German Muslims angry at “anti-foreigner” campaign

BERLIN (Reuters) – German Muslim groups on Wednesday accused a senior politician in Chancellor Angela Merkel’s conservative party of stirring up hostility against foreigners in a bid to win a regional election.

Roland Koch of the Christian Democrats (CDU) has focused his campaign for re-election as premier of the prosperous western state of Hesse on crime, in particular offences by foreigners.

He reacted to an assault on a German pensioner by two youths — one Greek, one Turkish — in a Munich railway station by saying Germany had too many young foreign criminals and urging an end to “multicultural” coddling of immigrants.

The assailants shouted “Shit German” at the man before kicking him in the head. The brutal attack, caught on a surveillance camera and played repeatedly on German television in recent days, prompted calls for tougher sentencing, boot camps and even the deportation of criminals of foreign origins.

“The debate is shameful and scandalous,” head of the TGD Turkish Communities in Germany Kenan Kolat told Reuters on Wednesday, saying the deportation issue was “political arson”.

“This is pure populism,” he said, urging Merkel to speak out against it.

Germany is home to about 15 million people with an immigrant background — about 18 percent of the population — and Merkel has talked often about the need to integrate the country’s 3.2 million Muslims, most of whom are of Turkish origin.

But she says immigrants must accept German culture and won rapturous applause at a conference of her mostly Roman Catholic party last month for saying mosques should not dwarf churches.

THIS has been a bad year for Orhan Ant. As a Protestant missionary in Samsun, on the Black Sea, he has had death threats and his church has been repeatedly stoned. Local newspapers called him a foreign agent. A group of youths tried to kidnap him as he was driving home. His pleas for police protection have gone unheeded.

Mr Ant is not alone. All over Turkey, Christians are under attack. In January Hrant Dink, an ethnic Armenian newspaper editor, was shot dead in Istanbul by a teenager who said he had “insulted Turkishness”. In April two Turks and a German, all evangelists, were murdered in Malatya. Their killers bound and tortured them before slitting their throats. In December an Italian Catholic priest was knifed by a teenager in Izmir. Another Italian priest was shot dead in Trabzon in 2006.

The prime minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, resists calls to reopen the Greek Orthodox Halki seminary on Heybeli island off Istanbul, shut down in 1971. Turkey refuses to recognise the ecumenical title of the Greek Orthodox patriarch, Bartholomew I, the spiritual leader of over 200m Orthodox Christians. The patriarch, a loyal Turkish citizen, has lobbied hard for Turkey’s EU membership. But this has only reinforced suspicions among ultra-nationalist detractors, who accuse him of trying to “Christianise” Turkey and wanting a Vatican-style state in the heart of Istanbul.

Never mind that the Greek Orthodox church in Istanbul has dwindled to 4,000 souls, many of them too old to follow their children abroad. Nor that the patriarch must under Turkish law be a Turkish citizen, a rule which is making it difficult to find a successor to Bartholomew I. “They [ie, the Turks] apparently won’t regard the conquest of Constantinople as complete until the patriarchate ceases to exist and all Christians have been frightened away,” suggests one restorer of icons in Istanbul.

The government has yet to approve a draft bill to help non-Muslims recover thousands of properties that have been confiscated by the state and either sold or left to decay. The Aya Yorgi church in Istanbul’s Edirnekapi district, which was badly damaged in an earthquake, is one sad example. Its walls are cracked, its roof is leaking; a marble angel lies in pieces on the floor. “All we ask is to be permitted to rescue our church, but we cannot hammer a single nail,” complains Bishop Dionysios, a Greek Orthodox prelate who still conducts services there.

And thousands more girls are at imminent risk as families club together to fly professional “cutters” from Africa to Britain.

These women “elders” perform the crude operation for up to £40 a time, often on kitchen tables or floors, without anaesthetic, using filthy, blunt knives, razor blades or scalpels.[…]

Sheikh Muhammad Sayyed Tantawi of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University has called circumcision “a laudable practice that did honor to women.”

But the Daily Mail either doesn’t know or doesn’t care to know about such Islamic justifications for this practice. Yet as long as they remain unconfronted, this barbarity will continue.

peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but
Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.The average
Japanese individual prior to World War ll was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan
murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that
included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilian s; most killed by sword,
shovel, and bayonet. And, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery.
Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason we
often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have
been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if
they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day
and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have
begun.Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs,
Afghan is, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have
died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.

As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts: the
fanatics who threaten our way of life. Lastly, at the risk of offending, anyone who doubts
that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems of expand. So, extend yourself a bit and
send this on and on and on! Let us hope that thousands, world wide, read this – think
about it – and send it on.

There is a new Jewish “counter-myth” that claims that Islam has persecuted Jews from its origins and that anti-Semitism is endemic in the religion. This counter-myth has been propagated by Jewish writers in the Diaspora especially since the 1970s. It parallels a similar conviction among some Oriental Jews in Israel. Seeking to find their place in a predominantly European Jewish world scarred by centuries of Christian persecutions culminating in the Holocaust, they claim that Islam has persecuted Jews from its origins. By implication, they have a past of suffering like the Ashkenazim, including dislocation from their ancient homelands, and are thus eligible for a larger piece of the Zionist pie than the mostly Ashkenazic founding fathers of Israel have granted them.

‘Sudden jihad syndrome’ poses domestic risk

Sympathy for al Qaeda has produced “sudden jihad syndrome” in domestic terror cells unaffiliated with foreign terrorists and people seeking to carry out attacks in the U.S., a law-enforcement intelligence analysis says.

The Dec. 6 report by the Texas Public Safety Department’s Bureau of Information Analysis warns officials not to dismiss individual or homegrown terror cells as “wannabes,” saying they pose a credible threat to homeland security.

“Oftentimes, these attackers are dismissed as suffering from mental health issues, but their own words and writings reveal an affiliation with Islamic supremacy or an affinity for Islamic extremism,” said the report, which was distributed to federal, state and local law enforcement in Texas. “As a result, law enforcement should not be too quick to judge their attacks as having no nexus to terrorism.”

It said they might act with the intention of eventually joining al Qaeda or the jihad movement overseas.

The report, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Times, cited al Qaeda theorist Abu Mu’ab al Suri’s book “Call to Global Islamic Resistance,” in which Mu’ab al Suri noted that the future of al Qaeda terrorist fighters will depend on individual and small-group terrorists.

The intelligence analysis says homegrown groups are not purely “domestic,” as their ideology is similar if not exactly like those of international terrorist groups, and cited examples such as the “Lackawanna Six.” The six Yemeni-Americans who traveled to Afghan-istan before the September 11 terrorist attacks and attended the al Farooq terrorist training camp pleaded guilty to terrorism-related charges.

It also cited the “Liberty City Seven” terrorist cell of Miami that planned to use explosives to bring down the Sears Tower in Chicago and then blow up the FBI field office in Miami. The group members were all U.S. citizens who adopted a global jihadist strategy.

The report includes several examples of people with “sudden jihad syndromes,” such as Ali R. Warrayat, a Palestinian-Jordanian Muslim who drove his car into an Arizona Home Depot with the purpose of destroying the store and those inside it. The suspect said he would wear a Palestine flag but later decided to place the flag and a copy of the Koran inside his trunk.

Supporters of slain Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto hold candles in Lahore January 1, 2008. Pakistan plans to postpone next week’s election after Bhutto’s killing sparked turmoil in the nuclear-armed …

Ms. Bhutto had not yet received a proper burial before the attacks on her character started appearing. The vice-president of the Canadian Arab Federation circulated an article lambasting Ms. Bhutto, mocking her as stooge of the West. It did not end at that level. Haroon Siddiqui of the Toronto Star dedicated an entire column to attacking Ms. Bhutto’s legacy and labelling her as corrupt and, God forbid the thought, pro-West. As if her being pro-Western was somehow anti-Canadian.

If attempts by Islamic writers to disparage Benazir Bhutto were distasteful, the conspicuous silence of Canada’s Islamic organizations was equally disturbing. Seventy-two hours after the news of her assassination, neither the Canadian Islamic Congress nor its cousin CAIR-Can had uttered a word on the subject. Not even the “This-has-nothing-to-do-with-Islam” mantra to which we have become so accustomed. Were they looking for clues from Arab capitals or Iran? There, too, was an eerie silence. Men in turbans who rule Saudi Arabia and Iran seemed to be relieved that a jihadi terrorist had stopped a woman from becoming a leader of Muslim nation. Phew! We asked a number of our Arab friends to explain the wall of silence that has greeted Benazir’s murder in the Arab world. Most admired her and were themselves perplexed at the silence, but one woman writing from the Arab world said:

“You have to understand the state of the Arab world at the moment. Extremism and ‘Political Islamism’ is spreading among the masses like fire among wood. Bhutto’s position against the extremists was always clear, and this [is] reflected in the Arab world now, as most approved of her death and considered it a religious obligation to rid her from the Islamic world.”

He talked in convoluted language expressing “condolences to families of beloved brothers and sisters who died in the incident.” When asked by a Toronto Star reporter why he had deliberately avoided mentioning Ms. Bhutto’s name, the imam snapped back: “Why? This is not a political arena. This is about religion. That’s politics.” How convenient.

At other mosques, the story was the same. Not a word about Benazir Bhutto. Reporters at one mosque seemed bewildered and asked why her name was not being mentioned. What no one was willing to tell them is that perhaps the imams consider the words “Benazir Bhutto” unclean and unIslamic. After all, she had vowed to take on the Islamic extremists and hence she was an adversary; the mere mention of her name may pollute the sanctity of the mosque.

ORONTO — A Muslim group is suing Canada’s leading national newsweekly for the right of rebuttal because it published excerpts warning of high Muslim birthrates in the book “America Alone,” by syndicated columnist Mark Steyn.

The Canadian Islamic Congress filed complaints last month against Maclean’s magazine with Canada’s national human rights commission and provincial rights commissions in Ontario and British Columbia, charging that Mr. Steyn’s writings promote hatred and contempt against Canada’s estimated 750,000 Muslims.

The commission in British Columbia accepted the case and has scheduled a hearing for early June.

Mr. Steyn, whose syndicated columns appear in The Washington Times, writes that rising birthrates in Muslim countries and the declining number of babies in Christian and Westernized countries represent a long-term security threat.

Mr. Steyn, in the excerpts used by Maclean’s, compared Muslims to Indians in the Old West infiltrating “the white cities” and suggested many Muslims are “hot for jihad” and favor a “bloody” war against the West.

The U.S. magazine Human Events published its own account of the Maclean’s article, highlighting this passage:

“There are signs that Allah will grant Islam victory in Europe — without swords, without guns, without conquests. The 50 million Muslims of Europe will turn it into a Muslim continent within a few decades.”

TWO British oil workers have been sacked after simulating sex with sheep due to be slaughtered for a Muslim festival.

The animals were being killed for 30 foreign workers to celebrate Eid Al Adhha in the Algerian oil town Hassi Messaoud.

The men, who have not been named, were reported by stunned restaurant workers and guards — then sacked by their employer, US industrial giant Schlumberger.

They were accused of “sheep violation”.

A spokesman for the company — which provides services to oil firms — said: “The individuals have been dismissed because their behaviour was totally unacceptable.”

A group of Moroccans smashed up police cars and attacked a police station in Amsterdam. The youth caused a great deal of damage, but were not apprehended.

A group of several dozen youth attacked the police station in Slotervaart at the turn of the year. They smashed up three police cars, including one surveillance car and two civilian cars. Windows in the station were smashed as well.

The riot police was called in, but was not put into action. For the time being, the police has not apprehended anybody.

In October, Moroccan Bilal B (22) was shot dead by a police agent in the same police department after he attacked her and a colleague with a knife. For several weeks later there were riots in the neighborhood and various card set afire.

Amsterdam (2 January) – Amsterdam Mayor Job Cohen says the authorities have failed in their dealings with problematic youths; so far there has been no decrease in violence. The mayor says co-ordination between the various social services leaves much to be desired.

Many low-income families have too many, for-the-most-part ineffective, social workers. Mr Cohen also pointed to the gap between the poorer neighbourhoods on the periphery of Amsterdam and the upscale canal zone in the centre.

MPs to voice concerns over faith schools

MPs will next week raise serious concerns about the government’s faith schools programme.
The Commons children, schools and families select committee will grill the schools secretary, Ed Balls, at a meeting on January 9 about the government’s plans to allow local authorities to open as many faith schools as they want.

Members are concerned the plans will damage social cohesion and widen existing divisions.

The committee’s chairman, Barry Sheerman, said: “Faith schools are an important area of concern. This is something the government should look at in a focused way, rather than drifting into the proliferation of faith education.

“I am getting reports from people in local government who find it difficult to know what is going on in some faith schools – particularly Muslim schools.”

He said there was concern in local government about its ability to find out how well an important part of community was being served by its education provision.

“Will we find out that young people in certain kinds of faith school, and particularly young women, are not getting the provision or education that they deserve?”

Islamists ultimately seek hegemonic control via a worldwide caliphate that applies the Islamic law in full. Afghanistan under the Taliban offers one model of what they would establish globally.

Terrorism is one method to advance these projects but it is not the only one. Indeed, the activities of nonviolent Islamists arguably will prove a more effective tactic in the long term. For while the public intuitively understands the threat of terrorism and is mobilized by it, and while states have well-developed institutions (law enforcement, intelligence agencies, the military, the justice system) to protect and fight against it, the activities of nonviolent extremists are not alarming and institutions do not exist to deal with this problem. And how can terrorists impose their will on whole societies?

* Millions of adherents of the Muhammedan belief-system, who have settled in the West, as a fifth column behind enemy lines, constantly busy themselves pulling the Islamic wool over infidel eyes and ears. So called ‘Interfaith dialogues’ are used to do da’awa, proselytizing for Muhammedanism that finds gullible victims among naive Westerners who are unable to cope with secular freedom, seeking a complete regulation of every aspect of life instead. Our own governments are playing along, deceiving us, acting stupid in the face of our sworn enemy, ‘because all faith’s are equal’- we must not discriminate. And so the Muhammedan invasion continues, like the building of mosques and madrassah’s continues, while churches and temples of worship in Islamic countries are burned to the ground, Christians and Hindu’s firebombed and the Buddhists in Southern Thailand murdered daily.

The interfaith organisations must be thrown out of Muslim lands; they must be boycotted, isolated and sent into exile. Those who call for it must be cut from their roots, so that their beliefs are confined to their own hearts. We must not permit any of the slogans of interfaith to reach the public arena. It is compulsory for the Muslims to establish the Islamic state and appoint an international khaleefah, who will establish the Hudood of apostasy for the one who believes in interfaith. We must call for the Hudood as protection for the sanctity of the Deen of Allah, as discipline for those who want to play with the Deen of Allah, as obedience to Allah (SWT) and His Messenger and in order for the pure Sharee’ah to prevail, i.e. the pure Deen of Allah.

Verily, the Jews and Christians have received the interfaith theory and verily they are eligible to it and deserve it, because they do not refer to the True Religion, their deen is full of distortion and their religion is false. Their deen is either false, distorted or contains some remnants of truth that are abrogated by Islam in any case.

As far as Muslims are concerned it is not allowed for them to have anything to do with the call and theory of interfaith whatsoever, because the Muslims belong to a divine belief, a message of absolute truth which is a whole and complete belief in its basis and is justice and a mercy for mankind. Let every Muslim know the reality of interfaith, that it has a philosophical inclination and upbringing, its objectives are atheist, but it appears in a religious uniform in order to mislead, distort and destroy the belief of Muslims in order to apostatize them. Interfaith targets Islam and the Muslims wherever they are and it manifests itself in the following points:

1. The distortion of Islam, in order to establish confusion. It challenges Islam with a list of doubts and conjectures, in order that Muslims live with a confused soul full of rejection and not a soul with tranquillity and security.

2. It aims to counteract the Islamic revival and the Islamic groups.

3. It attacks Islam in its own basis, targeting to demolish Islam and affecting Muslims by removing Eemaan from their hearts and by burying it.

4. It aims to demolish the Islamic bond between the Muslims and replace it with religious brotherhood, i.e. the brotherhood of the Jews and the Christians.

5. It censors Muslim writers and cuts their tongues from making takfeer against the Jews, the Christians and others whom Allah (SWT) and His Messenger Muhammad (SAW) declared Kuffaar (unbelievers), if they do not declare Islam and become Muslims.

6. It targets to invalidate the Islamic rule regarding apostasy, which obliges Muslims to stick to Islam and not to embrace Christianity, Judaism or any other belief. It invalidates capital punishment for apostasy.

7. It targets to make Muslims give up the head of the spear of Islam, al-Jihaad fee Sabeellilaah, because it includes jihaad against People of the Book, for Allah (SWT) says:

قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلا بِالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَلا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتَّى يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ

Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the People of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. (EMQ at-Tawbah, 9:29)

Verily, jihaad against the Kuffaar, the enemies of Allah, puts fear in their hearts and terrifies them; this will give Islam victory, humiliate its enemy and put happiness into the hearts of believers, for Allah (SWT) says:

وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ وَمِنْ رِبَاطِ الْخَيْلِ تُرْهِبُونَ بِهِ عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ وَعَدُوَّكُمْ وَآخَرِينَ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ لا تَعْلَمُونَهُمُ اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُهُمْ وَمَ

تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ يُوَفَّ إِلَيْكُمْ وَأَنْتُمْ لا تُظْلَمُونَ

And make ready against them all you can of power, including steeds of war (tanks, planes, missiles, artillery, etc.) to terrorise the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides whom, you may not know but whom Allah does know. And whatever you shall spend in the Cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you, and you shall not be treated unjustly. (EMQ al-Anfaal, 8:60)

It is very strange how Muslims have given up the obligation of preparing for jihaad.

How Muhammad deceived his followers:

The Qur’an says that this promise of Paradise to those who kill and are killed for Allah is also in the Torah and Gospel, but it isn’t –.…which is in itself more evidence for pious Muslims that those documents have been tampered with. Muslims claim the Bible and Torah have ‘been corrupted’

‘Historic’ Christian-Muslim meeting planned for this spring at the Vatican

VATICAN CITY – The Vatican plans to host a historic meeting this spring where Christians and Muslims can discuss their differences.
The idea for the gathering is to start a dialogue between the faiths after relations were soured by Pope Benedict’s 2006 comments about Islam and holy war.
Vatican officials say the pontiff proposed the encounter as his official response to an open letter addressed to him and other Christian leaders in October by 138 Muslim scholars from around the world.
