This manual has been around for years. I quoted the above in my 2002 book Islam Unveiled. But it’s something useful to keep in mind — when jihadists are speaking to jihadists, they drop the pretense we forever hear from Muslim spokesmen in the West, that it is false that Islam was “spread by the sword.” It would be interesting to hear those Muslim spokesmen challenge the jihadists on this point, but of course they never do.

Only last week a terror suspect was jailed in Britain for having a copy of it and told that its possession was a “serious criminal offence”.

But the deadly document, described as a Declaration of Jihad, is a public record in the US – after being translated from Arabic and typed up for MI5, passed to the American authorities and then declassified by the Department of Justice.

Five peacekeepers injured as UN police storm Kosovo courthouse 

 KOSOVSKA MITROVICA (AFP) — Three UN police officers and two NATO soldiers were wounded in an explosion Monday as they stormed a courthouse occupied by Serb protesters in this flashpoint Kosovo town, Kosovo police said.
“A blast occurred in northern Kosovo around 8:10 am (0710 GMT) injuring three UN policemen and two KFOR soldiers,” Kosovo’s local police force said in a statement, without elaborating.
Police spokesman Beshim Hoti said the blast erupted after UN police moved into the court building to arrest more than 50 Serbs who had been occupying the premises since Friday in protest at Kosovo’s declaration of independence.
“I suppose it was a hand granade activated in the courthouse yard,” he told AFP from the capital Pristina.
Kosovo’s UN police force and troops from NATO’s KFOR peacekeeping force surrounded the building in armoured vehicles. Kosovo police spokesman Veton Elshani told AFP that they had arrested 53 people.
“The situation is delicate but under control,” Elshani said.
A group of some 300 Serbs opposed to Kosovo’s independence stormed the UN-run courthouse on Friday. Negotiations with United Nations officials failed over the weekend, and the Serbs refused to leave the premises.
The demonstrators — many of whom worked in Kosovo’s judiciary before the territory came under the administration of the United Nations in 1999 — said they wanted to set up their own court.

KANDAHAR: Militants set ablaze a secondary school in Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar on Friday, authorities said, in at least the third attack on educational institutes this year.

Gunmen set fire to classrooms, books and offices at the Mian Abdul Hakim school for boys and girls, said Mohammad Anwar, head of the Kandahar province Education Department. “They burnt to ash everything, the building, books and chairs,” he told AFP. More than 1,200 students study at the school, including up to 200 girls, said Anwar.

He blamed the attack on “enemies of Afghanistan,” a term often used to refer to Taliban insurgents.

In a similar incident on January 31, militants burned down a primary school in the province of Logar, near Kabul. On January 1, a newly built school for refugee children was torched in the eastern Nangarhar province.

The tactic appears to be intended to disrupt progress in education, apparently one of the most successful sectors of the post-Taliban government’s largely Western-funded reconstruction. The Education Ministry said in January that the Taliban had burned down 183 schools and killed 61 teachers and students in the past 18 months.

Attacks by the insurgents had also closed down nearly 400 schools and deprived around 300,000 children from access to education, it added.

The British charity Oxfam said in November that nearly seven million Afghan children were still not in school although nearly the same number were enrolled. afp

Hamas is murdering with US-weapons

JERUSALEM – The Hamas terrorist group used U.S. weapons against the Israel Defense Forces this weekend, a Hamas official told WND.

The weapons were seized when Hamas last June took complete control of the Gaza Strip, overtaking all U.S.-backed security compounds in the territory associated with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah party.

“We fired at incoming Israeli helicopters using the seized weapons. We will continue to balance the equilibrium of terror with the Zionists,” said Hamas spokesman Abu Oubeida.

On Friday, Hamas gunmen used mounted heavy machine guns to fire at Israeli helicopters that were attacking a cell of terrorists attempting to launch Qassam rockets into Israel. Hamas claimed they struck one helicopter.

*Predator Strike in Pakistan, 20 terrorists roasted

MIRAN SHAH, Pakistan (AP) — At least 20 people were killed in a missile strike near the Afghan border on Sunday, state-run Pakistan Television said.

The strike destroyed the house of a suspected militant leader, according to a local tribesman.

Seven missiles were fired in the strike in the tribal area of South Waziristan, the television report said.

The report did not indicate where the missiles came from, but U.S.-led coalition forces based in neighboring Afghanistan have launched attacks inside the Pakistani border in the past.

Pakistan has been battling Islamic militants linked to al-Qaida and the Taliban in its regions bordering Afghanistan. The U.S. considers the country’s effort vital to the war on terrorism.

The missiles were fired by an unmanned drone, local tribesman, Rahim Khan, told The Associated Press.

At least two hit and destroyed the home of a local militant leader and Taliban sympathizer who goes by the single name Noorullah, Khan said.

I wrote yesterday about the attack on Canon Michael Ainsworth in his own east London churchyard by three ‘Asian’ youths. From the rather fuller stories about this incident in today’s papers, it is clear that this is far from the first such attack in the area. Indeed, there appear to have been many attacks on vicars or churches by Muslims who are clearly intent on turning east London into a no-go area for Christians (and, given the stoning of the Jewish group visiting the area on Holocaust Remembrance Day, for Jews as well. The mosque in the picture, by the way, was once St Sophia cathedral which was converted into a mosque on the fall of Constantinople in 1453, the fate of innumerable churches under Islamic conquest).

The Asian church member, who lives nearby, said: ‘I’ve been physically threatened and verbally abused on the steps of the church.

We have church windows smashed two to three times a month. The youths are anti-Christian.’ … The Reverend Alan Green, Area Dean for Tower Hamlets, said it was the latest in a series of ‘faith hate’ crimes in the borough… ‘There are one or two incidents of faith hate every month across the borough and across all faiths’.

In a survey of 90 London clergy carried out by National Churchwatch last year, nearly half said they had been attacked in the previous 12 months. 

The Sunday Telegraph further reported:

A survey of London clergy by National Churchwatch, which provides personal safety advice, found that nearly half said they had been attacked in the previous 12 months. The organisation suggested that vicars should consider taking off their dog collars when they are on their own.

The Durga Puja is a joyous festival celebrated during the Navratri period by Bengali Hindu communities in India, Bangladesh and the rest of the world.

Unfortunately this year the peaceful celebrations were disrupted twice, by Muslim youths, who attacked an elderly devotee on one occasion and then tried to smash the Murti of Mother Durga as it was being led out at the end of the festival. The elderly people present there were frightened and some of the children were in tears as they witnessed this harassment, whilst the younger worshippers confronted the attackers and a fight broke out between them, which only dissipated when the police arrived.

The aggressors shouted that the area was “their patch” and that they would “not have Hindus worshipping their gods” there.

US: Muslim states, UN fuel anti-Semitism

There has been an upsurge in anti-Semitism over the past decade, much of it a new form whose “distinguishing feature” is criticism of Israel, according to a State Department report released over the weekend.

The 94-page report on 2007 criticizes many Muslim and Arab countries for encouraging anti-Semitism, and an entire chapter is devoted to anti-Semitism at the United Nations.

“Motives for criticizing Israel in the UN may stem from legitimate concerns over policy or from illegitimate prejudices,” the report reads. “However, regardless of the intent, disproportionate criticism of Israel as barbaric and unprincipled, and corresponding discriminatory measures adopted in the UN against Israel, have the effect of causing audiences to associate negative attributes with Jews in general, thus fueling anti-Semitism.”

The report lists forms of anti-Semitic crimes including terrorist attacks against Jews, desecration of synagogues and destruction of cemeteries. In addition, it cites anti-Semitic rhetoric, conspiracy theories, and other propaganda.

While the report notes that traditional forms of anti-Semitism continue to be found across the globe, “anti-Semitism has proven to be an adaptive phenomenon.”

The new forms often incorporate elements of traditional anti-Semitism, but “the distinguishing feature of the new anti-Semitism is criticism of Zionism or Israeli policy that – whether intentionally or unintentionally – has the effect of promoting prejudice against all Jews by demonizing Israel and Israelis and attributing Israel’s perceived faults to its Jewish character.”

While this new anti-Semitism is “common throughout the Middle East and in Muslim communities in Europe,” it is not confined to these populations, the report finds.

The document’s introduction singles out Iran and Syria for their demonization of Jews, and adds, “Venezuela’s government-sponsored mass media have become vehicles for anti-Semitic discourse, as have government news media in Saudi Arabia and Egypt.”

It names Britain, France and Germany as European countries where “anti-Semitic violence remains a significant concern,” but also lists other Western nations as experiencing recent increases, including Argentina, Australia and Canada.

Perpetrators cause chaos in Pattani

(BangkokPost.com) – The violence continues in Pattani province following Saturday’s explosion at the car park of CS Pattani hotel.

Authorities reported that one firefighter was killed in an arson attack on a school in Sai Buri district while there were seven injuries.

The dead man was identified as Surasak Boonyarattanasuan.

The perpetrators also burned public phone booths and car tyres, placed metal spikes on route 42 and blocked parts of the route with felled trees. Several suspicious objects designed to heighten fear amongst locals and to create chaos for security officials were also placed across the province.

U.N. tells Serbia to quit interfering in Kosovo

PRISTINA (Reuters) – U.N. authorities in Kosovo told Serbia on Wednesday to stop interfering in Serb areas of the new state, where a Serb boycott has fuelled speculation Belgrade is trying to partition the territory.

The U.N. mission called on Serbia to respect its mandate in the former Serbian province, where the 90-percent Albanian majority declared independence with Western-backing last month.

It said Serbia should cooperate in re-establishing customs points on Kosovo’s northern border, which were burned down by Serb mobs, allow Serb police officers to return to work and stop strengthening Belgrade-financed “parallel structures” in health, education, courts and administration.

“If Belgrade says publicly that (U.N. Security Council Resolution) 1244 should be respected, we expect them to put their money where their mouth is,” U.N. mission spokesman Alexander Ivanko told a news conference.

“We are trying to re-establish the courts, we are trying to re-establish the customs,” he said. “This will take time, it will not happen tomorrow.”

Kosovo declared independence on Feb 17, nine years after NATO bombed to drive out Serbian forces and halt the killing and ethnic cleansing of Albanians in a two-year Serbian counter-insurgency war.

Backed by big-power ally Russia, Serbia has rejected the secession and is instructing the 120,000 remaining Serbs to do the same, deepening an ethnic divide that almost nine years of international administration since the war has failed to tackle.

Oric’s Hague Acquittal Enrages Serbia

 

03 July 2008 Belgrade _ Serbia has condemned a decision by The Hague Tribunal to acquit Srebrenica Army Chief Naser Oric, saying it is “another serious blow to international justice.”

But the verdict will not have effect on Serbia’s further cooperation with the tribunal, some politicians vowed.

Serbia’s National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, ICTY, based in The Hague, added in a statement that it would be difficult to explain to anyone in Serbia that the tribunal does not have “double criteria” in deciding on command responsibility.

Earlier on Thursday, the Appeals Chamber acquitted Oric, a former commander of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Srebrenica, of crimes during 1992 and 1993 because judges ruled the first trial failed to prove he had control over his men. “Though we have restrained from commenting on the tribunal’s rulings so far, we have to say that this one cannot contribute to either achieving justice and truth or to regional reconciliation which is one of the basic intentions of the ICTY,” the Council’s statement said.

Bruno Vekaric, the spokesman for the Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor, agreed, adding that Oric’s acquittal “will only strengthen those who anyway believe in (the tribunal’s) selective justice.”

He did not want to go into the details of the verdict but said that it was proven beyond doubt that “terrible crimes were committed against the Serbs in the town.”

Former Serbian Justice Minister Vladan Batic also said that those who criticised the tribunal would now have more material, adding “such a verdict leaves a bitter taste.”

“People Who Vote Wilders Must Die”

A Moroccan youth group from Delft in the Netherlands, calling themselves “Scheme 015 Delftse Samenzwering Shit,” [samenzwering means conspiracy] has posted a video clip threatening to kill voters and sympathizers of Dutch politician Geert Wilders. The clip shows a group of Moroccans youths provoking two Dutch lads on a crowded public train. The hooded Moroccans ask the lads, who are dressed in black, what the badges on their clothes mean. At first the lads do not react. When the Moroccans start pulling at the lads’ clothes the latter ask to be left alone. At this the Moroccans grab them from their seats and beat them up.

* Update: Show your film in parliament, MPs tell Wilders

Socialist, Liberal, GroenLinks and D66 MPs would not object to Geert Wilders’ showing his anti-Koran film in the parliament building itself, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.

Wilders has dropped plans for a formal launch in the nearby press centre because of the security costs.

‘A lack of money should not stop an MP doing his job,’ GroenLinks leader Femke Halsema was quoted as saying.

D66 leader Alexander Pechtold said the government should pay the security costs. ‘If he wants to do it in parliament itself, he can count on my support,’ Pechtold told the paper.

Wilders has not made a request to use the parliamentary facilities and refused to explain his reasoning.

Belgian-Moroccan terror suspect Abdelkader Belliraj from Evergem smuggled weapons to Morocco in coffins of deceased Muslims, according to ‘well informed’ sources. A brilliant idea to transfer forbidden objects, since closed caskets are not opened.

* Just curious: He smuggled weapons to Morocco? One would have thought the other way around would be easier. Does that mean weapons are easier to come by in Belgium?

Note that the usual NGOs have been lamenting the fact that “conditions in Gaza are worse than at any time since 1967.”

Think about that. What that means is that the conditions in Gaza were terrible under Egyptian rule, and then, once the Israelis took over in 1967, steadily improved as long as Israel was in control, and then, now that Israel has been entirely out of Gaza (so much for this “occupation” the local Arabs in Gaza keep screaming about — they mean, of course, Israel itself is occupied by Jews, and that simply, to them, isn’t right), conditions have again, under Arab rule, slowly degenerated. They have degenerated to the extent that conditions of life now approach, despite Israel turning over intact much-improved infrastructure, and those greenhouses that were promptly looted and destroyed by the “Palestinians,” and the billions in aid money received from Infidels (strangely, nothing substantial appears to come from fellow members of the Umma), what they were the last time Arabs were in control.

And yet these British NGOs dare to suggest that this is Israel’s fault? What nonsense people are allowed to get away with, if no one calls them to account. NGOs have come a long and very dismal way since the dreams of Rene Cassin.

Al-Jizzeera slams Israeli boycott as ‘attack on freedom of expression’

The Foreign Ministry’s decision on Wednesday to boycott Al-Jazeera stemmed from government outrage at the network’s coverage of Israel Defense Forces operations in Gaza, which the ministry said constituted incitement to terror.

The Qatari-based TV network’s Jerusalem bureau denounced the decision as anti-democratic and an attack on the freedom of expression.
