Arab League seeks free-fire zone for Gaza’s jihadists, calling for U.N. to impose “no-fly zone” over territory

The Arab League knows the jihadists would stand to gain on every possible outcome from such a measure, if it succeeded in passing. On the most basic level, they would have a free-fire zone from Gaza into Israel. They would score propaganda points if Israel chose to defy the ban in order to exercise its right to defend itself. They would scream “occupation!” at the top of their lungs if Israel opted for a ground incursion, claiming casus belli for “defensive jihad,” which is ultimately a jihad waiting for an excuse.

THE federal opposition has backed a West Australian minister’s controversial comments on the burka, saying the dress goes against Australian culture and should not be worn.

WA Minister for Women’s Interests Robyn McSweeney sparked heated debate when she spoke out against the burka at the weekend, labelling it “alien” to Australia’s way of life. “I’m saying that it’s confronting when somebody’s face is not showing and I personally think that they’re being oppressed,” Ms McSweeney told The Australian yesterday. “I would just love for them to have the freedom to show their faces.”

Opposition parliamentary secretary for the status of women Michaelia Cash said the burka had nothing to do with religion because Islam stipulated modesty only, not the wearing of a face covering. She said the dress deprived women of their identity and isolated them from society. “It is inconsistent with our culture and values and I truly believe that women should not do it,” she said.

Sheikh Al Hilali overrules court verdict

The conviction of two Muselmanic criminals, sentenced to life imprisonment for the 2003 murder of Ahmed Fahda at Punchbowl (Sydney), has been quashed by the New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeal.

The court’s decision was based solely on the word of honour of Sheikh Taj el-Din al-Hilali, who said that the main prosecution witness was forced to lie in the court of law by the police.

In a unanimous decision the New South Wales Court of Criminal Appeal has quashed the conviction and ordered a retrial on the grounds of new evidence.

The new information is a conversation between Sydney’s Sheikh Taj el-Din al-Hilali and a key witness in the trial, Bassam Said.

“He (Bassam Said) said to me, ‘I swear, father Sheikh, what I saw with my own eyes, I did say in my first statement. I assure you and I swear by Allah to you that I did not recognise the killers, I did not recognise anyone. However the police do not believe me and the continue to insist and put pressure on me and ask me to confess that I recognise the killers’,” the affidavit said. (source)

As we all know the word of Sheikh Al Hilali is as good as gold.

After all he’s closer to Allah that an infidel jury.

 

U.N. attempts to broker Gaza ceasefire; Hamas says it is “interested in calm”

The hudna is never meant to last, but Hamas will take full advantage of the chance to regroup and reload under cover of the legitimacy (such as it is) of a U.N.-brokered ceasefire… if they ever actually stop firing. As the all-too-true Israeli quip puts it: “We cease and they fire.”

The Iron Dome battery deployed in Be’er Sheba intercepted two rockets fired from the Gaza Strip over the course of Friday night. The Iron Dome’s battery in Ashkelon intercepted as many as four rockets. The IAF struck Hamas in the southern Gaza Strip
