Ahmadinejad Threatens Israel with Destruction (again)

AS IRAN ENRICHES URANIUM

Iran’s president is at it again, threatening Israel with destruction should it intervene in Lebanon again. The bellicosity comes as the UN nuclear watchdog warns that Iran may be as little as three years away from a nuclear weapon.

It’s hardly surprising any more when Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad threatens Israel with destruction. It wasn’t so long ago that he suggested the country be moved to Alaska. Or just wiped off the map.
But in a Thursday speech at Isfahan broadcast on state television, he issued a threat more direct than any that had come before. If Israel, he said, were to go to war against Lebanon again this summer, it would be destroyed.

“If this year you repeat the same mistake of the last year,” the Iranian president intoned, “the ocean of nations of the region will get angry and will cut the root of the Zionist regime from its stem.”

The speech came just hours after a report by the UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), warning that Iran’s ongoing enrichment of uranium meant that the country could have a nuclear bomb within three to eight years.

The IAEA report just came in time for the UN Security Council to impose a third round of sanctions on Tehran for its lack of transparency in what Iranian leaders insist is a peaceful nuclear program. Ahmadinejad flaunted the threat of sanctions in his Thursday speech. “The enemy wants Iran to surrender so it won’t have any say in the world,” he told a gathering of Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards. “If we stop (the nuclear program) for a while, they (Iran’s enemies) will achieve their goals.”

ahmadinejad.jpg

In his speech, Ahmadinejad also referenced recent violence in the Gaza strip. “If you think that by bombing and assassinating Palestinian leaders,” he said addressing Israel, “you are preparing ground for new attacks on Lebanon in the summer, I am telling you that you are seriously wrong.”

He went on to reference Israeli history. “Sixty years of invasion and assassination are enough. If you do not cease invasion and massacre, soon the hand of power of the nations of the region will rub you criminals with Earth,” he said.

Israeli experts have been talking for months about the possibility of another war with Lebanon this summer, but it was seen as unlikely because last July’s conflict with Hezbollah was so inconclusive.

‘Comprehensive Dialogue’

Thursday’s IAEA report mentioned diagrams in Iran’s possession — among other suspicious documents — showing how to shape uranium so it would fit into warheads. Otherwise it was brief, and noted for the first time that the IAEA’s understanding of some aspects of Iran’s nuclear program was “deteriorating.”

The IAEA’s chief, Mohamed ElBaradei, said it was probably too late to force Iran to freeze enrichment. He suggested Iran should be allowed to keep some elements of its enrichment program and recommended “a comprehensive dialogue” as a way to keep Tehran from joining the nuclear-weapons club.

* Mohammed El Baradei clearly failed in his duty to warn the world in time. He should have been sacked way back when his incompetence showed that he is not up to the job.

On Monday, US and Iranian diplomats are scheduled to hold direct talks in Baghdad on how to stabilize Iraq. Nuclear weapons won’t be part of the talks officially, and in the meantime the Pentagon has sent two aircraft carriers and seven other warships to the Persian Gulf as a show of force. Iran has also detained at least two prominent American-Iranian citizens.
ElBaradei on Thursday advised the US to tone down its rhetoric against Iran. But an under secretary of state for policy in Washington, R. Nicholas Burns, spoke freely to the Associated Press. “Iran is out of compliance,” he said. “Iran is thumbing its nose at the international community. We’re not going to accept limited enrichment, not going to accept that 1,300 centrifuges (in Iran) can continue to spin.”

UN Security Council consultations on new sanctions were likely within days, according to AP.

Thailand Hires Assassin As Security Adviser

Long overdue, but better late than never:

* Thailand’s government, installed by military coup, seems to be realizing after more than 2,000 murders that their policy of appeasing the jihadis in the south isn’t working. So here’s a wakeup call to the “insurgents:” Thai generals ask former assassin to be security adviser.

Via LGF

BANGKOK: Frustrated by their inability to pacify a Muslim insurgency and concerned about rising impatience toward their rule, Thailand’s generals have named a former commando and self-described assassin as their top security adviser.

The appointment this month of Pallop Pinmanee, a retired general notorious for his harsh tactics but admired for his survival instincts, appears to be an acknowledgement that the military-backed government’s conciliatory approach toward Muslim insurgents in southern Thailand has failed.

“The way to solve the problem in the south is to get the people on your side,” Pallop said in an interview this week. But if the violence continues, he said, the military should carry out “search and destroy” missions against the insurgents. “If we cannot make them surrender, then we have no choice – we have to destroy them.”

* Yes, but what will Gen. Sondhi Boonyaratkalin, the Muslim who putsched himself to power last year, do about it?

Assassinate the assassin?

Israel: Airstrikes against Hamas Terror

Five killed in IAF strikes on Hamas

By YAAKOV KATZ, JPOST STAFF AND AP

Israel unleashed five air strikes on Hamas targets a few minutes apart Saturday, killing four Hamas terrorists and wounding at least 30, some seriously, according to Army Radio.

One man, seriously wounded in the attack, died later in hospital, bringing the death toll up to five.

The first strike hit a Hamas installation in Gaza City’s Zeitoun neighborhood, where wounded Palestinians were being pulled from the rubble of a destroyed building. All the wounded were members of Hamas’s security forces and as of Saturday afternoon all structures belonging to Hamas’s security forces in Gaza were completely destroyed as a result of IAF strikes.

Another air strike hit a Hamas training camp on the outskirts of Shati refugee camp. There were no reports of casualties. Minutes later, a third strike hit a Hamas installation in the southern town of Rafah, security officials said. The area was hit a few days before, and the officials didn’t know of any casualties.

A fourth strike targeted a Hamas training base in a former Jewish settlement near the southern town of Khan Younis. The latest strikes, including one on a key Hamas compound, brought to 11 the number of targeted missile attacks Saturday.

Update:

Terror Attack in East Jerusalem

The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, terrorist wing of Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas’ “moderate” Fatah party, has perpetrated a sneak attack against Israeli border guards in East Jerusalem: 4 injured in J’lem shooting attack; 2 gunmen killed.

Two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at border patrol police in east Jerusalem late Saturday, injuring four, police said. Israeli border police at the scene fired at the attackers, killing both of them. Emergency services said four Israelis were injured and evacuated to hospital, one of whom was in serious condition. The shooting took place in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheik Said, near the security fence. Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said the two Palestinian gunmen opened fire at a joint patrol of Israeli border police and civilian guards along the barrier. Channel 10 reported that the patrol was ambushed by the Palestinian shooters. An offshoot of the violent Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, which is affiliated with the Fatah Party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, claimed responsibility for the shooting attack, according to the Palestinian news Web site Maan.

Air strikes means Car Swarm, as usual: Fun for the whole family!

Another IAF airstrike against another car full of terrorists in Gaza leads to another car swarm—and another round of bizarre, out-of-sync wire service photo captions about “inspecting” and “gathering around” the bombed-out cars full of martyr bits.

PRISTINA, Serbia, May 24 Kosovo’s ethnic-Albanians are to erect a statue of Willy Clinton in the provincial capital of Pristina in gratitude to the former U.S. president.

Sculptor Izeir Mustafa said he was thrilled when assigned to work on the 10-foot tall statue because he is aware that Willy saved Kosovo Albanians from extermination when Serbian forces launched a military campaign in 1999 against ethnic-Albanian separatist guerrillas,

The Telegraph online daily reported Thursday.
Mustafa told the British daily Willy “is our savior.

“Willy was the U.S. president when NATO’s air bombardments stopped Serbian police and military forces and drove them out of Kosovo. Western officials estimated about 10,000 ethnic-Albanians were killed and another 800,000 were driven out of Kosovo by Serbian forces.

Formally, Kosovo is still a Serbian province but since 1999 U.N. administrators and NATO troops have been deployed in Kosovo to contain ethnic conflicts between 1.6 million ethnic-Albanians and 100,000 Serbs. The issue of Kosovo independence is now before the United Nations.

Pristina town authorities plan to place the bronze statue on Willy Boulevard in the coming months.”

He also gets a boulevard named after him!

* Willie Clinton will be remembered in the annals of history as a great friend of Islam, no doubt.

More proof that far left lunatics are nothing but Nazi’s and attention seekers:

A SYDNEY council’s proposal to build a sister-city relationship with the Palestinian town of Hebron has triggered outrage among Sydney’s Jewish community and accusations of “gross abuse” of ratepayer trust.
Leichhardt City Council, in Sydney’s inner west, approved a motion last month by Labor Mayor Alice Murphy to investigate a friendship or sister-city relationship with Hebron, which is governed by the Palestinian Authority, following representations from a local peace group.

“Do they know who’s on Hebron council?” Mr Newhouse said. “Do they know who runs that place? And what protections are in place to ensure the council isn’t dealing with people with blood on their hands?”

Vic Alhadeff, from the Jewish Board of Deputies, said the council had been led astray by a hard Left group and had no business getting involved in the global arena in a partisan political way.

And Paddy McGuinness, a former Leichhardt councillor and editor of the conservative magazine Quadrant, was even more blunt. “They’re wankers,” he said. “It’s the usual inner-city Left loonies. They’re silly and of course they’re anti-Semitic.”

Camp ‘infiltrated’ by extremists

Martin Chulov, The Australian Middle East correspondent in Tripoli

PALESTINIANS who fled their refugee camp as Islamists battled the Lebanese army have described how foreign Arabs infiltrated their communities, at first claiming to be aligned to a recognised group.
From a squalid schoolyard inside a nearby camp, in which thousands of refugees are seeking shelter, three men told The Weekend Australian of a trojan horse operation they said was launched last November by Fatah al-Islam militants.

“They were Arabs from outside,” said Abu Ahmad, whose home in the Nahr al-Barad refugee camp was levelled on Monday by Lebanese army artillery shells.

“There were some Lebanese among them, but mostly they were Iraqis, Syrians, Moroccans, Algerians and even Turks.

“Of the 300 men they claimed to have, only about five were Palestinian. When they arrived last November, they said they were from Fatah al-Intifada” — the Syrian-aligned pro-Palestinian group that was instrumental in forcing former PLO leader Yassir Arafat to leave Lebanon in 1983.

“But one day earlier this year, they handed out leaflets and raised a flag above the mosque,” said a second man, who identified himself as Khalil.

“From that day they said they were Fatah al-Islam, and they threw the people out of the Fatah al-Intifada offices.”

By then, we knew their main cause was NOT Palestinian,” said a third man, Abu Mohammed. “But they were good to the families and they kept to themselves within three communities inside the camp. There was nothing we could do.”

* Sure. ‘Nothing we could do’- sez Abu Mohammed.

Then why should WE do anything about it?

More than half of Nahr al-Barad’s refugee population had fled to the nearby Beddawi camp by late yesterday as skirmishes between the trapped militants and the surrounding Lebanese army troops intensified.

fatah-al-islam-terrorists.jpg

Now tell us: What does this asshole look like to YOU???

Fatah al-Islam spokesman Salim Abu Tahar insisted the remaining insurgents were preparing to die, and said they had enough men to cause serious army casualties.

Most Palestinian factions have distanced themselves from the militant group.

“We have nothing at all to do with those they call Fatah al-Islam,” Palestinian President and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas told a press conference in Gaza City. “We do not approve of the actions by this group.”

At least 69 militants and soldiers are known to have died in the fighting. But Palestinians at Beddawi camp insist dozens more civilians remain trapped or dead under the rubble of communities destroyed by three days of army shelling this week. Up to 30 Palestinian civilians remain in hospitals in Beddawi town, most suffering from gunshot and shrapnel wounds.

The Lebanese Government has ordered the military to finish off the rebels in the Nahr al-Barad camp, saying they are linked to al-Qa’ida.

Syria has denied claims it is backing Fatah al-Islam to destabilise Lebanon’s anti-Syrian and Western-backed Government.

Two large US military transport planes landed at Beirut airport yesterday bringing supplies to aid the Lebanese army, security officials said.

* So what was their cause?

‘Grievances? Oppression?’ Could is be…

NO: You don’t say! The global Jihad???

An explicitly religious appeal. “Qaeda vows ‘seas of blood’ over Lebanon Palestinians,” from Reuters, via Jihad Watch

DUBAI, May 25 (Reuters) – A group calling itself al Qaeda’s wing in the Levant vowed to carry out bombings in Lebanon and attacks on Christians unless Beirut pulled its army away from Palestinian refugee camps.
“We warn you for the last time, after which there will be nothing apart from seas of blood,” said a speaker identified as the military leader of the group in a video posted on Friday by a media arm used by Islamist groups including Qaeda in Iraq.

“What we want is that you order the Christian Lebanese army to pull its men from around all Palestinian camps and the Nahr al-Bared Camp in particular,” he said addressing Maronite Christian Partiarch Cadrinal Nasrallah Sfeir.

“If you do not stop we will wrench out your hearts with … bombs,” said the speaker whose face was covered with a chequered head dress and who had rifle magazines around his torso….

The speaker described the army’s campaign as a “brutal … crusade under the pretext of fighting terrorism” and argued that Palestinians in Lebanon have always suffered discrimination….

Addressing Sfeir, the militant said: “Leash your dogs away from our kin and stop the fire of your canons, or else… No crusader will be safe in Lebanon after today. As you hit you will be hit.”…

“We welcome a battle, and do not be fooled by the support of apostate Arabs to you,” the militant said.

Torture v/s Torture

Media Totally Ignore Al Qaeda Torture Manual

Real torture vs the perceived ‘torture’ of US prisoners in Abu Ghraib and Gitmo:

torture.jpg

Eye Removal:

torture002.jpg

Here’s more evidence that US media are failing to convey information to the public that doesn’t fit their script; the sickening Al Qaeda torture manual we noted yesterday was totally ignored by every mainstream media outlet except Fox News.

MAY 24—In a recent raid on an al-Qaeda safe house in Iraq, U.S. military officials recovered an assortment of crude drawings depicting torture methods like “blowtorch to the skin” and “eye removal.” Along with the images, which you’ll find on the following pages, soldiers seized various torture implements, like meat cleavers, whips, and wire cutters. Photos of those items can be seen here. The images, which were just declassified by the Department of Defense, also include a picture of a ramshackle Baghdad safe house described as an “al-Qaeda torture chamber.” It was there, during an April 24 raid, that soldiers found a man suspended from the ceiling by a chain. According to the military, he had been abducted from his job and was being beaten daily by his captors. In a raid earlier this week, Coalition Forces freed five Iraqis who were found in a padlocked room in Karmah. The group, which included a boy, were reportedly beaten with chains, cables, and hoses. Photos showing injuries sustained by those captives can be found here.

The Smoking Gun has more

Don Surber and Wretchard at The Belmont Club note the silence of the human rights crowd and the MSM in regard to the al Qaeda torture manual published at The Smoking Gun. Writes Wretchard:

The problem with the word “torture” is that it has been so artfully corrupted by some commentators that we now find ourselves at a loss to describe the kinds of activities that the al-Qaeda interrogation manual graphically recommends. Now that the term “torture” has been put in one-to-one correspondence with such admittedly unpleasant activities as punching, sleep deprivation, a handkerchief pulled over one’s face and loaded with water, searches by women upon sensitive Islamic men or the disrespectful handling of Korans — what on earth do we call gouging people’s eyes out?

Answer: we call it nothing. My fearless prediction is that not a single human rights organization will seriously take the matter up. There will be no demonstrations against these barbaric practices, often inflicted upon Muslims by other Muslims, in any of the capitals of the world. Not a single committee in the United Nations will be convened nor will any functionary in the European Union lose so much as a night’s sleep over it. The word for these activities — whatever we choose to call it — will not be spoken.

Indeed, the news that Pfc. Joseph Anzack Jr.’s body showed signs of possible torture has been met by the human rights brigade with…

Nothing.

The continued search for our two other missing soldiers has been met by the human rights brigade with…

Nothing.

Lying Muslim Spokeswoman Edina Lekovic Exposed by Steven Emerson

Video: Emerson Confronts MPAC Spokeswoman

From LGF

Terrorism expert Steven Emerson was on Larry Kudlow’s CNBC show Wednesday with Edina Lekovic, veiled spokeswoman for the LA-based Muslim Public Affairs Council, to talk about the Pew Research survey of Muslims in America.

In this clip Lekovic talks about all the ways MPAC is helping to fight extremism—but Emerson points out that in July 1999, while Lekovic was managing editor of the UCLA Muslim Students’ Association’s newspaper, al-Talib, she published an article titled “Jihad in America,” containing this passage:

“When we hear someone refer to the great Mujahid (someone who struggles in Allah’s cause) Osama bin Laden as a ‘terrorist,’ we should defend our brother and refer to him as a freedom fighter, someone who has forsaken wealth and power to fight in Allah’s cause and speak out against oppressors. We take these stances only to please Allah.”

Confronted with this fact, Lekovic denies she was the editor of the newspaper. But unfortunately for her, there is proof. (PDF file.)

Here’s the cover of that edition; it’s horrifying to see what was being openly espoused at UCLA in the years leading up to September 11, 2001—and to realize that the same people responsible for this are now promoting themselves and their organizations as “moderate.”

UK: One Jihad Cleric Deported to Jamaica, Three Absconded

From the Telegraph UK

Abdullah El-Faisal, the Jamaican Islamic cleric who influenced one of the 7/7 London bombers, has been deported back to Jamaica.

* After 7/7 the British PM Tony Blair promised to deport 500 clerics. It never happened. His wife, Cherie Blair, a so-called ‘human rights lawyer’- must have reminded him of his future prospects as an ‘adviser’ for rich Arabs who just so happen to be Islamic.

El-Faisal arrived in the UK in 1992 and married a British biology graduate, establishing himself as a lay preacher at Brixton Mosque, often preaching to crowds of up to 500 people.

uhate.jpg

On his way home: Abdullah El-Faisal

His preaching came to the attentions of police when tapes of his sermons were found in the car of a suspected rapist in Dorset in late 2001.

During subsequent searches of specialist Islamic bookshops and El-Faisal’s rented house in Stratford, East London, police found other recordings in which he exhorted young Muslims to accept the deaths of women and children as “collateral damage” and to “learn to fly planes, drive tanks… load your guns and to use missiles”.

He told young British Muslims it was their duty to kill non-believers, Jews, Hindus and Westerners, urging them to adopt a “jihad mentality”. He also promised schoolboys that they would be rewarded with “72 virgins in paradise” if they died in a holy war.

The jury watched a video of El-Faisal after the Sept 11 attacks telling up to 150 young Muslims that the Koran justified attacking “kaffirs”, or unbelievers.

UPDATE:

“He argued his talks came from the Koran and if he was on trial so was the holy text”

He said it.

That is, Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal, just deported from the UK, said it. But no one will dare to examine the implications of his statement.

“Profile: Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal,” from the BBC

Muslim cleric Sheikh Abdullah al-Faisal, who has been deported from the UK to Jamaica, was jailed in 2003 for soliciting the murder of Jews and Hindus.
Al-Faisal spent years travelling the UK preaching racial hatred urging his audience to kill Jews, Hindus and Westerners.

The imam called on impressionable teenage boys to learn how to use rifles, fly planes and use missiles to kill “all unbelievers”.

In return for becoming martyrs, he promised them the reward of a place in paradise.

He did this in accord with Qur’an 9:111, which promises Paradise to those who “kill and are killed” for Allah.

One of the 7 July London suicide bombers, Germaine Lindsay, was heavily influenced by him, according to the Home Secretary John Reid….
In his tape Jihad, the father-of-four told Muslim women to raise their children “with the jihad mentality” by giving them toy guns.

In the tape recorded after 11 September, he said: “The way forward is the bullet. Our motto is ‘might is right'”.

In another tape – Rules of Jihad – thought to have been recorded before 11 September, he said Jihad had been declared against India.

“You are only allowed to use nuclear weapons in that country which is 100% unbelievers,” he said.

But throughout the trial he denied he had intended to incite people to violence.

Instead he argued his talks came from the Koran and if he was on trial so was the holy text.

Absconded jihadists want to kill British and American troops

More on this story. “Terror Suspects Want to ‘Wage Jihad,'” by Julia White for the Daily Express, with thanks to JW

THREE men on the run after breaching anti-terrorism control orders wanted to wage jihad against the West.
Lord Carlile, the independent reviewer of anti-terrorism laws, said there is “solid intelligence” that the trio were a danger to British troops stationed abroad.

He said: “These three men were the subject of solid intelligence that they intended to damage our national security by going as insurgents to kill British and other allied troops abroad.”

It emerged earlier today that the suspects, who were held under “control orders”, had absconded this week.

Scotland Yard named Lamine Adam, 26, his brother Ibrahim, 20, and Cerie Bullivant, 24, last night after they failed to report to police.

Police said the men, two of whom are brothers of a man jailed last month for plotting al Qaeda-inspired bomb attacks across Britain, had violated anti-terrorism “control orders” and failed to check in with authorities last week.

The announcement, following the disappearances of at least two other suspects last year, means that more than a quarter of those subject to the controversial orders — imposed on suspects who are not charged with a crime — are now missing.

Under control orders suspects are frequently confined to their homes for much of the day, required to wear electronic tags, obliged to check in with police, forbidden to use computers or telephones and banned from meeting people without permission….

Shadow home secretary David Davis said the news was “shocking” and said that Home Secretary John Reid had failed in his duty to protect the public.

He said: “People are placed on control orders on the basis they are terror suspects who pose a serious risk to the public.”

Liberal Democrat home affairs spokesman Nick Clegg called for a “wholesale review” of the Government’s strategy.

“This is yet another hammer blow for the increasingly discredited system of control orders,” he said.

Yes.

And what happened to Abu Izzadeen?
