Onward, Soldiers of Allah!

Refugees from the “Arab Spring” are accumulating across southern Europe, mainly in Italy, but also in Malta and Greece. Most of them attempt to move onward from these locations to more favored destinations. France serves as the Promised Land for the Tunisians, many of whom already have relatives there, or claim to. Other migrants prefer to enrich the cultures of Germany, the Netherlands, Britain, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden — and expect to be enriched in return by some of the most generous welfare systems in the world.

The news story below from Dutch TV describes attempts by migrants to hide in the undercarriages of long-distance trucks hauling freight from Greek ports. By stowing away in this manner, they hope to travel all the way to the Netherlands and other northern European destinations.

Abbas’s words taunted PM Benjamin Netanyahu, as the representative of Israel:

Muslims have a talent for manufacturing history.

It should be noted that Abbas’s taunting Netanyahu about history is a brazen distortion of known facts. Judean/Israeli history in the Land of Israel dates back thousands of years, and is documented by ancient Jewish and non-Jewish sources, and corroborated by numerous archeological finds, from Hebrew coins to Jewish ritual baths. The Kurkh Monolith, for example, an Assyrian document from the reign of King Shalmaneser III (859-824 BCE), includes the words: “King Ahab of Israel sent 2,000 chariots and 10,000 soldiers.”

On the other hand, only recently have Arabs in the region identified as “Palestinians”. No historian other than Palestinians have claimed that there was an ancient Palestinian history, and there isn’t any reference to a Palestinian-Arab nation in antiquity, as Abbas claims. This is true of Islamic sources as well. The Quran refers to the people of Israel and even the destruction of the Temple [Sura17], but not to Palestinians.   (IMRA)

Muslims in Europe have replaced the continent’s Jews of yesteryear as the largest target of discrimination and prejudice, according to a prominent Swiss academic and Islamic expert.

“There are new alliances in Europe against the Muslim presence, and people who were against Judaism are now against the Muslim presence in Europe,” Tariq Ramadan, an Oxford professor and grandson of Hasan al-Banna, the founder of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, said Friday at a seminar at Istanbul Bilgi University. Suicide bombing in Kazakhstan

A suicide bomber has blown himself up outside the headquarters of the security services in the Kazakh capital Astana early on Tuesday, causing casualties.

A press secretary for the KNB security services told the agency, however, that a car simply caught fire outside the entrance.  ‘A car just caught fire and blew up. Nothing special happened here. Any car can catch fire in any place,’ spokesman Kenzhebulat Beknazarov told the agency.  Such attacks until now have been hugely rare in Kazakhstan…….   (source)

One man’s journey toward Islamorealism

“My Journey Toward Islamoawareness” was posted by Lawrence Meyers at Big Peaceon May 21 (thanks to JW), but Meyers explains that “a friend who works in Hollywood penned this essay which I thought would be of interest to BigPeace readers. He would gladly have contributed it directly, but as he works in Hollywood, he is concerned about the “non-existent” blacklist, and asked that I post it for him.” What this Hollywood guy calls “Islamoawareness” is exactly the same thing that I was trying to sum up in a word I coined some time ago, “Islamorealism”: a clear-sighted antidote to “Islamophobia” and Islamophobophobia.

I use the term “Islamoawareness” because people who are critical of Islamic doctrine are often smeared as “Islamophobes”. I reject this label because a “phobia” is an irrational fear of something, but to fear something that is, indeed, out to kill you is the height of rationality.I started this journey after 9/11, but not immediately after. As shocked as I was that nearly 3,000 lives were brutally snuffed out by Islamic terrorists, I bought the line that George Bush and Tony Blair parroted; namely, that Islam is a “religion of peace” that had been “hijacked” by extremists. So, I dismissed Osama bin Laden as nothing more than a homicidal extremist, and I really didn’t examine it any deeper.

But then I happened to see a billboard on Sunset Blvd. around May 2005. The billboard had some words on it I had never seen before, including “dhimmitude”, “Eurabia” and “Bat Y’eor”, and the address of a website, jihadwatch.org. (You can see the billboard here.)

United Nations high commissioner for human rights Navi Pillay has slammed the Australian government’s asylum seeker deal with Malaysia as illegal.

Navi Pillay, who is to meet with Prime Minister Julia Gillard in Canberra on Tuesday, has told a forum in Sydney that asylum seekers are not adequately protected in Malaysia.

‘If Australia is serious … about sending 800 people out to Malaysia then I think it violates refugee law,’ she said.

‘It cannot send individuals to a country that has not ratified the torture convention, the convention on refugees.’

Ms Gillard wants to send 800 asylum seekers who try to come to Australia by boat to Malaysia for processing.

In exchange, Australia will resettle 4000 genuine refugees currently residing in Malaysia.

Ms Pillay said Australia’s asylum seeker processing policy should be legal and made more efficient.

‘The first option should not be how best to turn away people, the first option should be how to receive people.’
