It manipulates the public into thinking that boycotting the safety measures that keep innocent Israelis alive every day is “human rights activism”. It appropriates and abuses the voices of progressive icons like MLK and Nelson Mandela to gain legitimacy, even though both strongly opposed the toxic brand of anti-Zionism that BDS represents. Apparently, polite applause is the act of  “blueshirt Zionist hoodlums” while repeatedly and profanely interrupting a student association meeting is simple manners.

It seems that when you have an irrational hatred of one of the world’s most liberal and tolerant countries despite it being surrounded by tens of millions who want it to be destroyed, seeing things as exactly the opposite of truth becomes a habit.

Unfortunately for them, the tide is turning against BDS this year, quite decisively. There will be more angry,profanity-filled outbursts, and more humorous videos of Israel haters.

Rational people remain rational when they lose. Irrational haters become even more irrational when things don’t go their way. Nothing I can say is more convincing than this video.

Gelsenkirchen –  Germany:  a lecturer for politics joined the extreme right ProNRW against Islam, shouted “Islamophobic paroles” and was promptly sacked from his job.  Undeterred, he brought his case before the Administrative Court (VG) in Gelsenkirchen and  won.

At the hearing on Wednesday it was revealed that the sacking was illegal. (Formal errors) An appeal is not allowed.

Review: Politics Teacher Daniel K. (32) from Dortmund professes to be a left Green voter,  gay and vegan.

(Normally, these people are not our friends.)

But on a ProNRW demo in June 2012 in Cologne, he  strongly came out against Islam.

“As a professing homosexual in Germany I have more fear of Islamists as than Nazis!” Daniel K. said on a video circulating on the Internet. “Islam is the greater danger. And neo-Nazis are the ones who fight all blind…”

(CNN) — The Italian navy said it rescued more than 1,000 migrants from several overcrowded boats in the Mediterranean between Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

The migrants, who included women and children, had set off from the North African coast and were not equipped with life jackets, the navy said.

They are now being taken by ship to the port of Augusta, on Italy’s Mediterranean island of Sicily.

On Tuesday, three other navy ships disembarked 1,049 more migrants rescued since Monday in the ports of Augusta and Pozzallo, also in Sicily, the navy said.

Italy is a major gateway into Europe for migrants who come by sea from North Africa in hope of reaching EU soil.

Shipwrecks off the shores of Sicily and the tiny island of Lampedusa are common, thanks to the frequent use of overcrowded and barely seaworthy vessels.

But despite the dangers, migrants keep coming. Some are from African nations, particularly Eritrea and Somalia, while others have fled war-torn Syria, officials say.

According to the European border agency Frontex, more than 12,000 illegal migrants were detected off Sicily and 8,000 off Lampedusa in the third quarter of last year.

Many of those arriving on Italy’s shores have set sail from Libya, the agency said.

We know what the law says about religious freedom in the home of Islam because the US State Department has helpfully produced a report called the 2011 Report on International Religious Freedom.

And it has devoted an entire section to Saudi Arabia.

And I’ve gone to the trouble of reading it.

And the most important bit is this:

“Freedom of religion is neither recognized nor protected under the law and is severely restricted in practice…The public practice of any religion other than Islam is prohibited.”

Of course, when the Saudis use the word prohibited, they mean it. So they have set up a body called the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. Its job is to go around enforcing Sharia law. And ensuring that the only people allowed to publicly perform marriages between bearded old men and 12 year old girls are state-sanctioned imams.

Brandeis University had planned to award an honorary degree to Ayaan Hirsi Ali at its commencement ceremony this year, but after a smear campaign led by the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic supremacist groups, on Tuesday the university issued a statement announcing the predictable result: the honorary degree would not be given. UK PM Dawoud Camoron, always wrong on everything, described the business in Crimea and eastern Ukraine as “the greatest threat to Western security” since the Cold War.

Wrong again.

The greatest threat to Western security — to the political, social, economic, intellectual, and moral wellbeing of its indigenous population, is that from unhindered immigration from the Middle East and Africa.
