Turkish Police foil attack on church; EU will lose Turkey if it hasn’t joined by 2023: Erdogan

Good on them if they did. But did they really?

Turkish police have arrested 13 suspects accused of plotting an attack against members of a Protestant church and their pastor in a northwestern city, a local official said on Friday.

“The suspects who were arrested by the counter-terrorism units on Tuesday are accused of plotting an attack on the members of the Christian community and their leader” in the city of Izmit, the official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Very well. Now comes a whopper:

Several attacks in recent years have targeted members of the Christian community in predominantly Muslim but staunchly secular Turkey. (Thanks to the ROP)

I get it. They are “secular” like the Muslim Brotherhood. Good grief!

Caliph Erdogan: EU will lose (something) if it doesn’t cave in to Turkish demands:

Yet another visit to Germany by this insolent, venomous Islamofascist?

This time he demands ‘more integration’-(which means he wants to see Turks lording over Germans, which, by the law of allah,  is their rightful place) Not long ago he declared assimilation a ‘crime against humanity’.

Needless to mention that Erdogan also demands that Germany offer asylum to about 100.000 Syrian ‘refugees’ who are presently hauled up in Turkey.

As far as I’m concerned we lost Turkey back in 1453 with the fall of Constantinople. If the Turks  declare political and economic bankruptcy and hand it back we shall help them resettle in minor Asia. Other than that we cannot ‘lose Turkey’ because we never had it since then.

EU will lose Turkey if it hasn’t joined by 2023: Erdogan

(Reuters) – The European Union will lose Turkey if it doesn’t grant it membership by 2023, Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday.

It was the first time Erdogan has given an indication of how long Ankara might continue down the path towards EU entry, and his comments came at a time of growing alienation between Turkey and a political entity it feels has cold-shouldered it.

Are We Tolerant of Treason & Genocide?

Update:

Lets give Erdogan a price for tolerating us!

Germany: Irony-impaired group set to award Turkish PM “tolerance” prize

Erdogan’s behavior toward Germany alone should disqualify him for that. As this report observes, he has “irked Berlin with his calls to Germany’s large ethnic Turkish community not to assimilate.” There is also the ongoing denial of the Armenian genocide, and the erosion of secular institutions in Turkey, among other things.  (A price for intolerance-JW)

Maybe it’s a prize for one-way “tolerance.” That, he would deserve. “Turkish PM cancels German trip, protests go ahead,” from Reuters, March 17:

Beats me why the Germans put up with this, why they even allow him back into the country. Smells like deep rooted dhimmitude:

Turks in Germany: The Guests Take Over the House

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was in Germany on November 1 and 2 to mark the 50th anniversary of a German-Turkish agreement on guest workers.

Erdogan turned what was supposed to be a friendly photo opportunity into a platform from which to launch a fresh tirade against Berlin for a long list of perceived slights and shortcomings in its treatment of the estimated 3.5 million Turkish immigrants who now live in Germany.

Erdogan said Germany’s insistence that immigrants who want to live in Germany must learn the German language is “against human rights.” He also demanded that Berlin grant German citizenship to Turkish immigrants regardless of the efforts they make to integrate into German society.

For good measure, Erdogan accused Germany of being “an accessory” to the terror campaign launched by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Turkey. He also blamed Germany for derailing Turkey’s decades-long bid to join the European Union.

Adding to the controversy, a group of German scientists, politicians and human rights activists greeted Erdogan’s visit to Germany by filing a war crimes complaint against the Turkish prime minister and nine other senior Turkish political and military officials.

More here.

 Erdogan reinstates the jiziya:

Turkey: Non-Muslims protest special tax from which Muslims are exempt

“Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” — Qur’an 9:29

Under heavy pressure from the European powers, the Ottoman Empire abolished the payment of the jizya, which is the cornerstone of the system of dhimmitude, in the 1850s. But even the secular Turkish state found a way to reestablish it under another name. As the Islamization of Turkey continues to advance, eventually this pretense will no longer be needed.

Wilders Website Hacked

“Islamic monkey”.

Wilders’ website hacked

Friday 23 September 2011

Anti-Islam PVV party leader Geert Wilders said on Friday that his website has been hacked. The hacker called himself a ‘Turkish Muslim Hacker’ and left a photo of Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and a verse from the Koran on the site.

The hacking follows a clash between Wilders and Dutch prime minister Mark Rutte on Thursday which focused on the PVV attitude to Erdogan.

The page has now been taken off-line and it is not known what action Wilders will take.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte has crossed swords in parliament with populist Freedom Party (PVV) leader Geert Wilders. The PVV has an agreement to support the minority centre-right government from parliament on most issues.

At one point, the two men shouted at each other to “behave normally”. The exchange followed the prime minister objecting to an earlier statement by a PVV MP, calling Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan an “Islamic monkey”.

Mr Rutte also warned the PVV leader against overemphasising the problem of criminality amongst Dutch-Moroccan youths. He told Mr Wilders that this could lead to the alienation of law-abiding and highly qualified members of the Dutch-Moroccan community. Mr Wilders countered that such people should take the criminal members of their community in hand.

The prime minister also made it clear that the government is against holding a referendum on banning the construction of new minarets on mosques in the Netherlands. On Wednesday, the PVV put forward holding such a referendum.

Now Erdogan wants an apology from… Armenia?

Erdogan’s allures, his insolence and his megalomania become harder to bear by the day.

Israel Matzav

If the World is willing to tolerate the lies and innuendo of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan regarding Israel, will they also tolerate it regarding Armenia? Erdogan, whose country committed genocide against the Armenians 90-100 years ago, murdering a million and a half of them in the process, is now demanding that Armenia apologize to Turkey!

Erdogan Threatens to Attack Israel

Encouraged by the inept Manchurian moonbat, no doubt, the malevolent wannabe  caliph lets it all hang out:

In Lebanon on Thursday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan threatened that his country would not ‘remain silent‘ in the event that Israel goes to war with Lebanon or Hamas.

Israel Matzav

“Does (Israel) think it can enter Lebanon with the most modern aircraft and tanks to kill women and children, and destroy schools and hospitals, and then expect us to remain silent?” Erdogan asked on the final day of a two-day visit to Lebanon.

Merkel, don't go to Cyprus!

The Local

Merkel promises GermanTurkey help in Cyprus impasse

Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday she would visit Cyprus in January to offer Germany’s help in resolving an impasse holding up security cooperation and Turkey joining the European Union.

“This will be an opportunity for me to see if Germany can play a helpful role in resolving the difficulties that there are,” Merkel said after talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Berlin.

Erdogan said progress towards Turkey joining the EU “should not slow down,” and that he had asked Merkel for Germany’s support. Merkel reiterated her position that the process had an “open end.”

Indeed. The jihad is open ended. It  will continue long after Merkel is gone.

Time to Dump Turkey

Andrew Bolt

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk forced modern Turkey to be secular and West-looking. His heirs even make Turkey an Israeli ally and NATO partner, but how dangerously it’s now sliding into another radical Islamic state:

TURKEY’S Prime Minister says he doesn’t view radical Palestinian group Hamas, Israel’s arch-foe, as a terrorist organisation.

“Our problem is not with the Israeli or the Jewish people. Our problem is with the oppressive Israeli administration which commits state terror,” he said.

The new Caliph?  Turkish PM Erdogan a hero with Islamists!

“Hamas are resistance fighters who are struggling to defend their land. They have won an election,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday in a speech broadcast live on television.

“I have told this to US officials… I do not accept Hamas as a terrorist organisation…”

The United States and the European Union blacklist Hamas as a terrorist group despite its victory in Palestinian elections in 2006.

Mr Erdogan made the remarks in an angry tirade against Israel after Monday’s raid on a flotilla carrying aid to the Gaza Strip, which claimed the lives of nine Turks …

The Wall Street Journal wonders how much the Turkish Government was behind an Islamist plot to make a pariah of Israel:

So the Prime Minister of Turkey calls Israel “a festering boil in the Middle East that spreads hate and enmity,” while his foreign minister compares Monday’s Israeli naval raid on a flotilla of ships headed for the Gaza Strip, in which nine passengers were killed, to the attacks of September 11, 2001…

A child points his finger and shouts religious slogans during the funeral of a victim of the Israeli naval commandos raid at the Beyazit mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, Friday, June 4, 2010.

Yet the more facts that come to light about the flotilla, its passengers and their sponsors, the more it seems clear that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Ergodan’s government, far more so than Israel’s, must be held to account for Monday’s violent episode… The Turkish accounting should begin with a full explanation from the government of its relationship with the IHH, an Istanbul-based Islamic “charity” that purchased three of the six boats used in the flotilla from the city government, sent hundreds of its activists along with it, and reportedly has ties to Turkey’s ruling Islamist AKP Party.

That attitude conforms with the general pattern of Mr. Erdogan’s foreign policy. For all his denunciations of Israel’s alleged brutality in Monday’s raid, he was among the first foreign leaders to congratulate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his “victory” in last year’s presidential election.

Links:

The IHH—the Turkish acronym for the “Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief”—has widely reported links to Hamas, the terrorist group that runs Gaza and most directly threatens Israel. Moreover, in the 2001 Seattle trial of Ahmed Ressam, the would-be Millennium bomber, French counterterrorism magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguiere testified that the IHH had played an “important role” in Ressam’s plot to bomb LAX airport on New Year’s Day, 2000, and that there was “a rather close relation” between the bomber and the Turkish group…

Yet knowing all this, the Turkish government made no effort to prevent the flotilla from setting sail. The government also seems unembarrassed that the IHH belongs to a Saudi-based umbrella group of Islamic charities known as “The Union of the Good,” which the U.S. Treasury designated a terrorist organization in November 2008. On the contrary, Mr. Erdogan has been outspoken in his calls for the world to recognize Hamas, even as his relations with the more moderate Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas have been notably cool.

UPDATE

Charles Krauthammer:

The whole point of this relentless international campaign is to deprive Israel of any legitimate form of self-defense.The world is tired of these troublesome Jews, six million — that number again — hard by the Mediterranean, refusing every invitation to national suicide. For which they are relentlessly demonized, ghettoized and constrained from defending themselves, even as the more committed anti-Zionists — Iranian in particular — openly prepare a more final solution.

UPDATE 2

An interview with the sergeant who killed six of the people on board the Mavi Marmara:

Looking to his side, he saw three of his commanders lying wounded – one with a gunshot wound to the stomach and another with a gunshot wound to the knee. A third was lying unconscious; his skull was fractured by a devastating blow with a metal bar…He pushed the wounded soldiers up against the wall of the upper deck and created a perimeter of soldiers around them to begin treating their wounds, he said. He then arranged his men to form a second perimeter, and pulled out his 9 mm. Glock pistol to stave off the charging attackers and to protect his wounded comrades. The attackers had already seized two pistols from the commandos, and fired repeatedly at them. Facing more than a dozen of the mercenaries, and convinced their lives were in danger, he and his colleagues opened fire, he said. S. singlehandedly killed six men. His colleagues killed another three.

Turkey: Erdogan Purges Military

You know you’re in deep trouble when your best hope for a semi-democratic country is *military coup*.

Erdogan eliminates the opposition:

Turkey arrests 86 military men, including generals, for coup attempt

Turkey’s march toward Sharia and abandonment of Kemalist secularism seems unstoppable. “Turkey: Coup Foiled, Gov’t-Armed Forces War Continues,” from ANSAmed, April 6 (thanks to JW):

(ANSAmed) – ANKARA – The war is continuing with no holds barred between the ruling party – the pro-Islamic Justice and Development Party (AKP) led by Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan – and the armed forces, who on the basis of the Constitution, have always been the protector of the lay status of the country. With an unexpected sudden reversal, the police yesterday arrested 86 servicemen (70 of whom are still in service) believed to have been involved in the alleged coup d’etat that was to have been carried out in 2003 against the AKP party which had just risen to power. The vast operation, as reports the Turkish media, was carried out simultaneously in 90 houses in 14 provinces of Turkey, from Istanbul to Ankara, and came 48 hours after the release of 28 of the approximate 50 servicemen arrested on February 22 as part of the same investigation. There are several generals amongst the 70 servicemen still in service who were arrested.

Other news from the RoP:

Amongst the servicemen who ended up in prison, and who were released in recent days and then immediately put behind bars, is the former general of the army, Cetin Dogan, believed to be the brains behind the coup (called ‘Balyoz’, sledgehammer) reported in January by pro-government daily paper Taraf but which was never set in motion. The charges against them range from attempted massacre to the attempted coup d’etat. The aim of ‘Balyoz’, according to Taraf, was to plunge the country into chaos with acts of violence and terrorism.

Amongst other things, the plan was for the servicemen to blow up mosques in Istanbul during Friday prayers, to attack museums with bombs, to shoot down a Turkish fighter plane and to blame the Greek air force, and to force the executive, by then discredited, to resign. According to press sources, the people arrested yesterday are considered in various ways to have been involved both in the plotting of ‘Balyoz’ and in the wider conspiracy of Ergenekon, an alleged secret nationalist organisation which is said to have attempted to topple Erdogan’s government.

The investigation into Ergenekon began in 2007 after explosives and detonators were found in an apartment in Istanbul which brought about the arrest of some 100 people from ultra-nationalist spheres in various parts of the country. Investigators maintain that that roundup revealed a secret body called ”deep state”, which was a secret pact between politicians, ex-servicemen, secret services and local mafia. All the people accused in the Ergenekon case are facing 30 charges with the three most serious being the organisation of a terrorist group, incitement to revolt and attempting to topple the government. The accused include retired generals but also other high-ranking officers still in service, magistrates, nationalist politicians, far-right sympathisers, people from show business, writers and journalists. However, lay people and nationalists believe that the case against the alleged Ergenekon group is nothing more than an AKP ploy to get rid of its most stubborn opponents. (ANSAmed).
