools. Meanwhile all practices of Islam are encouraged.

School districts are pressured to utilize these dubious guidelines, which Clinton sold to America as “issued by 35 religious groups,” including the American Muslim Council/Alamoudi/suspected terrorist.

U.S. War College member insists Islam does not “promote kidnappings, beheadings and other unlicensed hostile actions”

After posting a report regarding the U.S. Army War College’s failure to examine Islam’s war doctrines, including a faculty member’s (Sherifa Zuhur’s) assertions that Hamas has been “villainized” by the media, I received several e-mails from concerned people questioning Ms. Zuhur’s “credentials” — some alluded to her sincerity and intentions, or lack thereof — to teach at the War College. One e-mail sent the following, rather telling, response made by Zuhur, after being asked to, “Tell us about your recent monographs on Islamic Rulings on Warfare and on Saudi Arabia”:

I wrote Islamic Rulings on Warfare with my co-author Youssef Aboul-Enein to counteract the idea that Islam promotes kidnappings, beheadings and other unlicensed hostile actions as a matter of course.

Educators signed a petition praising William Ayers as an education reformer whose ties to the domestic terrorist group Weather Underground are just “history.” 

* Bill Ayers’ Terrorist Group Discussed Genocide of Americans

More than 3,200 supporters — most of them educators — have signed a petition protesting what they say is the “demonization of Professor William Ayers,” asserting that his violent actions as the co-founder of the Weather Underground were just “history.” 

Barack Obama’s ties to Ayers have been questioned during the presidential campaign by critics who call the professor a “domestic terrorist.”

Among the people who signed the petition are No. 5, Columbia University professor of Arab studies Rashid Khalidi, and No. 814, former University of Colorado at Boulder professor Ward Churchill.
