Sultan Knish: The left has a great deal of respect for mosques, but very little respect for Ground Zero…

Daniel Greenfield clears up some misunderstandings about the mystical  pastor Niemoeller and today’s  Nazis, who are just like the Nazis back then…….

First They Came for the Terrorists

It’s a testament to the intelligence level of liberals that they prefer nursery rhymes to ideas. Whether it’s Auden’s “Those to whom evil is done, Do Evil in Return” (a verse from a Communist poet partially justifying Hitler’s invasion of Poland, that he later disavowed) or “What Would Gandhi Do?” (give up and hope his enemies felt bad while cutting off his head) or the most famous nursery rhyme of them all, “First they came for the Communists.”

This particular nursery rhymes endeavors to explain Nazis from a leftist perspective, in which Hitler’s triumph occurred because no one spoke out when Communists were being imprisoned. When in doubt, the left and various useful idiots routinely trot out revised versions of this nursery rhyme. The current popular formulation on the left is “First they came for the Terrorists.” (The Cato Institute’s attempt to write one called “First they came for the Sex Offenders and then the Terrorists” proved to be wildly unpopular as no one outside the Cato Institute or maybe its liberal counterpart, the ACLU, sympathizes with sex offenders and terrorists at the same time.)

Sultan Knish:   The Muslim Hijacking of Ground Zero

Islam doesn’t just hijack planes, it hijacks the things that mean something to people. The great cities of the world are littered with relics of the Muslim occupation of their sacred places. Jerusalem, Delhi, Constantinople and Alexandria all testify to the Muslim predilection for taking over other people’s sacred places, and turning them into mosques. It wasn’t enough for Muslims to conquer Jerusalem and subjugate its inhabitants. No, they also had to take the holiest place in Judaism and build a mosque on top of it. Similarly it wasn’t enough for them to conquer and rename Constantinople, they also had to turn the Hagia Sophia into a mosque. These are not exceptions to the rule. In Asia, the Middle East and Europe, there are numberless examples of the same thing.

Religion of rocket launchers…..

To this day, Muslims continue seizing other people’s places of worship and turning them into mosques. It’s going on in Egypt today. It’s going on in Yugoslavia where churches are being destroyed and turned into mosques, day by day. It’s went on in Israel, in Joseph’s Tomb, burial spot of the biblical Joseph, which was seized by Muslims in September of 2000, a year before 9/11.

Sultan Knish: Can you speak Islamic?

If language is not correct, then what is said is not what is meant; if what is said is not what is meant, then what must be done remains undone; if this remains undone, morals and art will deteriorate; if justice goes astray, the people will stand about in helpless confusion. Hence there must be no arbitrariness in what is said. This matters above everything.

—Confucius

Great insisight and excellent analysis from Daniel Greenberg, (also known as Sultan Knish) who is right on the money, as usual:  this is about words and phrases that have clear definitions as commonly understood by all literate people. Those same words and phrases, however, mean something entirely different to Muslims. The Gates of Vienna has more>>

“Religion of Peace”

Words are tricky things. Virtually every tyrant, no matter how bloody, has talked about his plans for conquest in terms of “peace”. For example in 1939, Nazi Germany and the USSR signed a declaration in which they described their conquest of Poland as creating “a sure foundation for a lasting peace in Eastern Europe”. The same year that Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, he delivered a speech at the Amman Summit in which he insisted that; “the Arabs seek peace and justice throughout the world”. And how can one argue with peace?

The Romans had the Pax Romana, which meant peace under Roman dominion. The “peace” that Hitler, Stalin and Saddam have in mind, was of that same nature. Dictators and tyrannies, national or ideological, frame the world as chaotic and requiring order. Only under their leadership and only their way will the world finally experience peace.

When Lenin stated that; “without overthrowing capital it is impossible to end the war by a truly democratic peace“, he was laying out the same basic thesis of every tyrant, and of Islam as well. That there can be no “true peace”, without the creation of a society that follows his ideology. For Lenin, everyone had to submit to Communism. For Hitler, to Nazism. For Mohammed, to Islam. Each spoke about peace, but they defined peace only in terms of their own ideology and rule.
When apologists insist that Islam is a religion of peace, they are correct. Insofar as it believes in peace through conquest, and its intended state of peace is to reduce non-Muslims to second class status. But since Islam is global and it recognizes no limit to its borders– its form of “peace” is to engage in constant wars to conquer the territory of non-Muslims and Muslims whose legitimacy they do not recognize in order to achieve “peace”.

The Noose Around Israel's Neck

“The Arab nations should sacrifice up to 10 million of their 50 million people, if necessary, to wipe out Israel … Israel to the Arab world is like a cancer to the human body, and the only way of remedy is to uproot it, just like a cancer.”
–Saud ibn Abdul Aziz, King of Saudi Arabia, Associated Press, Jan. 9, 1954

“We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you.”
—Hussein Massawi, the former Hezbollah leader behind the slaughter of U.S. and French forces …..

What we want, as Arabs, is to *be*. However, we can only be, if *the other* is not’. [Ben Bella, ‘Tous Contre Israel’, PI i.e. International Political Review/ Revue Politique Internationale, 16 (Paris, 1982), p. 108]

“Allah revealed Islam in order that humanity could be governed according to it. Unbelief is darkness and disorder. So the unbelievers, if they are not suppressed, create disorder. That is why the muslims are responsible for the implementation of allah’s Law on the planet, that humanity may be governed by it, as opposed to corrupt man-made laws. The muslims must make all efforts to establish the religion of allah on the earth”
—Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, “Jihad: The Absent Obligation”, p43.

“The battle with Israel must be such that, after it, Israel will cease to exist.”
–Libyan President Mohammar Qadaffi, al-Usbu al-Arrabi (Beirut) quoted by Algiers Radio, Nov. 12, 1973

Israel is being hanged on a public gallows erected on the grounds of the United Nations with yards of rope gleefully supplied by the Muslim world. But the hangmen are mostly Westerners who still think that the Muslim lynch mob at their doorstep can be pacified with the death of a single victim.

There are three things you can do when you are about to be hanged. You can walk proudly, recite a glorious line or two to embed your martyrdom in historical memory, and then allow yourself to be hanged. Jews have an extensive body of experience with that brand of martyrdom.

Alternatively you can plead your case all the way to the gallows, arguing that a mistake has been made, that your case has been improperly reviewed, begging for someone to listen and do something. This way also ends in a hanging. But it’s the hanging of a slave without even a shred of dignity attached to it. A man that dies pleading with his murderers, and puts his fate in the honesty of the liars and hypocrites whose own crimes makes the worst of his look like virtues, is a craven fool.

Analyzing Cartoon o'phobia

Vilks: “I’m ready to go up again. This must be carried through. You cannot allow it to be stopped.”

As a matter of principle, Uppsala University should give him the opportunity to finish his lecture, unedited. Otherwise, it is precisely the case that “what you get is a mob deciding what can be discussed at the university.”

An update on this story. “Muhammad cartoonist defiant after attack,” by Karl Ritter for the Associated Press, May 12/via Jihad Watch>>>

But officials at Uppsala University said they doubted they would invite Lars Vilks again after police used pepper spray and batons to help him escape a furious crowd Tuesday.

Confirmed by Hot Air:

Officials said they would “not likely” invite Vilks again because of the incident. In some quarters, the university’s reponse is adding to concerns that violence and threats from some members of the Muslim community are effectively muzzling free speech.

If you think this couldn’t happen at an American university, bad news: It already has

Here’s Vilk’s interviewed about his many death threats and a burqa clad “Swedish” woman openly calling for his assasination.

Those Damned Pictures and the Freedom to Cartoon

Sultan Knish

On the one hand it’s odd that the debate between Freedom and Islam has become centered over cartoons. The Danish cartoons of Mohammed and South Park’s more recent attempts to depict a cartoon image of Mohammed. Unlike novels, plays and other more high minded stuff, the few scrawled lines of a cartoon seem like an unlikely last stand for free speech in what used to be the free world.

But on the other hand, cartoons are an obvious Fort Apache for free speech because they represent a traditional outpost of parody and satire. Tolerance for the jester and the satirist speaks volumes about the general tolerance for freedom of speech. And so cartoons serve as the canary in the coal mine. When cartoons are being banned, it’s safe to say that the toxic fumes of tyranny are cutting off the breath of freedom on a much larger scale as well.

The Religion of Car Bombings

Look, just because most car bombers are Muslim doesn’t mean that there’s a link between terror and Islam. . . is there?

(Family Security Matters/Daniel Greenfield)

No Contessa, the Times Square car bomber was not a frustrated Tea Party protester or one of those angry right wing extremists everyone in the Obama administration and their media hanger-ons begin warning us about every time the White House encounters some political blowback. No, he is that rarest of creatures, hardly ever seen in the wild anymore – a Muslim terrorist. Continued below the fold

Bulgaria: an example for the rest of us?

Where Islam exists in a nation, it will sooner or later either be suppressed or it will come to dominate. That is a scenario that every nation with a Muslim minority must understand and address, or it will become a Muslim nation with the native population reduced to an oppressed minority or butchered in the night. A totalitarian ideology cannot be made peace with. Either you will defeat it, or it will defeat you.

Sultan Knish

Israel’s Muslim Problem is Not Unique

The visit of Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov to Israel this week is a timely reminder that Israel’s problems with Islam are not unique. Like Israel, Bulgaria was ruled over by the Ottoman Empire, which exported their population to Bulgaria, oppressed the native Bulgarians, seized their lands and attempted to become the dominant majority. And when the Ottoman Empire lost control over Bulgaria, it left behind a huge Muslim population in Bulgaria.

The key difference between Bulgaria and Israel, is that Bulgaria since the 1870’s forced much of its Turkic Muslim population to leave. As a result millions of Turkic Muslims left Bulgaria, leaving it a quieter place than neighboring Yugoslavia or Russia, or for that matter modern day France. Muslim clothing was banned, mosques were torn down and lands held by the Ottoman Muslim settlers were returned to native Bulgarians.
