It will be forever ignored or denied by those who insist that Islam is a Religion of Peace, but in reality there is no Misunderstanding of Islam going on here. Every provision of this law as stated in this article, including the rule that women cannot refuse sex to their husbands at any time or for any reason, is part of traditional Islamic law. And so this new law is yet another indication of how the overtures to the Taliban from official Washington are out of focus. Will the U.S. stand up for these women and defend them? Absolutely not, because they are being victimized by Sharia, to which Washington has no apparent objection, and because they are not being blown up in terrorist attacks. The passing of a law in a non-violent manner — what’s the problem? It’s democracy at work!

Melanie Phillips quotes extensively from “The Two – State Solution is 87 Years Old,” an article by Victor Sharpe in the American Thinker, March 29. It is a superb and important piece, as she says, detailing Britain’s long record of betrayals of the Jewish people and appeasement of Arab demands — and even now, jihadist demands grow ever more shrill, and Western politicians prepare to betray Israel yet again in another round of appeasement, with Obama and company acting as if the “two-state solution” has never yet been tried, when it is the only thing that has ever been tried.

Phillips concludes:

It is only if the true history of the Middle East is understood that certain things become inescapably clear: the scale of the monumental lie that has been so assiduously promulgated about the nature of this dispute, a lie which is now generally assumed in the west to be true and which is driving the genocidal hysteria against Israel; the fact that the fundamental cause of this tragic impasse was the repeated British appeasement of Arab terror, illegality and injustice, a policy which continues to this very day; and the immorality and absurdity therefore of believing that today’s ‘two-state solution’ – which among other things means that the ‘progressives’ who support it thus support the ethnic cleansing of all Jews from the putative state of Palestine – would be anything other than a Final Solution for the Jews of Israel, not to mention an incalculable victory for the forces waging war against the free world.

There is a terror attack in Bat Ayin in Gush Etzion (Etzion bloc). The terrorist apparently attacked a 7-year old boy with an axe and the boy is critically wounded. There is also someone seriously hurt by shooting in connection with the incident. This incident was just reported on Israel Radio (Hat Tip: Eliyahu P), and details are scant.

Those ‘peaceful Palestinians’ have issued another death threat against anyone who sells land to the Jews after a report that American Jews have been buying land from ‘Palestinians.’

The latest warning was issued on Wednesday by the Chief [Islamic] Judge of the Palestinian Authority, Sheikh Tayseer Rajab Tamimi, who reminded the Palestinians of an existing fatwa  (Fatwa 36)  than bans them from selling property to Jews.   More>>>

But just give them a state and they’ll be happy to let Jews come to visit. Just like Saudi Arabia.

By the way, unfortunately, these threats are not a joke. Recall the case of  Muhammed Abu al-Hawa (three links), who was murdered in April 2006 for selling land to Jews in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Abu Tor. And of course that explains why when they are discovered selling land to Jews, ‘Palestinians’ will inevitably deny it (in collaboration with Israeli ‘peace groups’ of course) as was the case with Shalom House in Hebron from which the Jewish residents were ultimately expelled in December 2008.

 It is unthinkable for Muslims that conquered peoples should rise up and throw off the yoke of Islam or that land once in the domain of Islam should ever be lost to that domain. According to Islamic thinking, once a region has been conquered for Islam, it is always Islamic and must be re-conquered from the infidel, regardless of the passage of time.

Recounting the interview that followed her arrest, Inspector Steven Patton told the NSW District Court yesterday: “As she was saying this she was sobbing and said, ‘I spoke at your multicultural day, how embarrassing, you must have all been laughing’.”

Insp Patton spoke to Ms Hage-Ali after she was picked up in Sydney on suspicion of “very low level” cocaine dealing on November 6, 2006.

Will Louise Adler and Q&A be as loudly condemnatory of these real abuses by the Palestinian Authoriy forces as they were last week of unsubstantiated abuses by Israel:

Since the end of December 2008, during and after the Israeli military offensive which killed some 1,300 Palestinians, most of them civilians, Hamas forces and militias in the Gaza Strip have engaged in a campaign of abductions, deliberate and unlawful killings, torture and death threats against those they accuse of “collaborating” with Israel, as well as opponents and critics.

Note Amnesty International’s anti-Israeli spin, incidentally, even when criticising Hamas. Its claim that Israeli forces killed 1300 Palestinians, “most of them civilians”, is credibly denied by both Israel and journalists.

Should you be inclined to prefer the Hamas (and Amnesty) account of the death toll, and the claims that 960 of the alleged 1434 dead were civilians, consider this:  What are the odds that most of the dead were civilians when even Hamas concedes that men outnumber the women among the dead 1025 to 121?
