“We want the officer or officers involved to be prosecuted, and the government to issue an apology,” protester Manala Mohammed, a Syrian national, told The Associated Press. “We want people to show us respect.”

“Greek rights activist”  Thanassis Kourkoulas, one of the protest organizers, said the marches were intended to show immigrants “have a voice.” He said, “What happened is a great insult to every Muslim, every immigrant and every Greek who respects democracy.”

 GREECE:  ATHENS 2ND DAY OF CLASHES BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND POLICE

(ANSAmed) – ATHENS, MAY 22 – Today in Athens for the second consecutive day a few hundred Muslim immigrants invaders were involved in clashes with the police, one of whom was accused of stealing a copy of the Koran and beating a Muslim. Over 1,000 people were involved in protests after spontaneous  (?)  demonstrations yesterday, during which violence took place with bottles and rocks being thrown, causing the police to intervene with tear-gas. Numerous people were taken into custody. The protest, which was announced yesterday, began this afternoon in the centrally-located Omonia Square, with people chanting ‘Allah is Great’ and ‘Stop racism’, (what race is Islam again?) while holding copies of the Koran, despite the fact that authorities said yesterday that they would investigate into the accusations against the police officer. During a march towards Parliament, protected  (?)  by large numbers of police, the protestors damaged automobiles and set garbage bins ablaze while police responded with tear-gas. Forced to pull back, the protestors dispersed and other clashes took place in various parts of the city. Dozens were taken into custody according to the press. Some were bruised or slightly wounded. Yesterday a few hundred Muslims, mainly Pakistani and Afghan citizens, had already protested similarly against the police, resulting in one officer to be slightly injured and several reported bruises.

Gates of Vienna readers who delve into the comments are familiar with Laine, who comments here regularly and always has something interesting to say. I enjoy reading his posts because I almost always agree with him, and appreciate his rhetorical fluidity.

On CB’s recent post about Swedish public media’s radical Muslim darling, Laine had this to say (edited slightly for punctuation and clarity):

For “Swedish Public Media” substitute “leftist extremist media”.

For “extreme right media” substitute also “leftist extremist media”.

Then there’s no mystery why “both” give a terrorist-promoting anti-Semitic imam a soapbox. There’s no “both”. It’s a single extremist mentality and it’s found on the Left.

The Left’s enormous public relations coup is twofold:

1.   They managed to ascribe their secondary socialist tumor — Hitler and the Nazis — to the right side of the ledger, on the sole basis that he turned on their favored communist tumor the Soviets. That was simply a falling-out among leftist thieves who had signed the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact of co-operation dividing up eastern Europe. Then one of the thugs got greedy and the other thug joined with “the good guys” to save his own skin and ended up grabbing the loot he’d been promised by Hitler and running a worse criminal enterprise that set new records for holocausts.
2.   The Left, according to the Gramsci protocol for cultural communism, infiltrated and came to dominate all western organs of public information, including public education and the media. This leftist-dominated media has consistently presented as “centrist” leftist views that have become progressively more blatant and extreme. Concomitantly, anything to the right of them is then presented as “extreme right-wing” and smeared with the poor fit of Nazism. That a few ignorant boys dress up in Nazi regalia and spout the meme that they are right-wing does not make it so.

 

The Right — or conservatives, as I prefer to call us — has been absolutely lousy at the propaganda war. (If we really were Nazis we’d be a lot better at it). It’s the Left, whether Nazi or Soviet, that has a lock on this “talent”.

Conservatives are for liberty and individual rights. Both Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia were totalitarian systems with significant similarities (including denial of individual rights and eventual anti-Semitism) and trivial differences.

Sweden has no extreme right (demanding small government) or even centrist media. It is all left all the time, call it what you will. How much more extreme can you get than opening your gates to people who declare their intention is to substitute themselves and their culture for yours?

Why are these crazy people allowed to get away with calling themselves moderates or centrists or hide behind double euphemisms like “Public (meaning government) media”?

In a strikingly self-critical speech, the Foreign Secretary admitted the invasion had damaged Britain’s standing by leaving a legacy of ‘bitterness, distrust and resentment’ across the Muslim world.

David Miliband admitted that London’s interventions from the Crusades and colonialism to the invasion of Iraq had created distrust in many countries, with the latter war causing “a sense of bitterness, distrust and resentment”.

Although he did not apologise for supporting the invasion of Iraq, he said that for centuries relations between Europe and the Islamic world had been characterised by ‘conquest, conflict, and colonialism’.

Speaking to the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, he said: ‘Decisions taken many years ago in King Charles Street [the Foreign Office] are still felt on the landscape of the Middle East and South Asia.

‘Ruined crusader castles remain as poignant monuments to the religious violence of the Middle Ages. Lines drawn on maps by colonial powers were succeeded, amongst other things, by the failure -it has to be said not just ours – to establish two states in Palestine.

‘More recently, the invasion of Iraq, and its aftermath, aroused a sense of bitterness, distrust and resentment. When people hear about Britain, too often they think of these things.’

In other related news, Egypt has reportedly seized a weapons cache containing 200kg of explosives that would have eventually been bound for Gaza. I’m thinking that at this rate, we might have been better off letting the Palestinians try and smuggle them through the tunnels.

A new poll in Egypt, reported by Firas Press, explains exactly what Arabs mean when they say they want to see “peace” in the region.

The poll was titled “What are your dreams?” and was conducted by the “National Center for Social and Criminal Research in collaboration with the Center for Information and Decision Support Council of Ministers.”

According to the poll, 71% of Egyptians dream of peace in the region.

The same poll found that 58% dream of the destruction of Israel.

Which means, of course, that the Arab concept of peace is what most people would call “war.” But it’s OK as long as the victims of the war are those undesirable Jews.

You know – Egypt’s “peace partners.”

(Bilbao, Spain) The Spanish Interior Ministry announced that 13+ alleged Islamist extremists (? are there any other ones?)  were arrested last night in the northern city of Bilbao. Twelve were identified as Algerian and one is an Iraqi.

All those arrested are accused of belonging to an organised criminal gang which sent part of its takings to the Islamic Magreb Al Qaeda group. Money raised in Spain from burglaries, drug trafficking, credit card falsification and even begging was allegedly sent on to Algeria.

Months-long investigations in run-of-the-mill crime fortunately led to the arrests. Police say that more arrests are possible.

Obama seizes individually owned business

This just gets worse and worse, folks. Except for a few of us, no one out there seems to be reporting the facts. Fear of the Dictator Obama (he appears to be more like Stalin than Hugo Chavez) is on the rise. Soon to be Obama-owned (under the cover of his government-takeovers) private sector business executives, workers, small business owners and even elected Congressional representatives and senators — from both sides of the aisle — are running scared of the despot-usurper. As it becomes more obvious that the Obama is — in fact — destroying the country to rebuild it in his own image (with all of us now working for him — not ourselves and/or our families), more and more people are cowering in what they hope will be the cover of shadows. Every day, Obama is on television — at least once/day — telling us what he is and will be doing. These items include unconstitutional activities and others that are patently against the laws of the United States of America. For example, under the US Constitution neither he nor any other POTUS has the authority to seize and nationalize private industry. But, he has. Obama does not have the authority to seize any private business. But, he seems to be doing just that.

having zero military experience or knowledge, how will you deal with
