Cameron’s recent foray into dhimmitude — from extolling the nebulous, politically correct construct known as “real Islam,” to calling Gaza a “prison camp,” to his understated comments on Pakistan as an exporter of jihadist terrorism — has failed to win hearts and minds here.

And Pakistan’s posture is but a variation on the idea of “Say Islam is a religion of peace, or we’ll kill you”: Say Pakistan is a great ally and an honest partner with intentions as pure as the driven snow, or lose what little cooperation you’re actually getting, and any terrorism that follows will be all your fault. ISI? Never heard of ’em.

Weep for Britain: 1940 this is not

When David Cameron became Britain’s Prime Minister, I warned that he would turn out to be even worse than Labour on the related issues of Israel and the global threat from Islamism to Britain and the west. This was because Cameron had no knowledge of or interest in foreign affairs, and so was always likely merely to reflect the most politically expedient views he encountered – which, given the current poisonous attitude within the British establishment and intelligentsia, were likely to push him into appeasing Britain’s mortal enemies in the Islamic world and dumping on Israel, Britain’s strategic ally in that great struggle.

But even I did not foresee just how cynical Cameron would turn out to be — and how dangerous therefore to the British national interest. Today’s truly shocking and quite astoundingly stupid speech in Turkey has now laid bare the fathomless shallowness and frightening ignorance and idiocy of Britain’s new Prime Minister.

Last week a documentary was shown on German TV about the plight of German students who are now a minority in their own school. The following review of “War in the Classroom” appeared in Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung before the film was aired. The documentary itself may be found at the ARD website (in German).

Everything used to be different, even in the schools. That reverberates in the notable film by Nicola Graf and Güner Y. Balci. Nobody says everything was better in Essen-Karnap then, almost three decades ago, when Brigitta Holford became a teacher at the local secondary school. Right at the start, she tells what was different: she liked teaching so much. Her German and Turkish students were a community; there were many friendships. At some point, the Germans began to draw away. At some point, they became the minority in the classroom, and since then things have been difficult in the schoolyard and in teaching.

Brigitte Holford still has these good-natured eyes. She always tries her hardest to give her students the best start in life, but it is immediately apparent that it is a losing battle. In intensive conversations over a long period of time, the two cinematic authors are able to show the difficult situation the students and faculty are in. It is the story of a manifested intolerance which defies all attempts by teachers to crack it.

Today’s Jerusalem Post carries a long, rambling interview with Douglas Murray of the Centre for Social Cohesion.

Among the aperçus Murray offers is the bizarre claim that multiculturalism led the British police to refuse to investigate murders if they were classed as honour killings (“This is a community matter, they’d say”), the assertion that “you are more likely to become a major terrorist if you’ve gone to university” (as demonstrated by the case of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab who got “in touch with the top jihadis via his Islamic studies society”), and the revelation that Inayat Bunglawala, of all people, is a “very unpleasant sinister figure”!

Whereas there is of course nothing unpleasant or sinister about a right-wing bigot like Murray, who holds that “there’s a very rational fear in being scared of Islam today and wanting to act against it” and who advocates that “conditions for Muslims in Europe must be made harder across the board“.

Listening to Douglas Murray, one gets a picture of a world turned on its head, one where relativism has trumped common sense, where the state pays its enemies more than its soldiers and where turning in the inciters becomes an act of incitement.

Murray is the 31-year-old director of the Center for Social Cohesion, a London-based think tank that studies radicalization and extremism in the UK, and he is an outspoken critic of the British government’s response to the challenge of radical Islam.

Of course, here on WoT we are unamused about the massive  Islamic invasion of our lands and the fierce proselytizing efforts by the soldiers of Allah, which is largely ignored by the ruling elites.

Obama administration “notably silent” on Morocco’s treatment of Christians

Surprising? Not at all, but newsworthy nonetheless. It is but one more example in the broader pattern of disturbing conduct by the Obama administration in its drive to gain the approval of the Muslim world at seemingly any cost.

A motorist spat at a traffic warden and shouted racist abuse after he was given a parking ticket.

Unemployed Sabir Ali, 28, stepped out of a takeaway on Wilmslow Road, Rusholme, to find three traffic wardens around his car, which was parked on double-yellow lines.

A court was told he snatched the parking ticket and then began shouting abuse and making an obscene gesture.

Manchester magistrates were told he also shouted a racist insult and spat at Atina Ndindeng, a traffic warden taking photos of his green Fiat Punto.

But Ali told the court the warden walked into the spit.

Afshan Hashmi, prosecuting, said he admitted to police he spat and made a racist comment, but denied aiming the spit or the comment at Mr Ndindeng.

She said: “He said he did spit, but not at Mr Ndindeng. He believed he may have walked into his spit and that’s how he got spit on him”

Ali, of Scotforth Close, Hulme, admitted using threatening, insulting or offensive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He denied racially aggravated assault, but was found guilty after a trial.

Ali told the court he had gone for a job at the takeaway at 8.15pm on January 24 this year and was angry after being told the job was no longer available.

He claimed the traffic wardens outside were laughing at him and added: “I wasn’t racist at anybody. I don’t know how the words came out.

“I don’t know how the spit landed on him. I didn’t spit at anybody. I spat in front of me. Nobody was there.”

Mr Ndindeng, 30, who has been a traffic warden for four years, said: “He started pouring insults on me.

“He came back to the car and he spat at me. Part of it came on my hand and some of it on my face.

“I didn’t expect that kind of behaviour. I was just carrying out my duties, but it went too personal, which embarrassed me. I’ve never had that before in my life.”

Another traffic warden Dale Price, 28, said: “He spat towards Atina. It went on his hand.”

Their colleague Foster Odoro, 24, said: “He was aggressive. He moved towards him and spat at him.”

David Thompson, defending, said: “He says he didn’t intentionally spit at the claimant. If you feel it was an accident, you should acquit him.”

Ali was told by the bench his actions had been ‘at best intentional and at worst reckless’. The case was adjourned for pre-sentencing reports until July 28.

Giving a fascinating insight into his view of his inherited wealth and influence, he said: ‘I can only somehow imagine that I find myself being born into this position for a purpose.

‘I don’t want my grandchildren or yours to come along and say to me, “Why the hell didn’t you come and do something about this? You knew what the problem was”. That is what motivates me.

‘I wanted to express something in the outer world that I feel inside… We seem to have lost that understanding of the whole of nature and the universe as a living entity.’

Senior royal aides denied the prince was attempting to mould his public image and pave the way to ensure a positive legacy.

One said: ‘In private he has dismissed talk of legacies – that’s not for him to say because it’s for others to judge. But hopefully his charities will carry on for many years to come.

‘He has said there is a reason why he’s in a position to raise these issues – that there is some higher power. But there is more to his role than just green problems.

‘It’s true that outside royal duties, the environment is the thing he cares most passionately about.’

In a trailer to the film, the prince spoke passionately about his decades-long quest for what he described in a statement as ‘a sacred duty of stewardship of the natural order of things’.

He said: ‘I started 22 years ago on something that nobody really wanted to know about except a few people who thought it was pretty crazy.

‘The way nature presents itself – we’ve turned it into merely a mechanical process.

‘What is happening to the small farmers around the world is simply appalling, as a result of globalisation. Is that really the intention behind it all, just to sweep all these people off the land?’

An Asian woman, who is not named in the documentary, piled praise on the royal, saying: ‘Princes Charles has been a very courageous man because he has never thought through the throne he will occupy – he has thought through the planet he lives on.’

Covert police footage captured the pair patting down bags before dipping in and helping themselves to iPods, cigarettes and cash, Sky News UK reports

Some $55,000 in cash was discovered at Interserve worker Anthony Currant’s home – as well as 12,000 cigarettes and 66 packs of tobacco. Police found 4,800 cigarettes and 144 packs of tobacco at accomplice Abul Hussain’s house, plus a number of electrical items, jewellery and a quantity of cash.

The pair were jailed after being arrested in February.

Police began the operation after passengers complained that valuables went missing from their luggage.

Secret cameras caught the two workers diverting arriving luggage into a smaller room, where they rummaged through suitcases and bags.

Thefts from luggage at the airport dropped 77 percent after the pair was caught.

Currant was sentenced to six months in jail, while Hussain received a three-month sentence for his lesser role in the thefts.

“Travellers can be reassured that we take the security of their luggage very seriously,” Sgt. Steve Farrer, of Luton Airport police said.

“With an average of around 700,000 passengers travelling through the airport each month and around seven pilferages now being recorded each month, this makes up a very small percentage of all baggage handled.”
