NATO Captures Senior Taliban Chief

NATO forces in Afghanistan have captured a senior taliban leader, without even firing a shot. I guess the taliban leader wasn’t anxious to find out if there are 72 brown eyed virgins waiting for him on the other side.

This is a big catch, Mullah Sakhi Dad, is said to have commanded large numbers of taliban, coordinated suicide bombings and distributed IEDs throught the Uruzgan province. He is also closely connected to the top leadership of the taliban. Specifically Mullah Berader Akhund, second in command of the taliban.

Anti-Jew Day in Iran

Tens of thousands of Muslims observed an anti-Jewish day on September 26. Muslims in Iran, Gaza and elsewhere kept the 30th “Quds Day” observance by marching down streets, burning Israeli and American flags, mocking the Holocaust, celebrating past suicide bombings and calling for more. Arutz Sheva reports (September 28):

Iranian Muslim students at the Palestine Square in Tehran unveiled a book mocking the Holocaust, with its cover depicting a Jew with a crooked nose while drawing the outline of dead bodies. The book depicts Jews leaving the Nazi gas chambers with a counter that records “5,999,999,” one less than the round figure of 6 million Jews who were Nazi terror victims.

Somali pirates stare down global superpowers

Update: Somali Islamists want weapons on ship, say residents

 

MOGADISHU (Reuters) – Islamist insurgents have demanded to be given some of the weapons aboard a hijacked Ukrainian ship carrying 33 tanks but the pirates holding it have refused, a local official said on Sunday.

The Islamist gunmen from the al Shabaab group opposing Somalia’s weak interim government have also received a five percent cut of the $1.5 million paid out for a Spanish ship released several months ago, a resident told Reuters.

About two weeks ago, heavily-armed pirates captured the MV Faina near Hobyo town in central Somalia and are demanding a $20 million ransom. Several U.S. navy ships are watching it to ensure none of the weapons are unloaded.

“Al Shabaab wanted some weapons from the Ukrainian ship but the pirates rejected their demands,” a local official who asked not to be named told Reuters. “Al Shabaab went away after they were rejected by the residents and the pirates. I am sure the group is not far from the area,” he said.

    We featured Anjem Chaudary on several occasions on this blog. Recently he announced that Sherry Jones, author of the pathetic novel ‘Jewel of Medina’ would have to be killed for blaspheming his prophet. Sherry Jones book is a lot of crock.  But her motive for writing it is as absurd as the (inevitable) reaction by the adherents of the ‘Religion of Peace:

    “This is a book that honours the prophet Mohammed, it’s respectful of Islam, if anything, Muslims could use my book to gain Western converts. It paints a very positive picture of Islam,” says Jones.”

    Anjem Chaudary has much in common with ‘Achmed, the dead terrorist’ who was just banned by the headbangers in South Africa. But Anjem Chaudary is not dead, he is very much alive and lives in the UK, where he incites, plots, spews bile and instigates his co-religionists to wage jihad against the kuffar.  Very much like Ahmed the dead terrorist, who has become famous with the line “shut up – I kill you!” Unfortunately, Chaudary is not comical.

    On September 17, 2008, the U.S. News and World Report magazine reported on how the “Federal Reserve extended an $85 billion loan to American International Group to be paid back as AIG sells off some business in the biggest government takeover so far in the ongoing credit crisis.” What the American public hasn’t seen yet is what AIG is going to sell off in terms of its business. According to the September 16, 2008 press release by the Federal Reserve on this bailout, the “U.S. government will receive a 79.9 percent equity interest in AIG and has the right to veto the payment of dividends to common and preferred shareholders.”
