Azzam Tamimi: Killing civilians is fine if it produces results

Two days ago the Pakistani Sufi organisation Minhaj-ul-Quran launched their remarkably comprehensive fatwa (religious ruling) against terrorism and suicide bombing.

Since then the Muslim Brotherhood’s Azzam Tamimi has been on a one-man mission to discredit it.

On the BBC, he mocked al-Qadri for not preventing suicide bombings in Pakistan before saying that he himself believed that suicide bombing was allowed in “self-defence” (but not against “innocent civilians” – as opposed, presumably, to guilty civilians) and saying that:

‘Then there is the question of utility and whether this is actually good for the cause or bad for the cause and in most cases it’s not good for the cause. And I think this is the argument we need to push forward rather than resorting to fatwas because for every fatwa, there is a counter fatwa.’

A gunman opened fire at the subway entrance to Pentagon complex Thursday evening, wounding two Pentagon police officers, officials said.

The gunman was also shot and in custody, said Pentagon Police Chief Richard Keevil.

Keevil said the man was calm as he approached the officers at the main entrance around 6:40 p.m.

They asked to see his pass to enter the building.

“He reached into his pocket and they assumed he was going to get out his pass and he just started shooting,” Keevil said.

The officers immediately fired back.

GUJRANWALA, PAKISTAN (ANS) — A 34-year-old Christian woman was accused of blasphemy on March 1, 2010, in Wandu, a village in the Gujranawala district of Pakistan’s Punjab state, when she refused to sell her cosmetics shop to aspiring Muslim shop owners in the market.

    AUSTRALIAN Federal Police agents are believed to have been involved in a hit-and-run car accident less than 12 hours after arriving in Israel to investigate the use of passports of three Australians in last month’s Dubai assassination.

    In an extraordinary turn of events, a car screeched out of the car park under the Australian Embassy in Tel Aviv and hit a woman riding a bicycle, who was not seriously injured.

    But the car did not stop, instead continuing on its high-speed journey.

    The Australian Embassy last night confirmed it was investigating the incident but would not confirm that the car that hit the woman contained the three AFP agents.

    Instead of sending Aussie coppers on a wild goose chase to Israel, perhaps KRudd should take advice from Hamas instead:
