All in one country! The guy who tried to assassinate the Pope years ago, which resulted in the Pope’s use of the shielded Popemobile, was Turkish.

This is just the latest stabbing, besides the Catholic clergy who have died from their attacks, there have been others as well. They keep saying the man’s motives were not political ~ and we don’t even know the man’s name!! And all this happens the day before the Bishop is about to travel to Cyprus to meet the Pope. If this is not disturbing!

ROME — A Roman Catholic bishop was stabbed to death in eastern Turkey on Thursday, a day before he had planned to travel to Cyprus for the visit of Pope Benedict XVI.

The bishop, Luigi Padovese, 62, the apostolic vicar of Anatolia, or the Vatican’s representative to eastern Turkey, was found dead outside his home in the Mediterranean port of Iskenderun, officials said. The police arrested his driver, who officials said had psychological problems.

Time to Dump Turkey

“Hamas are resistance fighters who are struggling to defend their land. They have won an election,” Recep Tayyip Erdogan said yesterday in a speech broadcast live on television.

“I have told this to US officials… I do not accept Hamas as a terrorist organisation…”

The United States and the European Union blacklist Hamas as a terrorist group despite its victory in Palestinian elections in 2006.

Mr Erdogan made the remarks in an angry tirade against Israel after Monday’s raid on a flotilla carrying aid to the Gaza Strip, which claimed the lives of nine Turks …

The Wall Street Journal wonders how much the Turkish Government was behind an Islamist plot to make a pariah of Israel:

So the Prime Minister of Turkey calls Israel “a festering boil in the Middle East that spreads hate and enmity,” while his foreign minister compares Monday’s Israeli naval raid on a flotilla of ships headed for the Gaza Strip, in which nine passengers were killed, to the attacks of September 11, 2001…

Yet the more facts that come to light about the flotilla, its passengers and their sponsors, the more it seems clear that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Ergodan’s government, far more so than Israel’s, must be held to account for Monday’s violent episode… The Turkish accounting should begin with a full explanation from the government of its relationship with the IHH, an Istanbul-based Islamic “charity” that purchased three of the six boats used in the flotilla from the city government, sent hundreds of its activists along with it, and reportedly has ties to Turkey’s ruling Islamist AKP Party.

That attitude conforms with the general pattern of Mr. Erdogan’s foreign policy. For all his denunciations of Israel’s alleged brutality in Monday’s raid, he was among the first foreign leaders to congratulate Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his “victory” in last year’s presidential election.

The IHH—the Turkish acronym for the “Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief”—has widely reported links to Hamas, the terrorist group that runs Gaza and most directly threatens Israel. Moreover, in the 2001 Seattle trial of Ahmed Ressam, the would-be Millennium bomber, French counterterrorism magistrate Jean-Louis Bruguiere testified that the IHH had played an “important role” in Ressam’s plot to bomb LAX airport on New Year’s Day, 2000, and that there was “a rather close relation” between the bomber and the Turkish group…

Yet knowing all this, the Turkish government made no effort to prevent the flotilla from setting sail. The government also seems unembarrassed that the IHH belongs to a Saudi-based umbrella group of Islamic charities known as “The Union of the Good,” which the U.S. Treasury designated a terrorist organization in November 2008. On the contrary, Mr. Erdogan has been outspoken in his calls for the world to recognize Hamas, even as his relations with the more moderate Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas have been notably cool.

What Did You Say About Muhammad?!

Which is more likely to elicit an irate Muslim response: 1) public cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad, or 2) public proclamations that Muhammad was a bisexual, sometime transvestite and necrophile, who enjoyed sucking on the tongues of children, commanded a woman to “breastfeed” an adult man, and advised believers to drink his urine for salutary health?

Based on the recent South Park fiasco—where an animated episode depicting Muhammad in a bear suit sparked outrage among various Muslim groups, culminating with the usual death threats—the answer is clear: cartoons, once again, have proven to be the Muslim world’s premiere provocateur. Indeed, during a university lecture the other day, Swedish artist Lars Vilks, whose life is in jeopardy due to his depiction of Muhammad as a dog, was violently assaulted to ululations of “Allahu Akbar!” (Islam’s primordial war cry).

Yet how can cartoons rouse Muslim ire more than public assertions that Muhammad was a bisexual, a transvestite, a necrofile, et al? First, context:

Days after a leading Islamic seminary held as un-Islamic women working in offices in proximity with men, another seminary has issued a fatwa that Muslim women can work in offices but with a veil.

Woman “erroneously told”  to remove headscarf for driving license photo

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A Muslim woman who was erroneously told to remove her headscarf for a driver’s license photo will be allowed to retake her photo with the head covering on. The Council on American-Islamic Relations said Thursday that a Department of Motor Vehicle employee in Oceanside insisted that the woman remove her headscarf, even though state rules allow for religious head coverings in ID photos.

DMV spokeswoman Jan Mendoza said there was a misunderstanding. She said the employee asked the woman to move her scarf, but she removed it instead.

She said DMV staff can ask customers to move head coverings so the whole face is showing.

Mendoza says the employee has apologized to the woman.

A banker claims she was sacked for wearing clothes that were too sexy.

Debrahlee Lorenzana, 33, said she was fired by Citibank because her pencil skirts and fitted suits distracted male colleagues.

She was told not to wear high heels because they drew attention to her figure and stopped men from working, according to a lawsuit.

Other female colleagues who wore similar clothes did not cause a problem because they were not as attractive as her, it was claimed.

Miss Lorenzana, a single mother whose father is Puerto Rican and whose mother is Italian, worked at Citibank in New York.

She is suing Citigroup – the group which owns Citibank – for sexual harassment. The company denies any wrongdoing.

Her lawyer said she ‘was punished because her male bosses couldn’t handle their libidos’.

Of her figure, he added: ‘Debrahlee Lorenzana would be very attractive in a burkha.’

Sheik Yer’mami suspects that Debrahlee has no intention to convert anytime soon….

Fartwa Calls on Men to Drink Women’s Breast Milk

Last month, I wrote a PJM article [1] dealing with some of Islam’s “problematic” practices, specifically those attributable to the Muslim prophet Muhammad. One of these — the Muslim phenomenon of “adult-breastfeeding,” or rida‘ al-kabir [2] — is making headlines again, precisely three years to the day since it last created controversy [3] in (and inevitable mockery of) the Islamic world. According to Gulf News [4]:

Exactly three years ago, on May 22, 2007, an Egyptian scholar was disciplined by Al Azhar University, one of Islam’s most prestigious institutions, after he issued a fatwa calling upon women to breastfeed their male colleagues. Dr. Izzat Attiyah said that his fatwa offered a way around mixing of the sexes in the work place since breast-feeding established a maternal relation even if the beneficiary was not the woman’s biological son or daughter.

Now, a high-ranking Saudi, Sheikh Abdul Mohsin al-Abaican, a consultant at Saudi Arabia’s royal court, has issued a fatwa asserting that

women could give their milk to men to establish a degree of maternal relations and get around a strict religious ban on mixing between unrelated men and women. [Because] a man who often entered a house and came in contact with the womenfolk there should be made symbolically related to the women by drinking milk from one of the women. Under the fatwa, the act would preclude any sexual relations between the man and the donor woman and her relatives.

Sheikh al-Abaican thus “modernizes” Dr. Izzat’s position — that the man must breastfeed directly from the teat — by suggesting: “The man should take the milk, but not directly from the breast of the woman. He should drink it and then becomes a relative of the family, a fact that allows him to come in contact with the women without breaking Islam’s rules about mixing.”

Ex-wife 'doused with fuel and stabbed'

A  (Musel-) man accused of dousing his ex-wife with fuel and stabbing her has been remanded in custody in a Sydney court.

The 62-year-old allegedly approached his ex-wife outside a Lakemba shop yesterday afternoon at about 4:30pm (AEST).

He is accused of throwing lighter fuel on her before slashing her face with a stanley knife.

The 41-year-old managed to get away after a short struggle and is recovering in Bankstown Hospital.

Haddad did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on Monday.

Two of his relatives cried during the court hearing.

Democracy & “Social Justice” Programs Approved For Turkey

Thirteen democratization projects worth more than 1.5 million euros have been approved by the European Union within the framework of Turkey’s EU membership bid.

Project themes range from social justice to social inclusion to protection human rights. They are aimed at including nongovernmental actors in raising public awareness and helping initiate the necessary reforms.

The project awarded the most funding is titled “Promotion of Human Rights for Sex Workers and Transgender people” with a grant worth 140,000 euros. The projects have already been launched and will last on average 16 months.

What could be more important than “Human Rights for Sex Workers and Transgender people?”

“Protection of human rights” in this context means almost certainly protection for Islam, “hate speech” laws, enforcement of sharia (“blasphemy laws”) and preventing scrutiny of the Islamic belief system. “Social Justice” is Commie code  for  Socialism.

Hague reaffirms support for Turkey’s EU bid

The UK’s newly appointed foreign secretary, William Hague, has said the UK will continue to strongly support Turkey’s bid to join the European Union.

Hague wrote an article for Europe’s World, a tri-annual Europe-wide policy journal, to be published in June, in which he discussed how the new British government saw its EU policy. “The case for Turkey’s accession to the EU is as strong as ever,” he stated, adding that its membership would bring certain benefits to the 27-member bloc.

Yesterday I noted the State Department’s showcasing of the Dar al-Hijra Islamic Center in a film about Muslim life in America — despite the mosque’s longstanding ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, its virulent Islamist ideology, its support for the murderous Hamas organization, its notorious Islamist imams and elders (including al Qaeda recruiter Anwar al-Awlaki), and the ties of some of its worshippers to the 9/11 attacks and the Fort Hood massacre. Then, we learned that the federal government has struck a deal to pay Dar al-Hijra a whopping $582K just for this year (i.e., about one-tenth what it cost the Saudis to build the place), purportedly because the Census Bureau needs work space — y’know, because there are like no federal facilities anywhere near Falls Church, Virginia.

Now we learn that State is doubling down. Steve Emerson’s Investigative Project on Terrorism is reported today that:

The State Department wants its next wave of diplomats to learn what Muslims in other countries think of America. To do that, it is sending a class to Anwar al-Awlaki’s former mosque in Falls Church, Va. this Sunday, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has learned.

As we reported Tuesday, federal law enforcement officials view the Dar al-Hijrah mosque as home to Hamas operatives and others linked to terrorist financing and “bad orgs.” In addition, it was home to two years to Awlaki, a charismatic, American-born cleric now living in Yemen. He is considered to have been inspirational to the accused Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan, failed airplane bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab and Times Square bomber Faizal Shahzad. As a result, he may be the only American the CIA is authorized by the President to kill.
