Not satisfied to win control of “Muslim” holy sites alone, the “Palestinian Authority”  is demanding that even the Western Wall, globally reocognized as Judaism’s holiest site, must come under its sovereignty as part of any peace deal with Israel.

“Every piece of land Israel occupied in 1967 belongs to the Palestinian state. The Buraq Wall, too, will be under Palestinian sovereignty,” Palestinian Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud al-Habash said in an interview with Israel’s Channel 10 News.

CAR imam says conflict not about Islam, blames seleka

The top Muslim religious leader in the war-ravaged Central African Republic (CAR) has asserted that the country’s current conflict is political not religious, going on to blame ex-seleka fighters for the plight of CAR’s Muslims.

“All what is happening now has no relation with Islam or Christianity. It is all about politics,” Imam Oumar Kobine Layama, a top Muslim community leader in CAR, told Anadolu Agency on Tuesday.

The United Arab Emirates has summoned Qatar’s ambassador to formally protest against criticism of the Gulf country by a prominent religious leader who has lived in Qatar for decades, the UAE’s official news agency has said.

The Spanish government approved a law on Friday allowing descendents of Sephardic Jews expelled from the country in 1492 to seek Spanish nationality without giving up their current citizenship.

Spain’s Justice Minister Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon said Spain owed the Sephardic community a debt for spreading the Spanish language and culture around the world. The word Sephardic comes from Sefarad, or Spain in Hebrew.

“The law we’ve passed today has a deep historic meaning: not only because it concerns events in our past of which we should not be proud, like the decree to expel the Jews in 1492, but because it reflects the reality of Spain as an open and plural society,” said Gallardon.

Around 300,000 Jews lived in Spain before the ‘Reyes Catolicos’, Catholic monarchs Isabella and Ferdinand, ordered Jews and Muslims to convert to the Catholic faith or leave the country.

Muslim groups are now clamoring for reciprocity, and are demanding that the Spanish government grant instant citizenship to millions of descendants of Muslims who were also expelled from Spain during the Middle Ages.
