No free speech for people who point out the planet hasn’t warmed for 16 years! Another Fairfax columnist, John Birmingham, fumes:

Because, you know, Voltaire … But let’s not pretend there is a debate over the central question. That ­science is settled and has been for years. We’re killing ourselves and the planet with our civilisational ­addiction to burning fossil fuels for energy. Climate science … is riven with debate and disagreement, but it’s debate and disagreement over the details, not the whole.

Rubin “Hurricane” Carter (also known as Saladin Abdullah Muhammad) has died. Sympathetic obituaries say things like “wrongfully convicted” or “exonerated.” But the black middleweight-title-contending boxer was neither.

Juries twice found Carter guilty of a triple murder. The evidence against him was overwhelming. He finally was granted a third trial on a technicality, but no judge ever said or implied that he was framed or that he did not commit the murders.

Carter, in 1966, murdered three people. But Hollywood later made a movie, “The Hurricane,” in which Denzel Washington brilliantly portrayed Carter as a wrongfully convicted near-saint, hounded mercilessly by a determined, racist detective. Excellent moviemaking, but it adds more sludge to the widely held notion of the “racist criminal justice system” that supposedly “warehouses” black males for no reason other than wrong place, wrong time, wrong skin.

So, what really happened that night in Paterson, N.J., when three people were shot and killed? Why did Carter get prosecuted? Was Carter, as the media continue to say, an “innocent man” who was “wrongfully convicted”? Did the courts “exonerate” him?  (Do read on)

He singled out a speech by Hasni Ramadan, a prominent Muslim leader from Geneva who spoke before thousands of congress participants.

According to the news site www.europe-israel.org, Ramadan said during his address: “All the evil in the world originates from the Jews and the Zionist barbarism.”

Muslim children not only need halal meat or Eid Holidays but they need state funded Muslim schools with Muslim teachers as role models during their development period also. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

The schools must satisfy the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural needs of Muslim pupils. State schools with non-Muslim monolingual teachers are not in a position to satisfy their needs. A good school is not just a knowledge factory or a conveyor belt for churning out exam passes – it is a community, a family. A community is held together by common values and principles.

‘Trojan Horse’ schools: Birmingham City Council tries to blame the Telegraph for revealing the scandal

Birmingham City Council’s leader, Sir Albert Bore, today attacked the Telegraph for its “wholly reprehensible and completely unacceptable” publication of a leaked Department for Education report into three of the so-called “Trojan Horse” schools taken over by Muslim hardliners. This is what in the trade is called “deflection”: try to make the story about the leaking of the report, rather than the contents of it.

It’s not hard to understand why Sir Albert wants to change the subject. The contents of the leaked report – which substantiate many of the claims made against the schools – make his and his council’s past behaviour look rather silly.

When Channel 4 aired its “Undercover Mosque” footage, it was not the Mohammedans who were investigated. It was the journalists who risked life and limb to raise awareness.

And to add insult to injury, in your remarks, the murder of Baruch Mizrachi barely rates a sentence, almost an afterthought. And you equivocate by calling for ‘an immediate end to all acts of violence’, as though Israelis were likewise targeting Arab families for murder on the highways. And then you call on Israel and Israel alone to mend its ways and reverse these so-called punitive actions that you deplore so much.
Are you that dead to shame, Lady Ashton? Are you that blind to justice?

How many times have we heard the same old tired line, that only an infinitesimally small, almost imperceptible number of Muslims are radicalized? You know the story: a couple of young men cut the head off of a soldier in middle of a busy street yelling “Allahu Akbar” is followed by a litany of Islamic apologists on the airwaves claiming that the majority of Muslims are quite moderate and would never, ever condone such actions. Sounds great, but is it true? Short answer: Not even close.

The real problem is ‘Islamophobia’ and free speech:

From Letters to the Editor, the Bendigo Advertiser

SANDRA Caddy is to be commended for her letter,“Saying yes is treason” (April 12), which was an accurate assessment of issues associated with having a mosque in Bendigo.

Many letter writers have expressed the need for compassion and tolerance between Christians and Muslims.

While the sentiments expressed are noble and Christian, one needs to understand that compassion and tolerance are scarce commodities in Islamic ideology, and are nonexistent regarding non-Muslims (infidels), unless it is of benefit to the Muslim (Koran).

In the past couple of years, representatives from several of Islam’s host nations have spoken in Australia about the social destabilisation and civil rights abuses in communities where councils and governments in their naivety have allowed pockets of sharia law to be introduced.

Those government institutions, seeing  their error, have now the momentous task of getting the horse that bolted, back in the stable.
